  1. Just to remove any doubt some of you may have, you do not have to be a member of ICORE to compete.

The host club does not have to be affiliated with ICORE.

You don't need a NROI range officer and as mentioned before, ICORE trusts you.

Just be honest. This match is run for fun and the promotion of ICORE revolver shooting. This postal match gives anyone on the planet a chance to compete. Just follow the rules and enjoy the match.

  2. The match package for this match can be downloaded from www.ICORE.org

This match is the main postal match on the ICORE calendar. Its open to any revolver shooter not just ICORE members. If you have not tried ICORE before then think about giving it a try with this postal.

Vic Pickett has been the winner of this match for the last 5 years, will his reign as winner continue this year?

    Good Luck

  3. RESULTS ICORE AUSTRALIA POSTAL MATCH No. 1/06

I’d like to thank the 220 odd shooters for participating along with the various Club coordinators for getting the results back to me in a timely manner. Shooters from 3 different countries sent scores in, mainly Australia & the USA however there were a couple from Germany that also sent scores in. Glad to have you all.

The final results were very close with 1st place going to Todd Crow taking out the Overall and Open by less than a second over Paul Kennedy with Mark Itzstein in third place.

The Limited results were close also with 1st place going to Dan Carden from 2nd place Les Nielson and Ian Bond in 3rd place. Well done Ian those news eyes are working well.

It was also interesting to see a lot of names from the various revolver forums participating, I hope you enjoyed the challenge. There were some noticeable Australian absences from this match, hopefully they can shoot the 2nd round of the series.

If this little taste of ICORE has wet your appetite, the 2nd Match in this series is now available to be downloaded and has a similar easy set up, so shooting it indoors should not be a problem.

    Thanks for participating,

    Paul Kennedy

  4. Jeff, if you don't mind the extra calibre then go for the super. I went from the 8 shot V comp to a Model 28 converted to 8 shot and now the super. My splits have improved. My confidence in my reloads has improved. The shorter case length helps on the reloads. A lot of the top revolver shooters here in Australia have gone the super and I'll bet none of them would go back to 38spl because the super is just a dream on the reloads.

  5. As Carmoney suggested, send it back to factory for repair.

They can be repaired by a competent gunsmith with the correct factory jig and tooling. I recall a recertification S&W course I attended about 10 years back covered this topic quite well, however I would think that in the USA it would be factory repair job and should be covered by warranty no matter how old the gun is.

Get onto the factory and ask.

  6. In Australia we a planning on running 4 ICORE postal matches in 2006.

All you revolver shooters out there anywhere on the planet are welcome to take part. You don't have to be an ICORE member to compete . We are running it with the intention of exposing as many Australian shooters as we can to ICORE and to get them to take part and enjoy the match. There are 4 stages along with score sheets and instructions in the match package.

This first postal for 2006 can be shot up the 31st of March 2006. The stages are not difficult to set up and should be suitable for a lot of indoor ranges as well.

If you would like a PDF match package then email me at kenmbark@aol.com and I'll email one to you.

I hope some of you take up the the offer to compete.

    regards

  8. Sorry fellas, due to unfortunate circumstances I won't be there at Bendigo this year, however I have committed myself for the IRC next year so I'll catch up with you then. I imagine Peter G and Mossy will keep you boys on your toes so look out.

    Good Luck and shoot well.

    regards.
