Glad you're ok.
A word of advice though. Don't take your glasses off while someone's messin with a malfunctioning gun.
If it would have been a different problem and it went off while the RO was messing with it, it probably would have hit close and sprayed debris.

Don't know if this topic is like a rash all over this forum, and don't much care. I would think that the more often this particular lesson is brought up the better.
I'm a tinkerer, especially with my guns. I would prefer to "learn by doing" when it comes to tuning up than pay a smith. (mainly because I can't afford it.....) Don't get me wrong, I don't do any major work, just little stuff here and there. Well today, that certianly came back to haunt me. I was tinkering with my competition gun last week trying some "improvements" offered by a local gunsmith. Well everything was all well and good until I got to the match. Not one live round was put through the firearm before the match, and it was my downfall. I turned what could have been a fairly simple string into a minute and a half embarassing nightmare. The first few shots went off without a hitch, then the cylinder stopped turning, and I couldn't rotate it out to reload without some serious effort. This continued for a few reloads and I finally finished the stage, but at the expense of some serious emabarssment and about an hour of good natured ribbing.
Lesson here, if you are brave (read: dumb) enough to muss with your gun and you aren't a gunsmith, make sure it works before competing with it.
Been there, last match I thought I had a mussed up recoil spring. Grabbed the replacement out of my bag and threw it in.
Yeah, open glock + limited gun spring = single shot.
I was doing good, it was on the last stage. Zero'd it so we didn't run short on time to finish gettin everyone through the courses.

I put 5k rounds through my G22 last season from Black Bullets International, with no cleaning.
The end of the season cleaning was quick and easy. I didn't really feel like it was any dirtier than cleaning an open glock shooting JHP.
Though, if I was switching between moly and jacketed, I would probably clean in between just in case.

I had my trigger spring break during a course, and somehow it bound up and the gun went full auto for 5 or 6 rounds. I carry a full set of all internals, pre-tuned and packaged together, for each of my limited guns and one for my open gun.
At that match I didn't have parts. luckily someone had a spare and hooked me up.
I abuse the heck out of my guns, but they only have problems when JP is in my squad. Nothing says embaressment like having your gun f-up when you got a great shooter timing you. =/
Now I just carry 2.

I get 28 in my 170mm with TF pad, but I usually use it on a reload so I only load to 27.
Barely use it anymore though. gotta reload once anyway, and it's cumbersome out of a holster or from a mag pouch.

I'd have to look at the case feeder more closely, but I'd think you could rig up a bracket to attach a lee pretty easily.
Add that with some super long tubes(since it wouldn't move) and you could maybe get close to 200 cases per fill.

Thanks everyone.
I'm leading an audit by my companies biggest supplier on tuesday, so the stress level is high on top of all this.
Nothing ups the stress level like having a 12m a year customer on your shoulders. And having stuff at home go south.

On another note.
The only thing that REALLY got to me was my car.
You do not steal, you do not rape, you do not murder. These are things all people, of all races, and all religions should abide by.
Especially a stupid 20 dollar ring binder, with about 200 course drawings in it.

First my water heater died, then we found out the pipes were paper thin in the basement.
replaced all those.
then the main valve for the heater wasn't up to code.
replaced that.
then the gas lines for both weren't up to code. The shut offs were on the furnace and heater, so you couldn't shut off gas to them to disconnect.
fixed that.
then my washing machine broke
fixed that.
Then my dishwasher broke.
no hope here. Doin em by hand til after christmas.
Then my brakes started squealing on my car.
Not a car guy, never done em, but managed to figure it out myself for cheap.
Tonight at my daughters tap/ballet class someone smashed the window on my car to steal my binder with all my course descriptions, and receipts for the matches I ran this year.
FML.

I actually just purchased 2 of the fulcrum kits and a couple extra connectors.
One of the kits had the lightened striker, one didn't. I ended up switching both guns to LS Ti strikers, cause they felt better.
But as far as the connectors go with the fulcrum triggers, the GW race connector felt the best. I've got a ghost, LW, and stock 3.5
With a regular trigger in my other glocks, they seem decent. I don't have a trigger pull gage. But I liked the reset more than the stock 3.5.

I've got all 3.
Taylors are nice, harder to take apart
Arredondo's I like the feel of, but I'm always afraid of the bottom popping off
Dawsons look the best IMO, and are easy on/off, but I've had to mess around with them to get 19 rounds.
Pretty sure I have... 2 arredondos, 5 dawsons, and 4 taylors
It's nice having enough mags loaded to be able to shoot 4-5 stage matches without having to load any.

I have a 1018 rod that I've had to use once or twice.
It's harder than brass, WAY softer than a barrel. But if it's stuck good, there's less of a chance you mushroom your rod and get that stuck as well.
(don't ask)

I'm interested as well. Got a couple slides to do.

I shoot 180gr from Black Bullets International, and I've shot thousands without cleaning and there's still no visible leading.
Guess I haven't worried about chronoing since my brass looks fine, and my barrel looks pretty clean.
Using 5.5gr Alliant Unique
Out of a Glock 22

No problem.
I'm 27.
That's kind of the reason I picked up the hobby.

Last weekend, my girlfriend bought me a very nice new churchwarden pipe.
Nothing beats ending a day at the range cleaning, with a good pipe.
Also, she got a local Cherry burley/virginia blend from a tobacconist in St. Paul.
that came the day I got my new AR put together and test fired/sighted in.
Pictures to follow.

For those that can't read it I saved it as an interactive web page which should allow anyone to view it.
Tim thanks for adding to the list. I made it easy for those without excel to view.
IE Click here
All Others: Click here
Thanks JT.
I should look at having that put up on my webpage.

For further clarification, I'm looking to expand this to other common calibers used for USPSA or other shooting practices.
Kind of a reference place for what other shooters are using.
-
I'm looking to expand it to the caliber sections I posted it in. As I know I don't ever read calibers I don't shoot, I figured others might do the same.
Guess if it's a problem I'll just delete them.
I THOUGHT people used the 9mm spreadsheet and might enjoy having other caliber data collected and organized all in one place.
-
yeah, looking to make it more into a "common USPSA loads" sheet, with 40, 45, 9mm, 223, and 308.
-
I'm looking at expanding the 9mm major spreadsheet I made, to include other major/minor loads.
For rifle, I plan on adding .223 and .308
Unless anyone requests other data.
If anyone would like to donate information, please email it to warner@9x23.net
I need:
type of gun, barrel length/ports, Bullet mfg./weight/type
Powder
Primer
OAL
and either a Low/High/Avg velocity or 5+ recorded velocities.
Thank you

Don't they call shooting without the dot on, Limited?
