Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. An example of Rob's time savers was stage 12. You started with the notepad in hand. Start signal, drop it, draw and engage T1 with 6 rounds while retreating to the rear of the van. From the other side, 2 on T2, then go to prone for T3-5. We decided 'a slide lock reload is always faster than a tac load', and did a slide lock from prone. Will was a 12 and I was a 16 here. Rob Leatham however, did a tac load. He started it as soon as he reached the rear of the van, and had it done by the time he crossed over to the other side. So it ended up being much faster. His time for the stage was 10 and change. He is super quick. I love to watch people at that level shoot, I always learn something about how to tackle a stage.
  2. You might give them a few more days. I believe they drive to the match in order to take everything with them. (computers, banners, shooters bags and such) When we left yesterday at 11, it looked like they still had lots to tear down and pack up. And a quick plug- if you get the chance to go to Nationals, do it. Lot's of fun.
  3. Great match! Really well run, had lots of fun. Stages were laid out so limited 10 wasn't at such a disadvantage. Our squad finished between 2-3, and the breeze made it not so hot. Support staff was friendly, props were good. The worst thing was the drive :-)
  4. well, we actually did some yesterday. it was our cold drill, first thing when we got to the range. 7 yards, from concealment. 2.25 and 2.21 they felt a little slow, but were down 0. anyone else?
  5. oops, double tap :-) (Edited by Glock Princess at 11:46 am on June 14, 2002)
  6. Quote: from lowtech on 9:55 pm on June 13, 2002 I was the one who listed a full length/muzzeled covered holster. Although this is a compition gun it will be carried afield. Thanks for the input guys. lowtech, i had been using a blade-tech ladies/drop/offset for my g17. when i got the g34, i just continued using the same holster, until my new one from cen-dex was done. i like this one better, it doesn't drop as low, or kick out as much, which makes it easier to conceal. sara
  7. Hey guys, just a beginner MD here, but here's my thoughts. If I wanted to put together a 18 round string of fire which requires 2 reloads, there are a couple of options. I could mandate reloads at certain points. Since we don't want to get in the habit of telling people exactly how to shoot a stage, we don't do this. It limits creativity. Rather, I would limit the number of rounds in the first mag, and then let the shooter take the course as he/she wishes. It's not often in IDPA that a shooter goes to the second mag, so it is good practice to do so on occasion.
