  1. Mine came back at 10.1 recently. The test flagged it as high for being over 3.4 but also has information saying WHO recommendation is less than 20 and Occupational exposure OSHA recommends lower than 40 and Biological Exposure Indices (BEI) under 30.

Unless you are bouncing over 20 you shouldn't have symptoms caused by lead exposure.

I shoot one to two indoor and 2-3 outdoor matches a month and load so I know where my exposure comes from but am not worried with a level at 10.

Still worth monitoring and staying vigilent.

From a quick look they don't look like they are ready for prime time.

I can't find the statistics but I think the number USPSA put out was something like only 5,000 members shoot every month. Less than half the members shoot more than a few times a year.

My guess is if USPSA went away only those who do majors will miss it and the rest I believe just want to shoot and will be just as happy doing HF matches based on USPSA rules or PCSL.

I mostly shoot USPSA because I can find one every weekend but I really really enjoy PCSL for the pure fun of shooting. I also enjoy IDPA but prefer the equipment and capacity rules of PCSL and USPSA.

Max has created a 1 Gun rule set for PCSL which is an all encompassing rule set clubs could use.  To be honest his rule set are much more shooter friendly and removes a lot of the BS.

I Enjoy PCSL a lot. The only thing USPSA has over it is the classification system but I prefer almost everything else PCSL.

I am pretty busted up I raced motocross for 12 years, got a bad back, wrists, knees. Been a boilermaker for 15 years, not really nice to my body. 42 years old 6 foot 225 lbs.

I'm 51, 6' and 220. I raced Harescrambles and MX. Just like guns I was C class forever :). Damn sandbaggers LOL.

When I got into shooting I had a lot of issues with my fingers. I have broken a few over the years and had to have surgery to repair my left thumb (I am right handed). The arthritis in my fingers and wrist is worse than in my ankles (which I had also broke). After a match my ankles and fingers all hurt. Right shoulder too (yep, broke the shoulder blade and damaged the shoulder too).

I have gotten lucky racing and have had a lot less broken things than most.

I would use some Voltaren when using the revolver until you strengthen your hand and fingers for that type of grip. The holding on to handlebars made grip easy with a gun but I always gripped softer with the handlebars so my fingers would hurt as I got used to having to grip harder with the gun. My trigger finger suffered because I was using the rest of my fingers to grip harder and I didn't practice right either. Solved that by not practicing :)

My guess (take it for what it is worth which isn't much) is it is possible with the new grip of the revolver and heavier trigger pull your muscles are having to adjust all together in you hand.

I bet it will get better but probably always have some issue or another, especially 10 years from now.

    Good luck. Braaap!!

While blatantly ignoring that A4D also needs removed for also lacking his RO certification.

I only know what I have read online and things need to play out, the appeal should be public to the members but if the reason was to remove him as President due to lack of RO cert (no matter what the reasons are for the RO cert being revoked) then the A4D should be removed as well and not given an extension.

From my experience (although small sample size) non-profits have infighting issues which is unfortunate.

The one big thing you'll find you may need in uspsa vs idpa is a good magnet. If you have a table pick up stage it's noticeably faster to go to a magnet vs stuffing in a pouch.

I love my DivTec magnets... I buy one a year since I met Nathan whether I need one or not :)

  7. I have setup my USPSA belt with a boss inner hanger and a QLS setup.

I then put a QLS attachment on a Tek-Lok attachment and one on a Paddle attachment. I can then use any of my holsters with any belt combination.

For USPSA Carry Optics I can't be more than 2" from inner belt and this is about 1.8" on the USPSA belt. With the paddle and Tek-Lok the gun is right up and a bit higher than just the heal of the butt. I prefer it that way anyway so there really isn't a difference in draw vs what I had with the boss hanger Y connector.

I have QLS forks on 4 holsters so I can change from my 509 to my Glock to my FNS to my FNS with light in seconds.

  8. I don't own an MPA but have benefited from their customer service. I met Dave Lyell at a Level 1 local when he was there with one of their open shooters that I knew. I started talking and since he is a gunsmith I asked about a problem I'm having with the extractor on my old Ruger MKII.

He told me the company to find a replacement extractor for. Great... on to my squad and match.

Walking from one stage to another we pass each other and he stops, pulls out his phone and walks up to me and shows me the extractor and gives me the url to order it (which I did that night).

