If you shoot a lot, its bound to happen to you sometime in life. Its a fact of life with those sprung yoke screws. I don't know what the red coloured sealer is that S&W use on the yoke screw but however if its gone then I replace my screw with a new one. The damage on the end of the yoke can be dressed off with a file. Rather than mess around trying to get the yoke replaced you can weld them up and dress them down.

Picture looks consistant with erosion caused by leakage around the primer. I had a similar problem with my super. My brass was exrememley tired and I suspect the primer pockets were not as tight as they should have been. Thinking about it now the brass I was using had been in constant use for about 8 years and probably reload over 50 times. Fixed mine OK. Kept the same load, fitted a new bush and went to new brass. All good now. PK

Viperone, Yes, by all means just paint the X zone out with black paint. ( Thats what I do ) I ran the match at MDPC here in Australia yesterday and we had 12 shooters. PK

Still got around 10 weeks to shoot this match..............so get out there and give it try. On the other hand, if you have shot the match and did not do so well, then try again. Around 100 scores returned so far. ( don't ask what the best is !) You know deep down inside you want to give it a try, so why don't you ! PK

To late for this year Bubber............... Great idea for next year though, "Triple Crown", yes I would have a shot at that...........now I have prescription shooting glasses ! (Would you be prepared to shoot the match on three separate days, once in each class ?) PK
