  1. LEE hand loader kit (in a box) with little mallets, fiber wads, and dippers for shotshells. Then LEE Loadall, then MEC 600. Then RCBS (3032) series. Then a RockChucker. Added Dillon XL650 (life changing), then Mr. Bulletfeeder. now very impatiently awaiting my RL1100 with Ammobot Rev3.
  2. Thanks Greg, I think the idea of processing first makes good sense, especially if I automate. I have ordered the Judge die and will take your advice. Thanks!
  3. Thanks ltdmstr, I will be on the lookout for a counter
  4. Thanks for the input. I plan to iron out all of the kinks manually before automating.
  5. Thanks ltdmstr. I have the Redding dies ready to go in. Do you use the sizing die in place of the standard Dillon, or in sequence with it as some others do with the U-die? Which Cartridge counter do you recommend?
  6. I have been reloading for many years but recently caught the IPSC bug. Shooting a much higher volume of 40S&W has me on the waitlist for a new RL1100 (previously loaded pistol on XL650 for 25yrs with recent addition of Mister Bullet Feeder). I also have ordered an Ammobot to drive everything, Berdan primer sensor, and a MBF. I will be loading mainly 40S&W, but also 9mm. Can any of you experienced Dillon 1050 operators give me suggestions on dies, sensors, etc that would make my life easier? My current die setup on my 650 is Lee U die, Redding Comp bullet seater, Lee factory crimp die. Do i need the primer pocket sensor? Judge die? Burly shell plate?
  7. pjb45, are you saying that you put the u die in the swager station?.
  8. If this doesn’t work, roll sizer! To hell with the kids’ tuition.
  9. Thanks ltdmstr, I have the Redding comp pro titanium carbides on order. They will probably beat the RL1100 here by Several weeks.
  10. I have reloaded for over 30yrs but have been reloading 40sw (mainly) and 9mm on my xl650 extensively since getting into IPSC about a year ago and have been frustrated with the number of rounds that fail the case gauge. Switching to the Lee U die and factory crimp die has helped, but really increases the effort and I have had a lot of index ring and even shell plate breakage (2) which I believe is due to having the U die screwed down far enough to remove the Glock bulge in my range pick up brass. I also frequently have crushed brass at the U die station due to tight base of die. I am on the wait list for a RL1100 in 40SW and am considering the Redding Comp Pro dies. Will this sort out my problems? Any thoughts?
  11. Thanks, right on the money. Disassembled again, realigned comp, all good now. Thanks for your help!
  12. Just got my new Czechmate. Went through disassembly, wiped it down and applied Froglube. Then, when I reassembled, all is very tight. Slide will reassemble without recoil spring and guide rod perfectly. With the recoil spring and guide rod, it seems to hang up on the trigger assembly. Any thoughts on how to sort this out? Haven’t even shot it yet!
