  1. Just wanted to update this. I found a wolf heavy return spring for the PC carbine through triggershims.com and it's exactly what I was looking for. Completely fixed my reset issues.
  2. awesome! any chance we can get a photo of your setup? sounds like a nice rig!
  3. well it's finally available. I think this is the first aftermarket barrel option for this rifle. Wish it was a little cheaper but still pretty cool. https://taccom3g.com/product/16-xlw-barrel-for-ruger-pc-carbine/
  4. Does anyone know of a way to get a heavier trigger return spring for the PC Carbine? The reset on my trigger is way to weak for my liking. I'm used to the triggers in my AR's that literally push my finger back on reset. The PC Carbine is so weak I sometimes find myself out running the trigger reset. I'm not really worried about the trigger pull weight, I just want a nice tactile trigger with a noticeable, firm reset. Thanks for any help,Jordan
  5. That's disappointing to hear! They recently released a target hammer kit for the pc carbine that i'm considering giving a try. much cheaper than the TG9 https://volquartsen.com/departments/ruger-pc-carbine/inventory_configurations/5139
  6. I wrote VQ about a full kit and got this response. "Good Morning, At this time we do not have plans to offer a complete HP Action kit for the PC however it has been discussed. Scott"
  7. Looks like VQ is expanding their Ruger PC Carbine parts. Hopefully they offer a full HP action kit for the Ruger PC Carbine eventually like they do for the 10/22. https://volquartsen.com/departments/ruger-pc-carbine/inventory_configurations/5139
  8. That's awesome. have you been able to put a lot of rounds through it? been reliable?
  9. I'm now leaning towards using 10/22 parts. seems like everyone who has tried it has had good luck with it. I've been eyeing the Kidd kit as it doesnt have any of the 1022 specific parts. The parts appear to be identical to the Ruger PC carbine. https://www.coolguyguns.com/KIDD-Trigger-Job-Kit-with-Hammer-Sear-Disconnect-and-Trigger-blade_p_95.html
  10. So I reached out to Brimstone to see if they planned to do trigger work for the PC Carbine since they're so well known for their 10/22 work and this is what they said: "We have put that on the back burner currently with the generational differences. It is on the list when we get to it tho." I wonder what they mean by generational differences? To my knowledge, all the different versions of the PC carbine have the same trigger group. Am I wrong?
  11. Nice! good info, i'd like to see Volquarsten come out with something similar to their HP action kit for the 10/22 but for the PC Carbine. That would probably keep the weight of the factory trigger group well getting better performance. I actually wrote them about that earlier today. This is what they said. " Hi Jordan, We have looked at offering just the individual components and encountered functioning issues when we tried that. We are going to continue to work on this and hopefully in the near future will have something available." so hopefully soon, once they get the bugs worked out.
  12. i'm very much debating getting the kit from the OP. They offer a $36 refund if you send them your old trigger parts so that would drop the kit price down to around $80 which really isn't that bad.
  13. I just wrote them asking about this and they said that due to COVID-19 the release date has been pushed back but they are still hoping for a late May release date.
  14. Maybe but i wonder if it would still be to heavy? It looks a lot like the midwest industries chassis which i found to be a little heavy and bulky. https://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/MI-Ruger-PC-Carbine-Chassis-p/mi-rpcc.htm I'm still really interested to see what Tandemkross does with their upriser chassis. I'd like to see someone make one out of polymer or something like that.
  15. Still a really cool project. do you have any more photos of the whole gun with that modshot palm swell? the one you had posted is pretty close up. I'm very interested in the TG9 trigger but i've read a lot of similar reports saying that they're not sure if it is worth the price. Would be cool if more companies came out with some trigger upgrades. I recently reached out to Brimestone Gunsmithing to see if they would do anything for the PC carbine, their 10/22 trigger job is pretty awesome and they are local to me, waiting to hear back from them. I think the Tandemkross stock looks interesting. waiting to see the specs and how much it weighs. I have already tried the midwest industries chassis but wound up selling it because it was to heave and bulky. Would be cool to see a lightweight polymer chassis system for the pc carbine. I am thinking the Magpul backpacker stock looks like a good option too.
  16. That's funny you bring this up i was just thinking that would be a great setup. i actually have the Taccom3g handguard ordered, should be here tomorrow. You'd think the magpul stock would be at least a little bit lighter. I agree the angle of the grip should be nicer too. I'll probably wind up getting the magpul stock once it comes out.
  17. A video would be great if you get time [emoji106] Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  18. that's true. That makes $240 for the volquarsten trigger on a $500 pc carbine not that bad. I wish there were more reviews out on the Volquarsten trigger. I've read some guys like it but some think it's not worth it. I havent seen any Youtube videos on it yet.
  19. That's good to know. To be honest i actually dont mind the factory trigger, i just wish it had a shorter reset and a little bit more tactile feel to it. it's a little to soft/mushy for me.
  20. I think the Volquartsen TG9 looks awesome but i'm having a hard time wanting to spend that much money. I wish they would make a dedicated trigger kit for the Ruger PC Carbine vs having to piece together one from a 10/22 kit.
  21. Has anyone heard of this company? Thoughts? https://ruger1022triggers.com/collections/hornet-custom-triggers-ruger10-22/products/new-ruger-pc-carbine-enhanced-11-piece-drop-in-trigger-kit-3-5-lb-pull Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  22. i just recently swapped my extractor for the exact edge from Mcarbo. I was surprised at the difference between it and the factory piece. definitely looks to be a big improvement.
  23. Cool i'll check that out. because mine is just a plinker right now i probably wont mess with the internals of the trigger to much. I did change the trigger shoe for the Mcarbo version though and i do like the flatter trigger face better. it did come with a screw that i had to adjust on the trigger shoe itself for over travel. mine now stops right after the trigger breaks. I wish there was a way to shorten the reset though. that's my biggest complaint with the factory trigger.
  24. did you consider the mcarbo or tandemkross trigger? I believe they both have a screw built in to adjust over travel? Also, i'm very new to all of this, what did you do with your "standard trigger job" to get it down to 2.5lb? thank you! Jordan
