    SIG P226 Value

Since on the SIG forum they delete all my reply's or posts I ask it here. What is the value of a early (with proof marks) West German P226, folded slide in excellent condition. Without the original grips or sights?
  3. Can I mount an SRO on a Pro Core 1.0 with plate #1 ?
  4. I have Hornady 9MM seating with miceorojust stem but it only works with RN doesn't like FP. I need a 45ACP solution. I like the Dillon because you can flip it over for RN or SWC. The hot glue seems to have worked so far. Its still a PIA.
  5. Well after all these years and not wanting to but another micrometer adjustable seating die. I finally took my 45 Seating Die put a Hornady SureLock lock ring on it and Hot glued the edge of it to the tool head. Reason being. I just started loading 45 ACP again and have all kinds of bullets. Each requires and different OAL. The dillon die is a PIA to adjust. So gluing it down the lock ring allows me to loosen the allen screw and use my wrench to do slight adjustments based on the bullet I am seating without the lock ring coming loose. So if someone has any other ideas I am open to them.
  6. My mistake not checking the OAL when using the new box of bullets. But What bugs me is I wonder if the Dillon seater is more accurate from RND to RND. There were several in the 200 I loaded the were in the neighborhood of 1.150, that's what led me to believe that ogive was different on the new batch of bullets. The thing is I am relatively sure the molds for the most bullets aren't super precision. You can't expect precision when you are paying less then a dime per head when bullets for BR can cost a buck each. But I am still wondering about the Dillon die. I was thinking about getting the Whidden Click Adjust lock ring, but its huge and may not work in the 750 tool head. Or maybe the one of the other clamp style rings. Easier then having to use 2 wrenches to snug the die down. The real problem is with loading different bullet weights and manufactures made me go with the Micro adjust die.
  7. Before I started shooting a PPQ SF and was shooting a P320 bullet, OAL wasn't much of an issue it ate anything. I had an issue at a match yesterday where the RNDS were jaming in the mag. I went to a practice bay and noticed the RNDS were getting stuck on the ramp and in some cases were getting stuck in the mag. I am running Xtreme 135 RNFP 3.5g N320 at 1.150. They appeared to be to long. I checked 10 RNDS and there was a spread of .009. I am using a Hornady seating die with a micrometer (using it because of the ease of using different bullets). I stooped using the Dillon seater because its a PIA to set. The nice thing about the Dillon die is the the flip seating stem for different profile bullets. So I figure it could be several things giving the inconstancy. Seating Stem , inconstant shell plate machining, loose shell plate (I have it tight), inconstant bullet profiles. Or maybe me not going through the full stroke. I am leaning towards the inconstant bullet profiles. Looking for some other possible issues.
  8. am having an issue with the Walther Q5 Oval Mag Release Button. I cant seem to get it to stay in one place. No matter how tight the screw is, and I don't want to strip the head. I am afraid to put locktite on the bottom of the button thinking I will never get it off again. There are no serrations on the mating surfaces to stop movement, the surfaces are super smooth. Looking for some ideas to get a tighter fit.
  9. Looking for a review of McJ Tools Reloading Die Lock Rings.
  10. Just used up a box of primers and was looking through my stock to use the oldest first and found 7K of Winchester SPP that I didn't date when I bought the. I managed to get Federal, CCU and Remington to give me the dates of manufacture. But Winchester said "there is no shelf life and the manufacture dates are propriety". That's bad karma! Makes me not want to ever buy there components again. Anyway here are the Lot 3's RDL070G RBL030G RBL070G
  11. So if I want to change the wording of a classified like price I have to email and admin? Why cant you delete a classified?
  12. So I cant edit or delete a post in the classifieds. As well if I request support I get. "The page you are trying to access is not available for your account." So how do I use the forum?
  13. Yes, send it and they will mount it.
  14. I guess I got a message from Scott. He said that they cut a deep pocket and move the optic forward of the hammer channel and the the locator tabs are not necessary because of the deep pocket. No I need to figure out if I want to go with a 3MOA or 6MOA sight. The 6MOA is really bright and if the 3MOA probably as bright. Probably start another topic.
  15. Well I would really like to put the Romeo3 Max on a Shadow 2 but from what I see is the only shop that cuts the recoil lugs is Stonebridge. Looks like they won't do a Shadow 2 slide. But I just don't feel like cutting a Shadow2 OR. Does any other shop cut the recoil lugs in a Shadow 2?
