I don’t have my notes where I am but I am 90% sure I use a large pistol plate with one washer when loading 300blk.

Two of my local matches are now canceled until April.

Not yet. But I am sort of expecting it.

So what disappears first usually? Powder, primers, or bullets?
Yes -
Shooting a match at an indoor range where you are down range of the shooting booths is not something I will do. Did it once and could tell it was bad juju.

Floaters usually refer to a medical condition of the eye.

The primer issue would not be a bench related stability issue. The case feeding issues the OP mentioned very likely are.

Us1 this may not be your problem but it sounds like your machine is not mounted rigid enough, needs to be mounted very solid with no movement or shacking going on when you are using it.
Fully agree.

I wouldn’t do it if you have to take possession of your luggage during the layover and then pass back through security. If you don’t you should be good to go.

A local club uses an small pancake air compressor and air chisel to install the spikes. With a long heavy extension cord and long air hose they can reach all the bays from a couple of outlets. Works well.

I had nothing but good experience with STIs and their service. I still own several and would certainly buy again. I am not a fan of their current direction though.

I just screwed my to my bench without needing to do anything special. I am not clear on why it would need to overhang off the front of the bench.

The move to 8rd guns was what stopped me from shooting revolver. No interest in buying a new rig.

I'm familiar with setting the height of the 'camming pin', however how does one verify the wear of the spring under the sled?
I dont know what the spring length or weight should be, so there is no direct test that I know of.
Process of elimination would be the next best option. If you have set the adjustment properly, ruled out binding with a dirty feed ramp, shell plate timing/indexing or out of spec brass there isn’t much left other than that spring.
You can also pull the spring, stretch it a bit and reinstall it. If things improve temporarily then it’s likely the spring. I would expect that to be a very temporary fix though.

For me it was the spring under the sled that was worn. But the adjustments for the sled are a strong possibility. There are two. The manual covers proper adjustment.

My 15-22 was not reliable enough to use in competition due to extraction issues. My CMMG is.

At the same price I prefer plated over coated.

That is what I would do, but can’t say it is the correct thing to do.

My press does this only when loading 40 with the bearing mod. Removing the bearing and double washer solves it for me.

I never ever notice how the shooter before me shoots or the two after I shoot. For the shooter before me my mind is on the stage plan. For the two after I am loading mags, eating/drinking or using the restroom.

That is defiantly not normal.

Any time I spent more than $20 to shoot a match I felt ripped off. Many of my local non USPSA matches are $10 so even when I pay $20 for a sanctioned match I feel a little taken advantage of.

I read (yeah one of the worst phrases to use) that fast burning powders such as N320 and Titegroup will be fully burned by the time the bullet gets to the end of a 14.5/16" barrel. The thread was originally discussing the best brakes for PCC and came to the conclusion that even with slow burning powders there wasn't too much "oomph" from the gas at the end of a long 9mm barrel. Obviously there is gas coming out, but it's not enough to work a brake to much effectiveness. During the course of that discussion a few people were talking about velocity loss with fast powders and longer barrels.
Now exactly how long a barrel needs to be to have this happen with a certain load work up? I have no idea. To test it you'd need two rifles that are identical other than the barrel length. Say a 8" and 16" barrel. Maybe even a 12" barrel in between.
All my tightgroup Pistol loads pickup a minimum of 150fps out of a 16” barrel. They also pickup quite a bit in an 8” sbr. I have never tested a 12” barrel to see if it is faster than a 16” but I doubt it would be.

I don’t like grease at all for a semi auto pistol. I do like standard Mobile 1.

Are local matches in your area getting canceled?

My local private range was closed this week. I Don’t agree with it at all, a busy weekday would have maybe 6 shooters at any one time.
