  1. When I shoot my CZ-75B I notice that the recoil impulse is kind of weird. When my shot breaks, my wrists break upwards and then I break again at the elbows only slightly. Then my wrists and the gun come back down with the gun again paralel to the ground, but higher up by an inch or two. Anyone else notice this? Or is it something wrong with my technique?

  2. I would love to start reloading, someday. But right now between school and work I barely have time to shoot, let alone reload. So I shoot cheap factory ammo. The WWB .45 factory ammo I shoot is about 198 pf. Kinda makes quick splits difficult. Does anyone know of a source online that I can buy .45 ammo at the power floor for major? At a reasonable price? How about 9mm on the power floor?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Just saw this in my local paper and burst into laughter: Bahls-DeKock wedding. Let it sink in...

Think of the poor minister. "We are gathered her today to celebrate the joining of Bahls and DeKock".

Or the bride. "I love DeKock".

If the groom were to perform oraly, could he be said to "lick Bahls"?

  4. Throughout the year, shooting my CZ-75 will be a given, but what should I do for limited?

1)Para 14.45 Limited. I think that for the most part the problems might be behind me, maybe.

2)Glock 35. Just got it, need mags.

3)CZ-75B. I can take the PF hit...

4)XD-40 Tactical. On second thought never mind.

5)The heck with limited this year, save up for a CZ Tactical Sport.

  5. Basicaly I would like to move up to Limited, it is what I am shooting the Para in. I just haven't been progressing with the Para. The only reason that I decided to bring out the CZ again was a budy and I are going to shoot production with the loser buying the winner lunch. A kind of battle of the wundernines. His Sig vs. my CZ. I just did so well with it that I thought, "Hey, mabey I should use it for production also". I just point, pull and a hole appears in the A zone or steel falls.

After banging my head against a wall with my Para and XD-40(the gun I used when the Para was getting fixed which was more often than not) it felt good to do good.

  6. What would you say was the difference in shooting between your P14 and the CZ?

The CZ feels better in my hand and points more naturaly. It obviously has a ton less felt recoil. It was my first gun and I am very confidant in it. The Para on the other hand has slam-fired on me and the elevation set screw keeps working itself loose. FWIW they were both bought used.

  7. I was shooting a stage where half the target was blacked. I was shooting my CZ-75 and the DA pull pushed my first round into the black. Noting this I fired my first SA shot into the A and then a "make-up shot" into the A. After I had finished the other stages one of the guys that has been around awhile told me to just bury that first shot into the ground while I am drawing. That seems to me like it could be inturpreted as a ND. Granted, I realy shouldn't need all 10 rounds in a classifier but in a long string it could help.

Also on a tangent, we shoot 3 stages a month. I usualy shoot the classifier first. On the next stage is it legal for me to have 10 rounds in the mag and one in the chamber? Does that violate the 10 round rule for production? I am sure this has been covered somewhere but I could not think of what to search for.

    Thanks in advance.

  8. Sorry, I ment to say Limited, not major. Long day.

So, if I read you guys right, Sp-01 mags will work in my -75; and the other CZs would feel the same as my -75. I wish I could handle a Tactical Sport, but my local gunstore guy is a little hesitant to order something that I might not buy.

  9. This weekend I shot both my Para 14.45 Limited and my CZ-75B. Incredibly i did better with the CZ and I was wondering what you folks would do to a 9mm CZ-75 for major. In particular I was wondering about the availability of mag extensions. I realize that shooting 9mm will put me at a disadvantage, but I am very confidant in my CZ and all my hits were A's(a first) and they were quick A's(another first).

  10. The gunstore owner whom I consider to be very knowledgeable told me that it was perfect in stock trim and I didn't need FLGRs and magwells or anything like that. He even said the gun could run worse. Is this true?

If it were your gun, what would you do to it?

    Thanks in advance.

  11. I love both my 14.45 Limited and my CZ75. I am currently deciding what I am going to be shooting at my local club this year, limited or production. There are few prod shooters at my club so I would have little competition(is see this as a bad thing). But, my para needs a few things if I shoot limited. In the mean time I would be using an XD-40 5-inch. What I realy would like to know is what do you all think would help me grow more and develope some of the skills I am learning in Brian's book.

  12. I lost the elevation set screw on mine(it and the pin at the front of the sights work themselves loose) I got another from para, but it is alot shorter than the one I remember screwing back into the gun between stages. Does anyone make a drop-in replacement? Or should i stick to the factory sights? If so, how do I adjust them and make it so they do not come apart again?

  13. At my clubs classifier last week we had a neat stage. The box was directly behind hard cover the width of the box. On either side 7-10 yards away were 3 targets with NS in between. You had to engage t1-t3 on one side, reload and engage t4-t6. Now I have shot around cover like this and for me it is a pain to shoot around the left side. So when I slammed home the mag, my left hand just kept coming up and my right hand took the supporting role. I don't know how much it helped, but I felt more comfortable shooting the left side lefthanded and comfortable is confidant.