  16. The MAX pattern is 14 so its not that. RTS is 14 and the Delta Point is 14.15 and RMR is 18.8 is the widest hole pattern Here is the response from Stonebridge. They offer the optic cut on the Shadow 2 slide for Holo 509T, RMR, SRO and Delta Point not the MAX. The other shops have no problem cutting the Shadow 2 slide for the MAX and I have seen it on several Shadow 2 slides. " We can only cut the Romeo 3 Max/XL optic to the Shadow 2 Optic ready model slide. The optic requires more width than the standard Shadow 2 slide can support and the optic will not last on the standard model. There is more than enough width on the Optic Ready model, the Romeo 3 is also larger than the optic plate footprint, we are able to cut this model of the slide to direct mount the Romeo 3 with no issues. https://www.instagram.com/p/ClUMV1aJdUa/ " Maybe I will just buy a Beretta or wait for the Canik metal frame. In any case I plan on getting one of each. Maybe someone can get the measurements for the Shadow 2 slide top and the OR top.
  17. I was just talking about if you use the FTP plate it sits the optic on top of the slide + for $100 you may as well have the slide cut.. On my open gun the optic is way above the barrel and if I didn't figure out where my shots were going at different distances my scores suffered (Not that I will ever be more then a C). When I got the 320 MAX I was amazed that shots at different distances were more accurate and I didn't have to adjust as much. I agree dovetail are crap but if you want to try an optic on a non optic ready gun its the ticket. I am gona get a Shadow 2 and have to decide if I want to spend the extra about $300 to get the wider slide.

  19. FTP's adapter plate looks good but if you want to mount the MAX or XL directly to the slide why spend a couple of hundred bucks more just to get the wider slide. May as well just get a dovetail mount. Once you cut the optic slide your done using another optic . My P320Max is directly on the slide. It's my view that all the plate system gives you is the option to mount just about any optic. I like the Romeo3 MAX out of all the others and as long as they don't discontinue it I'm OK. So for me I am going to cut the slide for the optic. No plates!
  20. OK so I am confused. Based on what Stonebridge says you need the extra width of the OR slide to support the MAX properly. Yes I see what they are saying. So at our monthly match I was looking at the Shadow 2's with slide cuts from Cajun and Primary. All of the optics hung over the sides of the slide. I went home and looked at the foot prints. Front Rear Width Width Length SRO 30 27.9 45.3 MAX 28 30 53.8 507C 28.6 28.6 45 RTS 2 28 28 51 RMR 30 28 45.2 I would think that all the optics would need the extra width of the slide to support the optic. So just how many of the optics that are on Shadow 2's are failing compared to the Shadow 2 OR. The thing I do like about the Stonebridge cut is that they cut the lugs. Not sure about the other shops.
  21. I see the difference in the slides now. As far as the MAX sight I have had one on a gun since March of 2021 probably close to 10K rnds (minor) with no issues then last month it craped out. It would sometimes not turn on. Had to open the battery draw, then push it back in and it would start working. My complaint is the draw.
  22. I have been researching an optic cut to mount Romeo3 MAX on a Shadow 2 from several sources. I got an interesting email from on shop. They said the following. "We can only cut the Romeo 3 Max/XL optic to the Shadow 2 Optic ready model slide. The optic requires more width than the standard Shadow 2 slide can support and the optic will not last on the standard model." I was kind of supersized by that. So is that true? Is the OR slide wider? If so how much? Only thing I can figure is that the bearing points of the optic are on the front and back. Looks like the bottom frame of the optic hangs over the sides. I have only seen one slide cut for the MAX.
  23. This may be off topic but I have a 2011 open gun in 38 SC and want someone to supply and put or fit a new barrel cut for 9mm. Someone I wont have to wait forever to do it. Preferably in SO Fla.
  24. Now I only load 9 (plated)and 38 Supercomp (jacketed) and some 380. The 45 load is the same as I loaded 30 years ago. I have old records but i don't use those powders anymore and the magnum stuff, forget it I have so much 44mag and 367 mag. At my age its a Red Dot or scope. Iron sights are a thing of the past. I shoot 200 to 300 rnds a week, once a month 38 Supercomp and when I run out of brass I will put a new 9 barrel in my 2011. I will go through at least 12K SPP this year. I tried the miracle coated bullets and you can have them. And I can afford all the stuff. I bought al the stuff to load 223 but then counted all the loaded ammo I had and how much I shoot it I never used it. During the pandemic I built a 223 bolt gun and shot it for a while but not for a year now. I have been shooting a lot of 22lr, pistol and rifle. I still shoot my caplock with BP not pyrodex and patch and ball and the guys at the range hate when I bring it.
