  1. Being cold in general affects fine motor skills, obviously cold hands are going to make a more noticeable impact. Make sure you're focusing on keeping yourself warm. Dress in layers, use hand warmers, stay as un-exposed to the cold as possible when your not shooting.
  2. The dot sure does bring to light the lack of steadiness in my grip. When I first started shooting with the dot I found myself pushing and anticipating my shots. In a sense I was able to correct some things because it brought my flaws to light. Sure wish I didnt have this dang astigmatism though...
  3. Like most people on here I grew up shooting. I formed a lot of bad habits along the way and I really wish I had resources like this to ask questions and learn. Learning to shoot with both eyes open has definitely been a challenge for me. I feel like im taking a few steps back so that it will help me become a better shooter in the long run. I feel like shooting with both eyes open lets me see more in the sense that I can transition to my next target faster. Just my .02
  4. Thanks! Ill be in the Bloomsburg area until May.
  5. Thanks so much for the great info! Just getting into the sport and there a lot of meat and potatoes in your post!
  6. Hello everyone, Im new to the sport and excited to get started. I realize this is a tough time to get into the sport all things considered, but nevertheless Im jumping in! I have a good friend who's helping me get started, but I'm here to learn so please excuse my ignorance if I ask questions that seem a little dumb. Im planning on starting off in carry optics and limited and eventually adding open to the list. My goal is to really nail down the fundamentals before I get into open. Im from NC but working in PA so that's where Ill probably start shooting local matches. Advice is always welcome. Thanks guys and gals!
