  1. This is my very first GM run on any classifier. I was even shooting minor LO and they are using Open scores for the classification scores. 1 Charlie, 1 delta. Pretty dang proud of myself for this one. In CO and SS I'm a middle of the pack B class shooter.

Awesome looking blaster. Those slide cuts look nice.

have you tried a 8lbs recoil spring?  Might help the muzzle dip.

I haven't. I did switch to an IMSI 10lb spring because I was cleaning and somehow lost the recoil spring.

Shot buckeye blast and came in 7th of 16 shooters. No gun issues at all.

This past weekend I shot a quick classifier match at a local club with it. Ended up getting a 84.00 HF on 09-09 lightning and thunder. (Fixed time scoring) which is 0.6HF under a GM score. I had one delta and one Charlie.

Sunday I took it to another local and it ran 100%. I screwed up and forgot a popper on a stage which dropped me a good bit having the Mike and FTSA. But it was a fun match.

I think I'm around 3k rounds now give or take. I estimate round count by how many matches amd practice sessions I go to.

In the end I'm 100% happy with the gun, and new division. I'm seriously thinking about selling off a bunch of my other guns at this point.

  3. I loaded up some rounds at 9.4gn and will see how that does. Crazy thing to me is this load is what a few of my friends use and all are just about the same as far as PF goes. It did shoot REALLY flat though. And primers looked ok. No more flatter then normal really. But 1500FPS seems just a bit too fast to me.

We have a few people working in sensitive area who would be at risk of losing their job  (and some have) if their name/picture/video were to show up in social media in relation to a firearm.

Thats a choice they make though. Being on a video at a match is something that's almost a given now days. If there is a high potential of loosing your job if it happens maybe you shouldn't go to these types of events. There isn't a way to stop people from taking vids, or them making 100% sure you are not in it.

As for using a fake name on PS to hide your identity I guess but if you have to do that to keep your job see above comment.

I'm not trying to say it is fair or anything but it is the way life is.

Can't really argue with that, as long as you have a spare to use while the primary is off getting repaired.

That's my issue. Well one of them. The other is they didn't seem to happy with me asking if I could warranty a R3m that I'm not the original owner of.

I agree major LO isn't going to be a thing.   Stupid.   I shot Limited, and loved it, d until my eyes said no way.  I shot it even before I joined USPSA.  If that were not the case, I'd still be shooting Limited.  You obviously have zero experience shooting major with a slide mounted dot, or you wouldn't have said what you did.

9mm shooting is as popular as it is only because of the primer shortage.  You can buy suitable factory 9mm anywhere for reasonable prices.  I can buy 9mm factory for less than it would cost me to reload at today's prices for components.  I even shoot 9 minor now for some things, because I have to reload 40sw.  I'm saving primers for 9 major.

You sure like to assume a lot of things about me.

As for dots lasting on 40 major slide ride guns....... not gonna argue with you. You know more then everyone else in the game I guess. Im for sure not the only person who will tell you that a slide ride red dot isn't going to last on a 40 cal major gun.

Limited optics is just the name of the division. It honestly has nothing to do with actual limited guns. A limited gun as you already stated will shoot 40 minor softer then a 9 minor gun. So they can still send their guns off to get milled or put a dovetail adapter on them. And shoot major or minor. Nothing is stopping them. You also said the mag capacity was a non issue. So most of your argument is invalid from your own words.

40 cal is dead. Almost no major manufacturer makes 40cal guns that are red dot ready. And no major manufacturers 2011 comes factory 40cal. It's all 9mm.

This division was made for the HUGE ammount of people who have a 9mm SAO pistol with a slide ride red dot.

Anyways I'm done with this conversation.

everyone who seriously shoots steel challenge would disagree with you, and there was much cheering and happiness among competitors and RO's that the org finally stepped in to deal with the 'allergic' shooter in question.

Ahh but cussing and yelling at anyone by any staff member of a match shouldn't be allowed. Loosing your temper is exactly what got foley fired. Why is it different for DNROI?

Also I never said I agreed with the premise of the kid not having to paint. But honeslty I see a LOT of people who never reset at matches of all levels. In fact one of the ADs has that reputation. So really not helping reset isn't a valid reason for a staff member or match worker to loose their temper in front of everyone.

  8. @zzt you speak as if i havent shot limited. 40 major isnt really that hard to shoot. And if 40 minor is so so much better then 9 minor why does NOBODY shoot it in production at all? I've shot all over the east coast and seen 1 single person shoot anything in 40 minor and that was single stack.

Be mad, shoot go get a cape and be super mad. Major PF is not going to be a thing in LO.

So the FENIX 124 9mm practice ammo was a consistent 142.5 PF out of 2 different 1911's with 5" barrels at 32*F

Good luck with their ammo.... I see a lot of failures with it in multiple different guns. And had a lot of issues with it myself before I started reloading.

There are current Area Directors that have run uncontested in elections. The org is not as democratic as it appears. Historically, there have been multiple instances where multiple Area Directors were up for re-election and ran unopposed.

There is a current AD who actually can't hold the position becaise they are not and have never been an RO. Bylaws were changed before they took office. In fact this person had 167 days to get the cert before taking the position and didn't. Why are they still on the BOD?

Personally, when the smoke has cleared and the full details of this are made known, I would be surprised in the extreme to learn the sum total extent of the complaint on which the genesis of all this were limited to YML referring to Deltas as Dicks.  There has got to be something far more substantial than that to have generated all this.

I will wait and see ...

Yeah there is. YML is about transparency and getting rid of the USPSA swamp. The swamp needed a way to get rid of him and fast.

Fwiw I pulled out my 2011 limited 40, put a dot on it, egw adaptor, and loaded up some minor loads.

Still not putting the revolver up, but I'd bet that I won't be alone at local matches in LO.

Kind of excited about it too.

FWIW 40 minor is stupid soft shooting.

  13. Well she ran some of my buddies 9.8gn AA7 ammo tonight and promptly decided she loved it over the autocomp and HS6 loads I made up to chono. Makes 176PF and shoots stupid flat. He runs blue bullets but I'm going to do a small ladder test with JHP bullets and call it good.

    Thanks everyone.

That would be interesting.  Might see the first ever Staccato .40cal 2011.  :)

Nope. There is absolutely zero want or need for 40 cal major in LO. For one thing the beating the red dot will take will quickly kill even the most stout dots on the market. The division is being created simply because USPSA is well behind the times on what most people want to shoot these days. 2011s are no longer mainly just competition guns and unknown by average gun enthusiasts. People like the 9mm 2011 with a slide ride red dot. They are easy to find without spending $5k on a custom built gun. Why make a division that can be widely successful with easy to buy guns by forcing it to use 40cal? Doing that sets it up for failure because it means you now have to have a custom built gun.

If we believe that is the reason …

what are some of the reasons one might have there RO cert taken away ?

does there have to be a reason to have your RO cert taken ?

I mean the dnroi himself was on video yelling at, and cussing out a father and son at a SCSA match due to the child being allergic to a substance in spray paint. Even told the father he and his doctor who diagnosed the child were wrong. IMO that should be enough to strip him of his position....... clearly there is and has been an agenda within the BOD, NROI and other staff.
