  1. Just wanted to make sure, thanks again for saving me time and money. Looks like ILWT's new barrels come with .055 port now. So the over gassed theory with the .0625 is confirmed.
  2. Restricted plug and increased power springs are working out great. Ejection 10 to 15 feet at 2 o'clock with Blazer 115's. Thank You so much jlo86cj ! Now my new JP drop-in modular trigger won't reset. Ran over gassed too long I guess, ate it up in 6 months. I'm going with the Hyperfire competition trigger unless you recommend the Timney MPX trigger. I hear good things about the ELF AR9 trigger also. A little help please?
  3. I was told on the MPX reloading data page that the .0625 port hole in the ILWT barrels is too much gas. jlo86cj uses the .052 restricted gas plug and 20% increased power springs. He just ordered another ILWT barrel with .052 port so he can use the open gas plug.
  4. I have an extra piston but 5 sets is serious. Hopefully there will be less carbon with the new restricted plug.
  5. The larger gap was due to the carbon build-up under the rings, you are right. When I clean plug/piston I scrub the outside and throw them in the ultrasonic. So am I supposed to take rings off and clean groove every time? If I'm careful with the rings can they be reused? I have extra of both types of rings. Do you have to use the Mcfarland style ring on the plug? It's harder to remove it for cleaning without bending it. Groove is clean as new now, new rings can compress. I'm going to take your advise about the gas and your load data. Thank You again very much!
  6. Thanks for the reply, I'm going to try. I clean the plug and piston in the ultrasonic all the time. When I was rotating the rings around I noticed one gap bigger than the others, the tip was broke off. I really spent a lot of time scraping carbon out of the groove before installing new rings. The new rings are just making it more over gassed now. So what ejection angle are you trying for, 3 o'clock?
  7. I have the ILWT 6" barrel with opened up port, mid comp, and 9 inch shroud. I'm shooting CCI Blazer 115's at 129 PF. I have not developed a load for it yet. Gun is very clean, just put in new gas rings, Lucas extreme duty oil. Ejection is at 2 o'clock. I had 2 FTE's out of 300 rounds this weekend. It was working fine till I put in new gas rings. I thought it was under gassed and needed a higher PF. Sounds like I'm over gassed. Do you recommend the adjustable gas block or just the .052 plug? And the 20% more power springs? I shoot Steel Challenge and regularly have .2 second split times, so 5 rounds per second. I had a 7.25 second total time for Smoke and Hope at my monthly match. JP modular drop-in trigger helps. I'm trying to figure out what bullet weight and PF to use. Any help will be much appreciated, thanks
  8. Sorry the pics are so big. What's the theory on why the gas plug has Mcfarland style gas ring and the piston has 3 gas rings?
  9. rpm 8300, could you explain the use of ILWT reduced power recoil springs? What power factor are you using? You also recommend all ILWT replacement springs and parts? My first MPX I just put together has a Trijicon MRO, the new JP modular drop-in trigger, a ILWT 6 in barrel with mid comp pinned and welded with 9 in shroud pinned and welded. It came with the gas port at .0625. ILWT CF handguard with bushing for shroud and ILWT CF stock. It's about 5.5 pounds now. Shot my first Steel Challenge match with this set-up on Sat. A couple 1.7's and a couple 1.8's on Smoke and Hope for a 7.25 time. 84 seconds total for the 8 stages using 115 factory ammo. I haven't developed a reload for it yet. Thanks for the maintenance schedule!
  10. Thanks so much for the reply, I just want to practice the week before the match. Maybe come in as a guest or something
  11. I just called them. They told me that I have to be a member to use that range. How do you know about the day use pass? Thanks for the info