Giving me advice was really appreciated. Finding the link, keeping it on his phone until he runs into me and calling me over to make sure I have it is above and beyond. I have since squaded with him and I am just a C class forever hobby shooter but he was vocally as supportive of me as he was his sponsored shooter. He was like that for everyone on the squad. Made the match 100 times better.

I worked the SC Sectionals (my first ever) and the guys from MPA had a non-MPA shooter who almost quit that day b/c of a gun problem and they took parts off a gun they had and got this guys gun working and let him keep the parts.

I am an Apex loyalist b/c of the customer service I have gotten there but MPA and Hunters HD are right there with them. I can't believe how much they go above and beyond.

I will buy an MPA next year... maybe not a pistol but looking budgeting for a rifle right now. If I get confident LO will stick and not become some combined CO division I may do the pistol too but we'll see what the economy brings :)

  9. I'm not an Open gun fan but have seen a couple of their shooters, including Dave, and they do look nice and at the locals I have been to they run pretty well.

I don't know a lot of builders but talked to Dave a couple months ago at a match and he is just a great and helpful person. He gave me advice on a Ruger MK II I had problems with and even sought me out later to give me the link to the part he mentioned. I'm not a customer and he went above and beyond to help a fellow shooter. I can only imagine how far he will go for a customer.

Like in Appendix D7 section 7

    7    Maximum size Handgun    No

    Good point. I overlooked that.

I think one thing that kept gnawing at me that prompted me to finally reach out to NROI was that originally when the rule changed and I was considering the aftermarket slide I reached out to the RO Instructor I had and he said he wasn't sure either and to reach out to NROI.

However, I never put Appendix D7 7 together with 21.3 that you can use an aftermarket slide (no caveat like there was previously). Oversight on my part as I was looking for a singular rule to cover it when I should have looked at Appendix D7 in its entirety.

Amazing what information opening the rulebook for 30 seconds can yield.

The rule book also says for production and carry optics if it isn't specifically called out it is not allowed which is why I wanted to make sure and have an official specific answer.

I figured it was good because the previous rule states it had to be same size but that wording was removed.

For the last 2 posts, I don't know what "removed from my home page" means?

On my Tapatalk App if I go to the far left icon, Brian Enos no longer shows up under MY GROUPS and if I try to hit ADD MORE and search for Brian Enos it does not come up in the search reults.

I have started trying to look on the web but much prefer the app and just clicking on subscriptions and reading there.

Thank you for looking into this.

So why don't more people shoot it, then?

All the low cap divisions are falling off, and CO is growing like crazy.

    And I don't shoot IDPA...
I shot carry optics and admit it is because of capacity mostly. However, if Prod ever goes to at least 15 rounds I will probably go back

  14. I went the cheap but unlimited warranty route as I am just a C shooter in Carry Optics and do not invest a lot of time in it. However, I started with a Viper 6 MOA and liked it a lot but found some good deals on Venom's 3 MOA and liked how you can adjust them different from the Viper and how you didn't have to take the optic off to change the battery.

For me, I have not noticed a big difference, even at a sunny match but so far I have only shot one with 3 MOA and only did about a dozen with the Viper 6 MOA.

Part of me wants to get a Venom 6 MOA b/c everyone says the 6 is the best. But then I have had some M tell me that they shoot something like 12 or 12.5 with a triangle dot. Then I get confused.

For now I think I will just try to get to B class in Carry Optics with my Venom 3 MOA and then if I want to go further from there invest in a CZ and high end optic. But for what I do, how often I do it and the limited budget I have... Venom's are a good choice.

  15. I have an FNS 9 longslide cut for an optic, an FNS 9L I use in production and an FNS 40L in limited. I don't shoot often but have only had a few issues in there years and all but one was ammo related and the other was limp wristing.

My carry is an FNS9C and my home protection is an FNP45. I got a great deal on a FNX40 so I have that too.

I also have an FN509 that I will shoot production with soon.

I do not see any disadvantage using any FN versus a Glock, Sig or HK. I have shot them but don't like the feel. Plus going from any of them to the other doesn't take a lot of adjustment because the feel is similar and the triggers on the stryker guns are similar too.

I have thousands of rounds through everything except the FNX40 and FN509 and the 509 feels better than the FNS.

If you like it get it and don't worry about what others shoot. Until you get close to A level as long as you have a reliable gun your equipment won't hold you back.

I saw Ashley Reurick (can't remember the spelling of her last name) shoot production with a Glock and spank GM's. Dave Sevigny did well with FN's too.
