  1. I have had my X-carry milled for RMR, and my Legion is currently in line to be milled for the SRO. I have chosen to get the slide milled because the plate site the optic higher then I like, im hoping to have it back in 2 weeks.

  2. I struggled to replace the mag release on my X-carry an while back, I found out that putting the grip module in a bench vise to squeeze the mag release will free up that 2nd hand to work with the paper clip and a small flat head, this worked best imo. The crazy thing is that I have never had an issue with the mag release on my X5, go figure...

  3. Cherokee Gun range, River Bend Gun Club, South River gun club, all these ranges host Monthly USPSA matches. There are also some indoor matches during the week at a few ranges in those areas you mentioned. If you are ok with a 2-2.5hr drive you can also shoot at Strong Point Gun range and CMP Talladega, all these ranges host clubs that put on great matches every month, weather permitting of course. This time of year we will get Severe pop up thunder storms, unfortunately this gets in the way of our shooting in the Atl & surrounding Areas.

FYI, Practiscore is the best way to find out Times, dates, addresses, and of course register for all these matches.

I don't know about any IDPA matches except for a couple Indoor ranges, which can be found on Practiscore as well.

  4. RMR window is very small and not "competition" use friendly. I'd go with the X5 for the bull barrel, most of the other components are identical minus the preference of the 90* flat trigger or the curved. If you prefer the Standard Full-size Grip module you can order one for $40 from Sig.

Can you find someone who wants 2 super comp barrels and swap to get a spare 9mm one or are  the barrels hand fitted like a normal 2011?

I think this is very possible. In my talks with Tiffany in MS, she explained to me that because the guns are all built with almost the exact tolerances, very little if any fitting is required. I was amazed, but also a bit skeptical. I was not educated enough to know how that could be done so I called a buddy of mine that is a CNC 3axis machinist in the airline industry. He said this is VERY possible when the company has the right equipment/tooling and has control over every aspect of the manufacturing process. He said that most times when there are issue's with tolerances not matching up, its due to the manufacture out sourcing multiple components of the overall component, the Machines are so advanced now days the tolerances can be made to what ever the company desires when they have control over the entire manufacturing process. I'm planning on ordering one the beginning of next yr, I will definitely be looking to swap a 9 major barrel for a 38SC lol

Those two limited guns are grossly overpriced. I don’t see why a limited only option couldn’t hit that price point and swallow up the open market for it.

It might be grossly over priced to you, but it doesn't stop hundreds of shooter's from buying one even 2 each yr.

I do not own a Honcho so I have no skin in the game. Here's my experience with on first hand. I got to put some rounds through one at 9 days of Nationals in a warm up bay with the 38SC open setup. IMO, the guns is heavy (compared to its competition, but I like it), but is rock solid, like Chris & Steven have said the gun shoots crazy soft! The gun yet heavy swings easy from target to target, I was able to get double taps on an A zone plate that was set at 20-25yrd in the bay, and the trigger was very nice (felt like 2-1.5lbs) with a positive rest. Oh yeah, at this point I was not an open shooter so the Blast to the face was new. A friend of mine ordered one when they first released, the gun has been very reliable and the only issue was he broke a mag release 2 weeks ago, PT sent him 2 new ones a few days later. I have seen him shoot a 6" plate at 40yrds with ease. this gun shoots a local if not 2 every weekend and has shot several majors with me, the gun has run like a sewing machine. I am fairly new to USPSA (18months) so I was not familiar with the link-less system. This year at the Mississippi Classic I was able to talk with the "Honcho" and Tiffany about the system, after talking to them both for more then an Hr I was convinced that its a great product, i had to have one. They gave me their undivided attention and never once tried to "sell me on the gun" they just answered my question's.

There are some hotties, but judging by the old man styling of your shoes I’d say we are in a different age bracket, so to each his own.  At some point I’m coming to a match in Georgia and we’ll hash this out.  Loser has to wear toe shoes

    DEAL  lol

I wanted to give the Boombas a try, but most of the reviews I read said they were extremely stiff and uncomfortable for all day wear. I have Salomons now and they aren’t the most comfortable either. I really wish Lowa made a lighter weight trail shoe. Something similar to the Zephyr, but in a lower top. I’d buy a lifetime supply of them....but based on the wear of my Zephyrs, I’d only have to buy 4-5 pair and I’d be set for life

Were you looking at the hellcat's or another model? Boombah is a company that caters to softball & baseball predominately, my 7yr old draught plays softball and ive found that most of the cleats/turf shoes now day are a very stiff plastic. Now as far as the Hellcat's, they are not stiff at all, they required no "break-in" time and the only portion of the shoe I might consider stiff would be the sides of the heel, but that's going to be the case for almost every trail runner/turf shoe on the market. I can also tell you that the tread holds up 100x better on the Boombah's compared to the Salomon's.

You are out of your mind.  I have to beat the ladies off with a stick when I wear my Ivon8’s.

I'm terrified to know what the ladies in Oklahoma look like then. LMAO

  9. I wore Salomon's Speedcross 4's for the first 18 months of shooting USPSA, I bought the wide version about 4 months after buying my first pair. The main issue I ran into with the Salomon's was that the Toe box was too small for my feet and would scrunch up my toes (even with the wide version). When I was initially shopping for Salomon's I made it a point to try and find them locally and try them on, I had to go up 1 whole size because of them not being wide feet friendly. 5 months ago I made the switch to Boombah's Hellcat trail runner's, the tread pattern is very similar to Salomon's but they are wider in the toe box. They are 100x more comfortable and they are 1/2 the cost (Amazon) of Salomon's. This will be the only shoe I wear for shooting unless I find something with better comfort, performance, and looks.

I didn't even consider Inov8's because they are ugliest shoe I've ever seen, right behind Chuck Taylor's. Yes I'm that shallow lol.

This sound like a bigger issue than an occasional malfunction. I don't think the optic will last long if it's being constantly hit by ejected brass.

12k rounds on my X5 with Romeo 1, all 12k have hit the optic housing. knock on wood the dot is still going strong

  11. I only have the Grip module & the Tungsten guide rod, but the gun is 100x better in feel, recoil pulse, and it even shoots flatter.  The gun currently weighs 40oz with the optic. IMHO it is money well spent.

  12. I'm going to grab a pound of 3N38 and maybe one more and see where that takes me. I am definitely liking the idea of lower powder drops to help prevent spillage, that removes the possibility of inconsistent chrono results.

Longshot makes a  lot of gas and lower powder drops to make major..it is loud but flat..I run it it in my PCC..N 105 for minor (Steel) and major Tru Blue are my  go to choices after trying 6 or 7 diff powders.

Your gun bullet config will determine which powder keeps the dot movement minimal.

is the Tru Blue reverse temperature sensitive?
