  1. Just got back from the opening and wow does Spielberg do it again. The effects are awesome and Im in love with the Camaro all over again. Unfortunately after all the transformer toys my son now wants I will not be able to afford a Camaro. A must see movie.

  2. Very nice and cool Idea with the tape on the A zone. I have been teaching my red head the game also (he is 9) I created some BB trap target stands for his air soft pistol. I basically recreated the size of a shirt box out of wood 2" thick and mounted it to stands, stretched a piece of shirt box tissue over them and taped down. I have a 1/2 size IPSC pattern I lay over the paper and paint around the edges for the shape of an IPSC target. They work great, catch the BB's and we re-cover them easily when neccessary. we do not tape them as you can see if you hit or miss.

  3. This has been a great thread for me. This weekend at our local match I had my son video tape my shooting for the first time. I have been shooting this game for about 7 yrs now and learning all the time but have been trying to get over the hump at bieng really fast. On two stages I had a failure to clear early on. In the video you can hear the shots, bang---------------bang---------------------bang--------------------bang, jam, and after clearing the jam I forgot all about the rest of the stage and it sounded like bang--bang-----bang--bang-----bang--bang----bang--bang and I got all my hits. Iprobably ended up with as fast or faster a time than I would have, had I not had a jam. The difference was that I just let myself go and did not think about what I was doing I just let it happen. Now if I can just do that every time. Video seems to be a great tool, as well as this forum.

  4. The wooden gun with extra large sights is close to the visual aid I made to teach my son who was having trouble with sight picture. I made a big front and rear sight out of plywood (4"x4"), no gun, and a block of wood with a basket ball on top. lined up on a big table with the basketball on block on one end and the front sight and rear sight allighned on the other with the classic bullseye 6:00 hold on the basketball. had him neal at the end of the table, look thru the sights, and he turned around and smiled at me. That 9 yr old can now clean a plate rack darn fast.

  5. I dry fire mine a lot. Absolutly no sign of any wear or damage to any parts when I detail strip and clean it. The hammer in this thing is actually very light for a shotgun and all internals are built like a tank. I am going to continue to dry fire it as is and if anything ever breaks because of it I will let you know. I dont believe you will here from me again on this subject.

  7. I saw it friday night. You may recognize the main caractor from Chronicles of Riddick (Karl Urban). He did a fine job in this flick. I found it entertaining as did my wife. It wont garner any Academy Awards though and more than several scenes left me scratching my head. I also found the Sepia like color ( an attempt to make it look like a long time ago) a bit distracting, to my eyes anyway I prefer good old normal color.

  9. My Son had sleep apnea a few years ago. The schools all were quick to diagnose him with A.D.D. and wanted us to have him evaluated by shrinks and have him put on meds. My wife and I did a lot of research on the subject and were of the oppinion he was not A.D.D. We finally got him to a sleep specialist who refered us to an ENT specialist who properly diagnosed a Tonsel and adnoid condition. A relatively routine operation to remove the offending tonsels and adnoids and he was sleeping better almost immediately. He is now on the schools honor roll and sleeps like a rock.

  10. I second the Rem Nitro 27, and would add the Rem STS to the recomendations as well. They are a slight bit slower velocity wise but have been super reliable in my Benelli and knock down everything I hit with them. I dont know if newer paper hulls are treated for moisture repelancy or not but I remember some science project like shells I would occasionaly pull out of my hunting vest as a younger hunter.

  11. I have the Magpull PRS on my Tactical rifle and love it. It is a tad heavier than others but it puts the weight where I like it. behind the shooting hand. It actually makes the rifle balance better and not feel so muzzle heavy. It feels in the hands like a much lighter gun.

  12. I have tried many of the optics currently on the market and the following list is what is important for me in an optic for 3-gun competition.

    Variable power

    True 1X low setting

    Simple reticle

    Real daytime illumination

    Clear, Clear glass

    Wide field of view

    Rugged Build

    Company that supports their products

I have considered optics from, Leupold, Burris, Hourus vision, Trijicon, Meopta, Elcan, Schmit&Bender, and Valdada. I have owned optics from 4 of the 8 and handled most of the rest. Only the Meopta 1-4 RD k-dot meets all my requirements. I like it so much I bought 2.

Recently I had the missfortune of dropping one with 9 lbs of AR15 attached too it and it landed top turret down on a hard tile floor. This is where rugged build and company support come in. The impact did not impart any damage to the utility of the optic. The glass was unfazed and the reticle /illumination was fine. It even still had a perfect zero. But the turret cap was slightly mushroomed and stuck tight. I shipped it off to Meopta explaning what I had done and they ordered a part and had it on its way back to me in about two weeks, no charge.

Quality glass by a Quality company is worth every penny...

  13. Does the gun still work? I used to own a remington 58 sportsman (Sounds like a race car doesnt it). The 1100 and 11-87 are decendants of that gun. Well I had a piece very similar mysteriously fall out of the gun also. Never did figure out what it was or did. The gun worked fine without it so it never was an issue. It wasnt the first time I dissasembled something and had parts left over on re assembly.

  14. Ive been using peltor Tac 6 electronics for over 5yrs now and love them. Never a problem in rain or sweat. They are slim in profile for rifle and shotgun ( I shoot mostly 3-gun) and hearing conversations has always been great. I estimate about 1200 hours of use and still work great.

You wont need a dremel for that you will need a welder. Or contact info for Benny Hill. (Who I recomend) Its not the carrier its the Bolt that needs attention. Send it to Benny and have him lighten it and weld it for ghost loading. Poke around on this site a little for his contact info or maybee someone else will chime in with it. Also if you shoot any action matches you might consider replacing the recoil spring that came in that tactical (Heavy spring) with a standard recoil spring so you can shoot standard target loads. As is you may not get 100% cycling with anything short of full power loads. Hope this helps you. Enjoy that Benelli.

  16. post-6767-1170256398.jpgpost-6767-1170256446.jpgAfter using my Benelli M2 for a few months now with a rear sighting modification I made to the rear of the rib (for slug shooting of course) I thought I would share it with you all. It is very simple, I simply ground a groove in the rear of the rib where it slopes down towards the receiver and then filled the groove with white paint. The resultant sight picture with the fiber optic front sight is similar to the old Berretta 92 sights with two dots, one slightly above the other. My first trip to the range was with a piece of masking tape attached to the back of the rib with a pencil line dead center to make sure the point of aim centered to the barrel was matching the point of impact. In my case with my choke choice it was dead on. I simply used the pencil line as my starting point and started grinding. I started carefully with a dremel abrasive cut off wheel and finished it up with a round gunsmith file. A little at a time and a little trial and error I had the shape to give a perfect dot when sighting down the barrel. When not shooting slugs I do not even notice it is there. Having a spot to index the front sight on has been a tremendous help to making more accurate slug shots.
