I personally like being able to see the gap  more on both sides of the front sight and having them being equal. Some people like the wider sight so they see less gap. It’s personal preference. I feel when shooting doubles or faster under pressure shots being able to tell if the gap is bigger left to right when the sight is returning to position will help with shot calling. Granted your grip is right and the front sight is tracking right back into the sight picture after your shots. I also feel like the thinner front sight at distance helps at further shots. Like a mini popper at 25 yards. Having a wider sight might just cover the whole popper, vs the thinner you’d still might be able to see the parts of the popper. I would try to find someone with one to try if possible. What I like, you might not like.

    I run .090 w and .240h.

Not going back to factory. Dawson is my only choice now.

A .090 really help, but I do need to make sure my grip is  right.

Same front sight that I prefer. I use it on both of my shadow 2s. I like have the extra gap in between. I feel like it helps for the longer distance shots and shot calling. YMMV

  1. I’ve dealt with both places and have had really great experiences with both. You can go wrong either way. Be careful with which safety you pick from Cajun. The one they have listed for the shadow 2 and Tactical sports is the one you already have. I believe you’re looking for this one.

I believe cz custom is out of stock

I personally use the CZCustom Extended safety. My thumb was still to short to reach the shadow 2 safety. YMMV

You might also want to try a WTB in the market place Incase anyone has a spare laying around.

  2. I had no issues with CCI mini-mag. I did however have issues with an 11.5 hammer spring. It only set off the ammo in double action only. I had no issues with the factory hammer spring.

  3. I can’t wait to see all the

Optic ready CZs more readily available in the states. Is the weight with or without a magazine? I feel like I had to jump hoops to make 45oz. If I’m not mistaken IPSC doesn’t have weight for their carry optics.

  4. I didn’t run into any problems with primers until below an 11.5 lbs hammer spring with the stock firing pin and  spring. I however ran into problems with mixing a  CZ custom extended firing pin with a CGW reduced power spring and vice versa. The firing pin was getting stuck in the hole. Mine actually went full auto until the firing pin block stop fell out and shot the firing pin back. I am running a shadow 2 though so YMMV

  5. The disco replacement for me keeps my SA  pull more consistent. If you can shoot off the reset or don’t mind pre travel before your pull, you might not need it. For me the biggest difference is that it takes up almost all the pre travel. The  trigger is pretty stays at the reset point.

I swapped to a 11.5 pound mainspring and a 11 pound recoil spring. Also did some polishing of the internals and added Lok Palmswell Bogies. I have to admit I am tempted to add CGW parts to see how much better it can get.

I run the same set up but with a t5 disco

  7. From my understanding, only if the window cuts are made to the slideit won’t be Eligible for production division. There are a few people who make weight without the window cut depending on the starting weight of the pistol, mods(plastic guide rod, light grips) and which optic. It would still be eligible for limited division with the cut and the plate though.

  8. @minnesota1 Is your shadow 2 Stock? In regards to your question, when you mean same, do you mean trigger weight or trigger pull distance? If it’s trigger pull weight, I agree with the above and a lightened main spring may be what you’re looking for.  I have short fingers and I installed The Reach reduction kit and it pulls the trigger a few millimeter back for the double action. The trigger is permanently more reward in the gun. it also shortens the reset of the single action.

  9. Oak hill has All of the p10 line up listed with prices on their site. Hopefully they don’t float too far from what the have up. From what I’ve been seeing, CZ USA will be debuting them at shot show. No word on a release.

  10. I went with the double alpha x on my tso. There are two different inserts for the tso depending on which trigger guard you get. All the 2018’s I’ve seen so far have came with the Czechmate trigger guard which would be the TS/Czechmate insert.

  11. Great write up! I’m  glad to see Shadow 2s  run pretty much flawlessly with high  counts . How have the slide stops been holding up?  Have you had any issues with setting off primers running the 11.5  lbs hammer spring? I’ve been using the 13 lbs  hammer spring and have had no problems, but wanted to see if I’d have any reliability issues with the 11.5 lbs. What height Dawson front sight have you been using?
