Anyone on this thread mark their brass and have it affect the oil's viscosity after a few stages? Has it ever caused a FTF/FTE?
I use a thick red sharpie line on my brass for the best visibility in my environment and have found that after a few stages the marker dye is mixing with the oil causing the slide to slow down a bit. A few drops on the rails fixes it, but if I could find a better oil for my situation or a better way to mark brass that still allows it to be highly visible (thick lines vs thin line).
Yes, I’ve stopped marking my brass. The thick line (looks great btw) vaporizes and gums up everything in short order. I have the range panda max sharpie adapter for the DAA marker.

JHP all the way. Boretech C4 carbon cleaner and a brass pick is all we use for the comp.

Dryfiring this with a revo is crazy. The ability to pick up the hammer drops is awesome. Gives a lot of drive when you know to the hundreth's of a second that you are indeed speeding up.

My home range is on moraine land so over the years the gravel has mixed with sand to product the worse stickiest dust ever.
My open gun fell out of my holster at the safe table and the RO checked it and it was fine. However only got 1 shot off and somehow managed to finally get hammer down. Had to fully dissemble the gun at home.

Jason is a real good guy to deal with. Everything I've gotten shipped in USPS Flat rate boxes.
I love his stuff, just make sure if you call Jason you’ve got 90 minutes to spare!
His poppers are great in that they can be EASILY set for static presentation. Makes it easy to burn ammo, get 2 and go for endless transition drills until the gun gets too hot.

Nothing beats the Allchin 90 degree mount, it puts the dot just above the front sight

Off topic (sorta)…. I was joking to my wife that it sometimes isn’t that practical. I mean we don’t have stages shooting from moving cars.
It would have helped the 2 gangbangers in Toronto last night who both crashed while shooting at each other while (trying) to drive .One ended up crashing in someone’s house and the other was stopped by a tree.

Simple solution VVN320 3.2 seated at 1.180 to 1.175. 128 to 130 PF from Florida, Colorado to Louisiana and in between. Altitude from 13’ to 4700’ and temperatures from 80 to 50. Measures great and burns super clean.
Cost a little more but one less thing to worry about as you travel to matches across America .
Kurt showed me his 929 back in 2020 and I was surprised at how clean it was (he uses 231) but didn’t think much until I “ran out” on n320 last January. Turns out I just misplaced a few tubs but switched to 231 and that stuff is clean.
When I was demooning the 231 and n320 rounds together you could see the difference and the amount of crap on the towel was a lot less. Maybe a super heavy bullet and 2.8gr on n320 simply isn’t enough pressure to burn cleanly?
I sold the n320 at $75 more a tub than I paid for it, it’s crazy expensive if not impossible to find anymore.

I stocked up on N320 years back and one 3n37 snuck in. So when I dumped it in the hopper it was clearly NOT n320. Thankfully didn’t pour too much in and spooned out the 3n37 and the mix. I still have the mix in a bag and I’ve added to it over the years as I process brass and inevitably get live rounds.
one day it will make for some fun.

Just be aware wst is reverse temperature sensitive. It will lose velocity as the ambient temperature gets hotter.
Saw a bad example at the 2019 or 2020 MW icore regional, buddy failed chrono, not even close needed 800 and couldn't even get 720.
He had made 840 in march 30 degree weather, and even with lab radar couldn't get past 720 at 100 degrees at Columbia, mo.
It's an accurate, clean powder, but be cautious.
I believe it was 2019 and it was HOT and humid. We even tried tapping the case to get the powder up against the primer and gently loading the moon back it.
All to no avail.
the 2018 IRC was hotter (and higher) but no humidity and the matches were over by noon.

Nothing but berdan beats the S&B non-tox 9mm brass for tightness

The only problem I had were Kevin’s emails kept going to my spam folder for some reason.

Does Alpha X have good retention for running, good for 2 gun competitions?
No idea. Though to be honest if I sprint back to the line after patching I do put my hand over the gun. There isn’t much holding the gun in.

Alpha X. One for open and one for revolver. They are also great if flying as take one screw out and the holster body comes out and leaves the part against the belt unaffected (no readjustment!). The body fits nicely into my Salomon’s.

Creeping was the first issue I figured out. Wasn’t until I had our guns done by a competent smith (Olhasso) did they fire reliably. Light strikes were the issues I was having. And one day while wacking out rounds with light strikes I noticed they were all WIN and Federal. The blazer were all going bang.
just now I realized I take the unshot rounds out of match moons, tumble to clean and put them back in moons for match’s or practice. And I have never had a creep on me.
yrsracer has the formula. I think a u-die is essential

If you're using a dillon powder measure i think it's uniquetek that has a powder drop expander for.358 bullets. It does make a difference.
I have the UniqueTek die too.

I leave an indent on the projectile. Never had tumbling issues. Nor creeping rounds. Simply keep crimping until the creeping stops.

Spray silicone

A good disassembly, cleaning and silicone lube should fix it.
I’ve been using my alpha x holsters for years without issue for my open and revolver guns. They are great for flying as they disassemble with ease.

No limit. I’m sure I had some loaded for years when revo died up here around the c19 years.
there is no tension on my moons unlike a compressed mag spring. My wife had a production mag spring that died after staying loaded. Only figured it out after a match when she started every stage with a “click”. The stripper mag spring was dead.

fyi: I've read that most find the 124's to be more accurate out of a X5.

Try taking 4-8 grams of MSM a day. Powder is cheaper but it’s not great tasting but not the worst. I’ve been talking this for a few years now and have not had any issues I would expect after 30 years of weight training. In fact a lot less than I used to. Have not seen a chiropractor in years!

100% True. My open gun uses the C-more, the rest are SRO's. That C-more battery life sucks! Just switched to 2 A76 batteries on the C-more though, MUCH Brighter than a single 1/3N battery.
So the 2 A76 batteries don’t damage the sight? Might be something to try, I’ve got Sliderides on ALL my guns, Open, Revo and PCC.

Morro Bay is doable. Especially now with the insane cost of rental cars. So I get a cheaper points booking for the last flight of the day , use my Marriot points for a hotel and pick up a cheaper rental next morning at a place outside the airport that has usual biz hours and save a few hundred $.
It is also good insurance if the airport check in is a complete cluster **** in Toronto and the bags and guns don't make it and come in on the next day early flight around 1pm. Ask me how I know! Arriving 4hrs early just doesn't cut it anymore.....
A fellow IPSC shooter went to shoot the Euro handgun match 2 weeks ago and his guns stayed put in YYZ, thankfully someone lent him their backup.
USPSA Revolver Division Rule Change

No Americans are shooting IPSC in Canada. We have the “black badge” certification rule, though i know a few have attended L3’s in a past. Given they sell out quick, its not easy to get a spot.
We shoot revo in 8 shot minor or 6 shot major. I’m not sure I have seen anyone shoot 6 shot revo major. Maybe one guy but he can’t shoot and doesn’t anymore due to poor health.
And anyone who shoots IPSC revo has a dot gun or knows someone who could lend them one. Or for a few hundred, slap one one on an existing gun.
as for expensive, try open. The mags alone are big bucks (you’ll need 6 up here)
