  1. Whelp made it out to the range today to zero the dot and test out the new set up. I managed to get 8 rounds through the gun before the glass on the dot broke. Not sure what the problem is but plan on starting a separate thread to get it figured out. Will post back here with an update.

Meaning it's mounted almost as low as direct mount. Like maybe 0.040" different..

To me this looks silly and adds like a cm of unnecessary height, so I went with direct mount. I really wish there was an option for a standard plate system with this optic combo but could not find one anywhere

  3. For this specific optic, the CZC plate is considerably thicker than their normal plates. It makes the optic sit extremely high on the slide. There are no companies that offer a plate system compatible with the Romeo 3 series that doesn't have a thick plate like this for the CZ.

  4. I ended up going with the TSO/ Romeo 3 Max combination- sent off the slide earlier this week. To my knowledge I'm the first person (I can find evidence of online) that is attempting this combo- will post the work here when it's done and give my thoughts for anyone who might want to try it in the future.

I think I want to stick with a polymer striker fired gun for a number of reasons

the Glock 17 I shot was fairly flat…is anything flatter in the polymer segment?

The Glock 34 I used to run shot super flat with my reloads, may be slightly flatter than the 17 but it's all going to be preference. Flat is a matter of technique more so than the gun, but some guns make it easier than others obviously. Any of your lower bore axis guns like Glock/ CZ will be more mechanically inclined to run flat, but you have to put in the work too.

  6. Springer precision will do it as well, direct mount for 125.

I'm torn between the 3 max and the SRO, due to the unorthodox combinations it doesn't look like a good solution for a plate system exists yet to swap out dots on the TSO- so whatever I pick I'm married to.

If anyone has more info I'd be glad to hear it.

Sorry, I was unclear there. The TS was from CZC. The slide and dustcover cuts were from a guy who is out of business now. Springer Precision did the optics cut/plate for the SRO. Just got it back from Springer and it has worked fantastic the one time I was able to get to the range. More rounds needed down the pipe to give a reliability report but Springer's stuff has always been top notch in my experience.

Ah I misread your post, my bad.

Ok thanks, I’m trying to find someone to do some slide panel/lightening cuts on a gen 1 TSO

CGW will do them as far as I know, patriot defense will do a top window as well.

Neomet, who did your slide cuts?

CZC per his post. Seems to be the best option

SRO on an original TS from CZC.

Any issues with the set up?

I just mounted the EGW plate for a Burris FF3 on my TS today. The EGW needed a little filing to fit in the dovetail. I still needed an arbor press to get it in. The EGW sits pretty low. I'll sight it in tomorrow.

Let us know how it works out!

  10. Nice. Have my eye on this one for a temporary solution while the division is provisional. Would love to see it once the SRO is mounted!

We have a gun show coming up this weekend in Manhattan, Kansas. We'll see what prime members are going for but, I'm sure it's close to $200  a 1,000

Who cares what some guy in Kansas is charging for primers? If he wants to rip you off and you let him that's your problem..

Realistically primers cost 1.5-1.75 times as much as they did 3-4 years ago. It sucks but it's still cheaper than buying factory AND those prices have been steadily declining. If you can't get with the times and learn how to use the internet to find a deal, I don't know what else to do for you. Threads like this whining about how expensive everything is certainly isn't solving any problems.

I've said it probably 5 times now, if you still can't seem to find a primers for a reasonable price, join the Reloading discord server and be notified whenever a deal comes up online. This solution has been around since 2020 when primers first got expensive, but threads like this still exist today for lord knows why.

Where did you get them? because you can't them for that around here to 179-190 dollars  a 1,000. Not that that is a great price. It's been a while since I actually had to buy primers but the last time I bought primers was about 3 + years ago, and I gave her $127 for 5000 just saying

It seems today you can buy a thousand rounds of loaded 9 mm or you can buy a thousand small pistol primers for the same price

    Screenshot_2023-03-05-22-28-48-095~2.jpg

I just bought 3k primers for 250 bucks.. your math aint mathing.

  14. I've seen primers readily available for as low as 7.5 cents per round shipped these days. I get it's not the savings it used to be but still damn good compared to buying factory imo. If you're still paying 10-12 cents per primer today you need to join the discord server.

  15. So what's the verdict on the DWX?

Really bizarre the amount of hype around the gun for years and years, seemed like everybody couldn't wait for it to be released. Now that it's out I've seen very little in the way of info about the gun outside of this thread.

Magazines and barrel for 2 more rounds doesn't sound worth it to me. I have all the 40 loading stuff. But I do understand the capacity part of it.

Pretty sure you can get up to 24 rounds in a 140mm cz mag- 23 at least.

I pretty commonly find myself wishing I had an extra round or 2 on stages- 4 would make a considerable difference. We're talking about a capacity range where 1 or 2 extra rounds may mean the difference between requiring a reload and not on a given stage with a round count in the low 20's

  17. 16 hours ago, ohsevenflhx said:

Why change the barrel and magazines? Why not just load 40 minor and get a EGW red dot plate for 49$.

Cheaper to load 9mm and much less of a hassle than trying to find .40 brass.

That said, until the division is official I will be doing exactly what you suggested

I saw a lot of comments saying no one is going tondo this or that to their limited gun

they make options to use existing cut to mount a dot as well as you can load 40 minor a ton of guys already do it for 3 gun so they dont have to have two different guns for uspsa and 3 gun. I even have seen a few production guys shoot 40 minor in production. I would have loved to seen this be major i can see why they didnt.

one reason is bc most of the manufacturers are making these types of firearms in 9mm to do major and keep all the manufacturers happy somewhat it would have to include 9 major and after that all the manufacturers would start complaining guns are breaking. I can also see them not doing in due to open.

i think it will be a great addition. I too would have loved to see it added to co but i think it will be fine

I'll be loading some .40 minor and getting a dovetail optic mount for my limited gun while the division is provisional. Seems like that's what a lot of people will be doing. If the division flops, I can easily go back to limited for little money/ resources invested
