  1. Scotch tape works great. Stand in front of a mirror and look at your eye through your shooting glasses. You only need to cover your eye...not the entire lense. You will "see" when you do it what I'm talking about.
  2. Matt you're going to be OK. You don't have an eye dominance problem. Usually when one says they have an eye dominance problem they are a RIGHT handed shooter with a LEFT eye dominance. That is what I am. You are a RIGHT handed shooter with a RIGHT eye dominance. Your problems I'm sure will work themselves out as you continue to refine your grip and stance. One way to train your eyes to shoot with both eyes open is to put scotch tape on your shooting glasses (the non dominant eye...which is left for you). I think if you try this in dry fire, you will learn a lot. Welcome to the sport and to the forum! My husband suggested that I read Brain's book, Practical Shooting when I first began to shoot. It really helped me. You might want to consider picking up a copy. And yes...you did the eye dominance test correctly. Best of luck as you begin your journey.
  3. I agree with LET HIM SHOOT. As a woman, I know that too much advice too soon is not much fun. Sometimes we all need, "A little less talk, and a lot more action." However, I too am a right handed, left eye dominant shooter. Here are some tricks that have helped me on my journey. 1. Scotch tape on the shooting glasses to the right eye 2. Isosceles shooting stance. For me this means feet shoulder width apart and my left foot back about 4 inches. 3. Find your natural point of aim. When I changed my feet (left foot back a little) I found my natural point of aim. There is no sweeter feeling than to bring your gun up from a draw and be right on target If your friend really wants to know more...let me be the first to say....buy him Brian's book.
  4. You know you're a shooter when.....you read the categories/items offered on Shooters Connection and you KNOW what everything is! That just happened to me.
  5. I do the same as ima45dv8 with .40's . . . no problems.
  6. Rumpy, I do this with all swingers!!! I hope more people reply because I'm looking for some answers for myself.
