  1. Is it dead or just postponed some more?

We know that many of you have been anxiously awaiting an update on the DWX, and as you all know, the COVID-19 Pandemic has drastically effected businesses world-wide through lockdowns, illness, and supply chain issues. Dan Wesson has been no exception.
Over the last year, we have come close to being able to ship the DWX multiple times, but each attempt has been met with obstacles and set-backs along the way. Due to these delays, and challenges we continue to face, we have decided to halt promotion of the DWX.
We understand that this will be a disappointment to many—us included—however, we pride ourselves on quality and we want to ensure that every pistol that leaves our facilities can meet the standards that we have set and that our customers deserve. We will continue to be committed to the DWX project until it meets these standards.

Per Dan Wesson’s Instagram account, the DWX is officially dead for now (at least from a promotion point of view).

Was really looking forward to buying one, the same as many of you.  I guess its TS2 time then

I wonder what they are doing for testing? I would think there has to be some out in the wild somewhere with a big hoss pulling the handle seeing what breaks first. Without testing and selling them letting the customer beta test is gonna be a potential mess.

probably giving one to gavintoobe for one of his glowing paid youtube reviews and "real world" testing

  4. Arent those sig 22X series knockoffs?

The only factory pistol that meets all your specs is the Arex Zero. Comes in a factory optics ready version, manual safety (as well as decocker), alloy frame, compact service pistol size.

I would highly recommend getting a P07 and getting it milled for an optic. Great gun and works great with optics like the RMR/Holosun. I would also highly recommend learning to run the gun in DA and going with a decocker instead of a safety, but of course that is your choice.

Thanks for finding that, not sure why I couldn't...

Yeah, but 22.1 still gives me pause, especially without a specific allowance for converting safety/decocker to decocker only, especially with the special conditions that specifically deal with modifications. Yeah, they're factory parts, but a safety that was once there is no longer there, and the slide still says "92FS Brigadier"

Sure would be nice if they published these things when the person in charge says they're allowed, for clarity if nothing else. I had the same issue with grinding down the thumb safeties on my 92X Performance to fit the box. Got an e mail reply from NROI saying it's ok to grind them down, but nothing that would be "an official, published NROI interpretation".

    SPECIAL CONDITION 5:

UNLESS a modification is SPECIFICALLY authorized in the rules or SPECIFICALLY authorized in an official, published NROI interpretation, it is considered a PROHIBITED MODIFICATION.

    22.1

Disabling of any external safety or externally operated safety External and externally operated safety mechanisms must remain operable. Special Notes/Clarifications:

For purposes of this clause, a “trigger safety” is externally visible, and must remain operable.

For purposes of this clause, the prohibition on “disabling” means that you may NOT modify an external safety mechanism in any way that affects its function as a safety per the OFM design.

For purposes of this clause, a magazine disconnect is NOT considered a safety mechanism, and may be removed.

Grip tape or grip sleeves cannot disengage a grip safety Please note that other clauses in the body of the competition rules require that a “trigger mechanism must, at all times, function safely” (5.1.4), that handguns must be “serviceable and safe” (5.1.6) and that the Range Master is the final authority on the definition of “safety” as it

pertains to the mechanism of the gun (8.1.2.4). It is the competitor’s responsibility to be able to demonstrate at any time that all factory safety mechanisms are functional,

regardless of whether they are internal or external.

I was with you 100% on that interpretation and had a CRO at a level 2 tell me the same thing after citing the same as you poste.  I'm going off of that email from Troy as it being GTG.

I remember either asking or seeing it somewhere from NROI that as it's a factory part, making the gun identical to an existing factory gun, it's no problem, but I can't for the life of me find where I saw it. If I was going to a major match, I might want to look for something published and definitive, but for local or club matches, nobody's going to be bothered with whether your FS marked gun has the G conversion installed. They have more important things on their minds, like finding someone to video their run...

    covered in here

  7. i reached out to DZshooting referenced above.  He uses the gopro max and the gopro software to give the effect of tracking him.  nothing fancy on the software end which was a surprise.  I usually have someone record me with my camera and rock the old gopro hero 3 thats like 10 years old on my head, but will probably look into the gopro max and a 13' tripod behind the fault lines to record my stages going forward.

  8. I have the RMR mounted to the rail on the victory and its been annoyingly too high over the barrel.  Whats the best mount to replace the whole top rail or rear sight for both guns that you have found success with?   I did some google searches and just like the glock options, quality varies, albeit nothing is cycling the sight back and forth.

  9. The internal gears ability to handle constant adjustment and staying true to the travel for that particular number of clicks and them moving the listed adjustment amount.  High quality reticles, and high quality glass.  Several companies use the same oem to make their scopes but the prices and quality differ greatly due to the guts of the finished product.

  10. I just saw that Dawson Precision did not have no gap listed on their site, so I called them.  They confirmed Mr Dawson discontinued carrying those items.  I have a few questions.  Has anyone broken an insert for their ICE magwell?  Would the no gap base pad equipped magazines work with the gap magwell insert without  over insertion being a risk during a mag change or would the gap allow for an over insertion??
