For problem 1, be sure to push the handle forward at the end of the upstroke-this both seats the primer and pushes the case into the shellplate. It is suggested to tighten the die lock nut with a case up in the die;this ensures the die is straight in the toolhead.
problem 2- case should be flared at least .010" larger than the mouth of a sized, unflared case.
problem 3- be sure you are using the F powder funnel; as well the size die, does it almost touch the shellpalte? Is it really a size die?
I was thinking this guy is good, then I looked over to see who the poster was. DUH!

It's easy and makes a difference, I use a small brass hammer and go slow. Both of my G17 open guns and my G35 limited gun have been tightened.

On a 650 the 223 shell plate is what you are supposed to use with 38 Super Comp and the 9mm shell plate is for the 38 Super.

You want a powder slow enough to keep pushing the bullet till it exits the barrel. I use 5.1 grains of AA #7 and 147 or 145 grain hard cast bullets, very accurate.

I use 115 grain bullets so that I can put more powder behind them, which will push them faster (to make MJ), but the main reason is the powder. With a lighter bullet you use more powder. More powder equals more gas. More gas equals working the comp more efficiently. Working the comp more effectivley equals less muzzle flip, recoil, better dot tracking, etc. Per USPSA, minimum weight for a bullet to make major is 112 grains. With the 115's, you have to push them really fast to make major, but in doing so, you end up making more gas....
Ok that makes sense! But do you ever have any problems making the steel fall with that light bullet??
Major is major. It has the near the same (actually more) kinetic energy as a 200 FMJ from a 45 going 850 FPS. How you figure power factor is the velocity of the bullet times the weight of the bullet divided by 1,000. So if you have a 200 grain 45 caliber slug moving at 850 FPS, that gives you a power factor of 170. A 115 grain bullet with a velocity of 1,500 FPS has a power factor of 172.5. Since major is anything over 165 in USPSA (175 in IPSC), and all steel must be calibrated to fall at even minor power factor (which is 125), no problem with steel.
I've seen a video of a rail gun where they shot a #2 wooden pencil THROUGH a 2" piece of armor plate. IIRC, it was moving upwards of 34,000 FPS.

I have a couple of 32 round gun show mags (S&W Model 39) for my Camp 9 that need to have the springs replaced. The closest thing I've found is a 32 round AR 9mm mag spring from Brownells, do you think that would work?. I have an inquiry into Wolff but they haven't got back to me yet any ideas?

I shot a carbine match with Iain yesterday, he invited us to a viewing party at a sports bar last night I had people stop by unexpectedly and couldn't make it. He was going to be the color commentator I think it would have been fun sorry I missed it.

I have 2 open guns with Quinn rackers one has the ball in the slide and the other has it in the racker they both work fine. I was concerned that the alum. on the racker may not stay staked but so far so good. The 713-035-000 Crane Ball & Spring Kit from Brownells is what was used on my guns.

The trigger has a lot of take up on the first shot but for follow up shots the reset is very short. And it is about a 1/4 inch narrower than a G26/G27. I was looking into the Kahr PM9 I know it's a quality pistol but I'm just not fond of that long trigger pull even though it is very smooth. Thanks for your input Tim.

I had an early one it was a 1961 with a blue printed 1100cc motor. It was a great car, fast handled great I'm sure the new ones are about a 1000% better.

From what I've seen and read about this pistol it seems pretty nice. Does anybody have any first hand experience shooting or carrying this pistol? I already have a Ruger LCP and a Glock G27, I'm not crazy about the long trigger on the Ruger and the Glock is a little thick.

You can buy 8 round STI mags from Shooters Connection for $12.00, they are the dreaded ACT-MAGS but work 100% for me.

I've gone threw 10,000 Wolf SP with no problems in my STI open guns with 1.75# triggers but have about a 2% failure rate in my Glock open guns with sub 2# triggers. I bought some Remington SP for an upcoming Glock match (got robbed at $3.49 a box) tested them out the night before OMG I have never had such a high failure rate with any primer only about half of them went bang. Probably would work fine in my STI's but in a Glock with a light trigger or a revolver, forget about it. I had to scramble to find some Winchester SP and load up 300 rounds, they all went bang.

Everyone,
I am looking for a cheap red dot to mount on my 22/45 using the factory rail. I plan to use it for plinking and steel challenge. What should I get?
Allchin makes a mount for a C-More that pretty cool and Midway has a bunch of cheap red dots I have a Walther on the way for an AK plinker that cost me $37.53 and it had good reviews.

Mike I was disappointed to see you eliminated so early because of my own selfish interest. I don't know you but your skills are common knowledge and I would have loved to see you along with J.J. and a couple of others represent practical shooters. I'm sure your bummed that you didn't get to play a little longer but with this format no matter what your skill level you have many other factors involved and you are always just a vote or two from getting the hook. The best thing we can do as a community is talk up the show to our friends and co-workers and take it for what it is, entertainment with guns, and when you think about it that's not bad. Well like others have said your a class act I hope someday I have the pleasure of shooting with you.

Since my reloads aren't too hot I should be fine with a 14# recoil spring. What is the standard mainspring weight? 19#? Are ISMI or Wolff recommended and why?
Factory standard mainspring is 23#, I run a 17# mainspring and a 14# recoilspring.

Should I buy Larue lt649 mt. & Aimpoint multiplier

I was at a gun shop today and on the discount table their was a Larue #LT649 mount and Aimpoint multiplier for $50.00. Im not sure what the power was on the multiplier was but should I run back and get that tomorrow if only to pass on a good deal to somebody else? The mount said Larue and had the model # on the bottom and the multiplier said Aimpoint on the top are their knockoffs out there?
