  1. I'm going to try another takedown lever (thumbrest) for a new gun. I've seen pics of the Tyrant P320 takedown lever but I've not seen it in person. What is the size difference compared to the Align Tactical thumbest or even the factory flat takedown lever? Mostly interested in how far off of the gun it sticks out.

  2. I have a P320 slide that is cut specifically to fit the Leupold DPP and has cuts for iron sights also. I don't have irons installed on it right now. It's a full-length slide for a 4.7" standard barrel.

My only DPP just went down so I want to use my Romeo3 Max. Which plates will fit in the DPP cut to mount the Romeo3 Max? A couple of the Springers look like they'll work but I'm not sure which one. It doesn't have to be a Springer so I'll take any good recommendations.

    Thanks.

  3. Does anyone have an Armanov basepad for their Canik? I'm curious if the Elegance line or Maxxxgrip line or the Speed line will fit inside the USPSA box for Production.

Takedown lever? You mean the slide release? To take the gun down you have to pull the slide back slightly pull the two tabs down then pull the trigger, slide the the slide forward and up. How could you have done that during live fire?

No sir. I meant the takedown lever. I'm like you and Thomas, I have no idea how it happened since the striker was set. Nils and I took it apart in the safe area and couldn't find anything wrong. I had used it for 3 stages and I was on stage 4 when it happened.  hadn't touched the gun during the match except during each stage.

  5. Does anyone make a low profile takedown lever for the Rival polymer?

My hand size pretty much guarantees that my thumb will be on top of or against the face of the takedown lever. I've had the slide fall off during live fire once because of that and I'd rather avoid it ever happening again. The locking lever spring is in great shape also. I've experimented with changing my grip some and it just does not work for my hands.

If no one makes a low profile takedown lever face then I'd be happy to take ideas for any other way to block my thumb from pushing on the takedown lever, besides changing my grip.

Would you consider it reloable or just use as a start mag?

So far mine would be a start mag. Loading it 24+1 is pretty tight but it runs so far.

  7. I received my MBX magaziine. So far I've used it in on two stages in a match and in approximately three live fire practices. My use obviously has been minimal so far but up to this point it's ran 100%. I can get 24 in it but it's a tight 24. I'll update more when I get some decent use out of it. I'm really happy with it so far.

  8. I am considering the MBX 24 rd mag (the actual MBX mag, not the Canik mag) and I'm hoping a few of y'all have ran one and could give some feedback on it. I have a few Canik mags with Henning basepads and MBX spring/follower and I like them but I'd still love some input on the MBX mags. Thanks.

I hit mine with a little dry silicone. Says it doesn't attract dirt, but who knows. Grams followers work great for 23+1 in mine though.

I agree. With almost all my mags, after I brush the tube inside I usually push a silicone rag through one time. I've done it for years and it's always worked well. This time it just happened to be the follower was just barely rubbing/grabbing inside the tube. I'm pretty sure I've got it worked out now. Thanks.

So Nils holds 4 of the 8 division titles at the moment. I'll just give him Lim 10 since it's the same as Prod or Limited. Open is easier CO with a dot so he could win that. He has rifle skills but don't think he could beat Leograndis. Unsure on Revo, but...... Nils is the man.

As far as Revo, Nils shot 92% at the Nationals in PASA Park as a Junior in 2006. I can't remember for sure but I think he was 2nd overall to Miculek at Revolver Nationals that year.

how do you like it? a buddy has the eeman tech dual adjustable and it feels great but they want $109 for a shoe and spring. The armory craft looks very similar for half the price.

I can't answer for August but I know him and I have a feeling his answer won't be a lot different from mine. I put the Armory Craft on the S2 along with CZ Custom doing a short reach trigger job. The Armory Craft DASA trigger is crazy easy to adjust, can allow for a slightly shorter reach, are consistent from trigger to trigger, etc... I am not knocking Eemann Tech because there are guys that love the flat trigger they make but I know certain gunsmiths dislike working with the Eemann Tech trigger because they felt there were inconsistencies in production. I did not buy the Eemann Tech so this is not from my personal experience. It's just from me doing research and asking a ton of questions to 'smiths and people who use both triggers. The Armory Craft trigger is outstanding but a lot of us like different triggers so it can be personal. I'd buy the Armory Craft all over again.

Load the magazine up couple times and take the follower back out. Look on the sides of the follower to see where it is rubbing against the inside of the magazine. Take some material off where it is rubbing with some 1000 grit sand paper. Rinse and repeat until it is running smooth with little friction. Had to do the same thing with mine. Now I just use the same followers and swap out only the spring when needed.

Good idea. Thank you. I'm going to do that.

  13. I got a couple of Henning +4 badepads for my Canik mags and I swapped out the factory springs/followers for the CZ Shadow 2 Grams spring/follower 11-coil. I was able to get 23+1 but I immediately started getting nose dives frequently. I eventually took out the Grams springs/followers in my mags and put the factory springs/followers back in and it works but I'm losing capacity. When I pulled the Grams guts I noticed that there was a lot more friction with the Grams follower than with the factory follower.

Has anyone else had this issue? It's a small difference but I want the capacity back up to 23+1.

  14. I have a couple of great holsters for my Shadow 2 but I may "need" to get another holster. It's for a local LE match and my GX Vice won't work for the division I'm shooting in. I don't want to spend tons on a holster I'll not use a lot.

I've been looking at the Safariland 579 (appears the 576, 577, 578, & 579 are the same except for the hanger) and I've also looked at the Blackhawk Omnivore. I'll be using one of my own holster hangers btw.

For the Safariland does the Shadow 2 fit the 577, 578, or 579 in the Long (*683) or the Wide Long (*450)?

Does the Blackhawk Omnivore work with the Shadow 2? The Omnivore comes in both light bearing and non-light bearing and I can run the gun in the LE match with or without my TLR-1.

    Thanks in advance.

  15. It's been a long time ago (around 2010) but I remember trying a fiber optic insert that was amber I believe. It appeared almost like a bright golden honey color. I want to play around with it in my Shadow 2. Does anyone know where to find it? I've searched the site vendors and an archery fiber optic site and didn't see it but I may have overlooked it. If you know where to find it please let me know. Thanks.

  16. I know most of us are not Promag fans but also a few people have had luck with them. Is the general problem the spring and follower or the tube itself or the combo of tube/guts?

I'm asking because I've seen someone state they used the Promag tubes but changed to Grams spring/follower and they worked great. I only remember the one-person sample. I'm primarily asking for my Canik Rival but I'd be open to trying the tube w/internals swap on other guns too.

Does anyone else have experience with doing this and what were the results?

  17. My kid ended up taking the P320 and he decided on the Precision Holsters Align Tactival PHAST Holster. I personally think the look of the holster is kinda funky but the gun fits like a glove and the holster seems to be very well made. The turnaround time was pretty good too. It's pretty solid. If I needed one I wouldn't hesitate buying another one despite that I think the look is gawdy. Function over looks. It turned out he made a good choice.

Thank you everyone for your input.
