  1. gen4 , 34, stock form recoild assembly, not much of a difference from a gen 3 stock gun , but recoil is perceived differently by people. Had to got to a gen 3 set up spring for competition.

I don't really feel recoil or even hear the noise. What I do notice is muzzle flip and sight tracking. I was wondering if there was an improvement there.

  2. I was at the Asia Pacific Glock Invitational In Cebu this weekend. Glocks were awarded at the dinner and the Asia Pacific Glock rep gave a little speech. He said that the bugs have been ironed out of the gen 4 and that the gen4 will be "oficially" released next year in 2012. Whatever that means. I was having too much fun drinking San Mig and watching the Brazilian dancers. Anyhow, I have steered clear of the gen4 because I've heard of a few problems with the early ones. I'd like to know if the gen4 recoil assembly really helps with muzzle flip. Does anyone have any experience with that ?

  3. I have never shot a 226 . I like the take down lever under my left thumb. Would riding the lever or pushing down on it during firing affect the performance of the gun in any way ?

    WS

Did Vogel win the WS with a Glock 17 ?

    No, he shoots a 34 in Production & a 24 in Limited.

I thought the G34 was not approved for ipsc production, only uspsa production div.

  4. Glock has used several trigger bar supplies over the years. All were a little different. Been doing Glocks trigger jobs for over 12 years so I have seen most of them. Yep, I moved the pad before CV ever though about it.

What does moving the trigger pad up actually accomplish ? Does it reduce striker and trigger bar engagement? Is there some mechanical advantage that reduces trigger pull weight? Is it about leverage? Help a dummy out here........

  5. As you may already be aware, a compensated auto pistol must run a recoil spring considerably lighter than the same gun, firing the same ammo, without a compensator. The compensator, pushing down on the front of the barrel during firing, retards unlocking of the action until after the recoil impulse has already considerably abated. Thus a comped auto pistol running the same weight recoil spring as the exact same gun, firing the exact same ammo, without a comp will fail to cycle. What sort of ammo are you running in this gun? A 13-pound ISMI recoil spring with three coils removed seems way too heavy to me in a compgun. That's actually a recoil spring weight/treatment I would consider appropriate for an uncomped Glock firing 130-ish pf loads.

I can't really see (granted the barrel is correctly fitted) why your gun would fail to go back into battery with an 11-pound recoil spring. Also granted, natch, you have compensated (no pun intended) for the lighter recoil spring by also going to a lighter firing pin spring.

I am using a reduced power striker spring. Also 8 grains of HS6 in a LWD barrel at about 1360 fps. I also a U sizing die.

  6. Erosion in aluminum comps is a bear, especially in 9Major guns. Some have used titanium, but you understand the inherent costs of that (machining difficulty and material costs).

What weight of recoil spring were you using? I find it a little hard to grasp that a small change in compensator weight would result in such a huge difference in outcome unless you were right at the edge with a too-heavy recoil spring.

Yeah, it "baffles" me too. I am using an ismi 13# minus 3 coils. The gun will not lock up reliably with an 11#. spring.

  7. i had a 4 port aluminum comp for my glock and it worked well but the baffles eroded pretty quickly. So I had the comp duplicated in tool steel. It was effective but the gun was unreliable so I cut one port off, making it a 3 port and the gun was reliable again but the comp was not as effective. The difference in muzzle flip is VERY noticeable. Assuming that the comp was just too heavy for the gun, what is a good metal for a glock comp? does anyone have any ideas or creative solutions? Anyone have similar problems?

  8. I currently live in Cebu City in the Philippines.Does anyone here know where to find glock factory and after market parts here? I've done the google searches and visited some gun shops here but no luck so far.

  9. The only gun I ever shot that had ZERO flip was a 9x40 using 125's and 15 grains of H110 and a comp with 5 ports on top and two on each side at about 1550 fps. If I squeezed the gun too hard it would actually flip down.

  10. Since the factory run a suppressed version of the gun, I don't think the added weight should be a problem.

I was thinking the comp might push the gun to the right when the barrel rotates............
