  1. A friend of ours (a Landscaper) started cutting my grass out of pity 10 years ago.

I've been happy to pay him ever since........................

Only one rule, have it cut before Friday!,

so there is no chance of my wife making me do it on a weekend!

  2. That's right, I just hate it. This time he has gone too far with his Blizzard thread. Those of us that just love those tasty treats and can not eat them any more must rebel and stop this teasing once and for all.

I am down 35 pounds and see no blizzard in my future unless it is weather related so

KNOCK IT OFF JAY IT JUST ISN'T FAIR!!!!!

Gary, we are all over weight by at least two Blizzards,

To hate a blizzards, You must over weight by at least 20 Blizzards!

  3. I've been cleaning brass all this week.

I'm just about finished cleaning two very full large rubbermaid totes of mixed brass.

My tumbler has been running about 10 hours a day since Monday.

    (each load about 1 1/2 -2 hours)

    Oh yeah,

My tumbler is a big Dillon tumbler,

purchased in circa 1989 or when ever they first came out.......

It runs & cleans like a champ :popcorn1:

Two totes of MIXED brass...eh..? You probably had to add media several time to replace the stuff that is caught between the 9mm stuck in the .40 cases and the .40 stuff stuck in the .45 cases...?

    How'd you know?

yeah, sometimes I even get the three'fer,

    a 9x21 in a .40 in a .45...........

One more day of sorting, and I'm done,

I swear I'm going to keep them all seperate from now on!

    Pass the popcorn :goof:

  5. Every 5 years or so, I think to get organized!

So I start cleaning and sorting brass.......................

(that's right, I shoot new brass in matches!

but, since nobody else shoots 9x21, I usually get some, A LOT!, back!)

While I hate the task at the beginning,

Later on, I think it good therapy, once I get going.

    So far:

    2 Red baskets 1x fired 9x21

    (think supermarket red basket!)

+ They make GREAT media separators!

    1 shoebox 9MM

    1 shoebox 38super

    1/2 shoebox .40

    1 shoebox .45

1/8 of a box of where the F*$& did these come from...........................

I have a only one big Rubbermaid tote to go!

Times are getting hard for the things we LOVE

    Brass, Bullets,

and GAS to get to Matches!

I now have to be more economical!

  6. Here's my newly plumbed together 6" limited gun. Frame and slide are STI, Kart barrel, BoMar rear that was collecting dust in a drawer, Koenig hammer, misc parts by EGW, Wilson, Brown, MGW, Dawson, STI, and yours truly. It's in the white, mostly. Weight is 2.23lbs....35.6 ounces.

You still got Dan, looks great! :popcorn1:

  7. I guess it's really just a testimony to Benny Hill and his innovative firearms. More than a few of his developments - his creations -have now become "mainstream" in USPSA and 3 Gun competition and are now copied by both other gunsmiths and even large firearms manufacturers.

    Benny Hill.

    I get it now.

I only get my auto pistolas from Custom gunsmiths, so I missed it.

Benny is next on my list I would like to have build one, I'm waiting for frames....................

  8. Thanks to PMD & Supermoto!

Both stayed home to let me have a HOA! ^_^

(someday, someday I'm gonna win!) :D

These guys are the future , along with GTOshooter & Pistolpete and other up & comers in the Northeast!

(Sorry Matt, looks like an out of towner ate you lunch Sunday.............It sucks to come in second, doesn't it?:lol::lol: )

    thanks guys,

    JH

After 20 years, it is still true:

    There is always SOMEBODY better.

  9. I update to my life membership back in '92, a pretty good investment I think.

I would do it in a minute if would kept my number, but...............

Thanks to all for the Kudos

The aniversary weekend went well, cause a lot of higher classed shooters stayed home.

    read big fish, small pond

  10. Anybody have a preference and why? I am looking at installing one or the other to help out these 59 year old eyes and was curious as to the +'s and -'s of each. I would also appreciate any thoughts on mounting. They would be installed on either an STI or SV, still debating which gun to use.

ThanX in advance for the help

hint from a mere A shooter. :roflol:

Just look at what most Top Shooters are using.................... :sight:

    there in lies the answer

  11. secret amount of GM's

    :blink::blink:

Sorry! Appearently my question caused a thread split !!!

    Uh Oh!

I put this question to USPSA a few years ago and got a vague response from Dave Thomas,

I think you need at least 2 GM's, but if they aren't good GM's, you may need more................ :o

It ain't in the rule book, it is up to them

And don't ask me what a good GM is, everybody is better than me............. :surprise:

  12. From 08' Rule book...

Your performance in larger matches and tournaments may also be used to help

establish classification. Placement in a major event with a score above your

assigned class percentage may result in your being promoted to a higher class,

even if your current average is lower. Winning first or second in class at an Area

Championship or Major Tournament AND shooting into the next higher class

may result in promotion (except to Grand Master); winning High Overall in an

Area Championship may promote you to Grand Master class. In addition, if you

score 95% or higher at a USPSA national championship, you will be immediately

moved to Grand Master class for that division.

Another way to get out of B class....

If you feel your classification is too low, you may request the next higher class,

up to but not including Grand Master. Requests are made in writing and submitted

with a letter from your club president or Section Coordinator (SC) endorsing

your request. If your request is approved, you will be moved up at the next regular

    calculation period.

Winning first or second in class at an Area

Championship or Major Tournament AND shooting into the next higher class

may result in promotion (except to Grand Master)

The word may means it is up to USPSA

  13. On the subject and off the subject ... In USPSA, if your sandbagging and shoot a "major" match in lets say B

class but you beat everyone in A class, do you automatically move up or was that just an IDPA thing ??

 Since that would likely mean you won YOUR class, (unless you were beat by a bigger sandbagger)

    Well..........., it used to be,

now you need an secret amount of GM's to shoot the match to be promoted.

Check with Dave Thomas for the un-written rules :popcorn1:

  14. I would like to bring out the old single stack in the local matches here in the NJ / Philly Pa area but I look at the recient local match results and SS numbers are very low (3 to 4 MAYBE!) .

Go for it & have some fun! :goof:

I've been using mine in IDPA, and expect to shoot some USPSA later this year

(if there are only 3 or 4 single stacks and you come in 5th, buy an open gun!)
