What does it take to make a Stock 3 9mm shoot 40s&w?

 

Is switching calibers as easy as swapping the barrel, extractor, mag, and recoil spring?

 

Is the 9mm and 40s&w breach face the same on tanfoglio slides?

Does it fit the new 2017 ccp box dimensions? 

The magwell looks like it helps extend the grip too. Thats the one down side for me with the CZ compact is the tiny frame or at least with my big meat hooks of hands.

So much for ordering one from czc they are out of stock.

Anybody have a old beat up one they would like to sell?

What are you using for mags and basepads with you magwell?

What brand and model air brush do you use?

What grit and material did you use for sand blasting?

I'm going to be doing my rock island.

Why did you bake at 200 degrees for 4 hours instead of 300 for 1 hour or 250 for 2 hours?

Did you use h series or the new elite series?

I installed a czc flat trigger and hammer in mine. The hammer made a huge difference in SA. CGW has a hammer that is great also.

The stock hammer has taller hooks.

If you keep the stock hammer you will need to remove the DA disconnector. Or simply not install it on the new hammer.

Removing the FPB will allow you to get a shorter reset close to 1911 territory.  

Polish the trigger bar too.

I would get a CGW trigger pin and reduced trigger spring also

I'm not worried about a 1/4" sight radius difference.

Does anybody know the actual weight difference between the three?

I like heavy guns. I'm currently shooting a rock island 2011. I need to make the switch because rock islands dont have long life spans and a sti has a smaller grip that I'm not a fan of not to mention they are lighter. Oh yeah and out of my budget

I would have to put in a henning sao trigger but I would do that for the limited anyway.

For my 2011 build I will go with the standard sti grip that I will stipple.I would like to go with a steel grip but I cant justify the cost of them at the moment.

I was originally looking at a sti 5.0 edge frame that shooters connection international has.

They also have the sti unique slide with sight cuts and serrations.

 

I emailed ck arms today about a stainless slide.

I'm not sure if fitting will be a problem mixing brands.

I'm going with 40 s&w in 5"

What are the best 2011 frames available? 

What are the best unique cut slides?

I will probably be going with a KKM bull barrel.

I will be doing oven cure cerakote finish on it.

 

This will be my first full build.
