  1. I actually had a bit of insight into this as it was being conceived.  Started with one of their guys adding steel weight to his handguard.  I did the same and got a noticeable improvement in A's immediately.  Gun is slower to transition but Alpha count when up about 20-25% for me personally with about 2.5#'s added just forward of the receiver.  Also gives me the same feel as my 3 gun rifle.

Agreed. Although I have a 24c in my current set up I have used triggers as good or better than it. It was a prize table pick up so free is good. Those acting like it's the end all be all of triggers should get out more. I'm waiting to start breaking firing pins now with the extra force it hits with. We shall see.

I am shopping for firing pins today after breaking my second one with a JP Trigger.  Tips keep breaking off.

Hiperfire 24C or 24ECL. This shouldn't even be up for debate. Comparing other triggers to it is an unfair fight. Sure you may break a firing pin after 3k rounds but that is the small small price you pay for performance.

Really cause I took my Hyperfire out and went to a JP.  Solid wall with Zero creep. Shorter reset.  No bumpfire issues.  There are plenty of good trigger options out there.  Hyperfire is by no means the end all be all of triggers.

    Thank for the explanation,

Once I figured out the amount of space I needed to fill I took apart a carbine buffer cut it down and put the plastic plug back in. Stuck it in the bottom of the tube so the taccom kit hits the plastic on the buffer. Quarter work a bit but I bent up a bunch of them experimenting. Going to be some pissed of vending machine techs out there. :)

What set are you running, I'm about to covert my gmr 13 to shot pcc... Thanks

I spent a lot of rounds analyzing what works best for me and here is what I found.
    1) Taccom 3 stage SS kit
    2) Remove internal bolt weight

    3) Shorten the stroke further just long enough to let the trigger reliably reset
    4) Use a good trigger that will take a beating like a JP

That wouldn't surprise me, but there are at least a few people claiming that it makes for better PCC performance.  Harsher recoil, but flatter shooting.

    We'll see..

With the weight in I felt that the muzzle climbed up more at the rear of the stroke and dipped down more when the bolt came forward. I also have mine stroked shorter further than just the Taccom SS kit by using an cut down carbine buffer reversed at the back of the tube. Cycles fast and flat.

The Q buffer is heavy, 8.5 ounces. It is also one of the longest  buffers available. So it reduces impulses, reducing felt recoil. The bolt doesn't have to travel as far before it starts forward again. The Q buffer combined with a really good compensator (I use an MBX) make my PCC's shoot like .22LRs. I have have shot them with several different buffers but you can really tell the difference with this one.

Longer buffer is essentially short stroking the gun. Heavy buffer means less recoil into the shoulder and more energy forward when the bolt slams forward. None of that has an impact of changing the rotational torque. So far the general consensus is less reciprocating mass, shorter stroke and fast cycling equates to faster dot recovery caused by less dot movement. How the gun feels in recoil is subjective. My teammate and I run nearly identical setups but his bolt is heavier and his gun is not stroked as short. He actually gets low second hits with my gun as it cycles faster and flatter causing him to overcompensate when pulling it out of recoil compared to his.

Save your self a lot of time and trouble. Get a"Q Buffer" from Heavybuffer .com. It will shorten the stroke and flatten out the muzzle rise. It will also take the twist out of the barrel rotation. Don't waste you time or money trying others. Get the Wolf Extra power buffer spring too.

How exactly does it take the rotational torque out of the equation?

I am less then thrilled with mine. After 2 trouble-free Colt builds - a PSA and a Quarter circle 10 - I thought I'd try a Glock lower. I liked the extended left-hand mag release on the KE - it works like a champ. However, the lower had issues.

    1. The ejector had to be relieved on the underside for mags to seat
    2. The safety detent channel was hundredths undersized  (I don't have a pin set so I can't say how much) such that I had to take a 1/8 drill bit and cut the channel to size by hand.
    3. The mag release is misfit and hangs open when you use the right-handed release button. I haven't worked on that yet, as I'm a lefty, but that's next on the list.

For $200 I expect the lower to function 100% with maybe a single. minor glitch, but this is just sloppy manufacturing and bad QC - been there, done that, know what it looks like. Maybe this is Karma biting me in the ass ?. All that said, it has run 100% with glock and magpul mags for 300 rounds or so.

There is a real need for a lefty Glock lower that is ready to roll right out of the box.

Also, I'm running an Aero Precision upper - fits fine.

I forgot I did have the safety hole issue but it was easily rectified.  The mag release catching is just a matter of spinning the nut. No issue on the ejector or the spare I picked up.  I did clean them up a bit as they are a bit rough on the edges.  Other than the safety pin hole mine was plug and play.

Is the only difference between the K2 and K2+ that the K2+ has the rubber overmolding?  Do most of you shooting a K2-type grip go with the  K2+ overmolded rubber grip?

Is there a K2+ with finger grips?

I'm using a Hogue grip with the finger moldings and never thought about trying another grip...  However...  I do notice that I don't get as high a grip as I used to with my Open or Limited pistols...  Just figured it didn't matter since I can use my left (support) hand to pull the rifle in to my chest.

Rubber texture is the difference. No FG model available. I like the Hogue w/FG for PCC because of how thin it is. I don't use it for my 556 guns because it feels too thin when one-handing a heavy gun. I use an Ergo for 556 guns. I ran 150 rounds today with the K2+ on the PCC and like the relaxed grip angle so far. Will shoot some more tomorrow after installing a TACCOM feed ramp and short brake.

  11. There are several threads on short stroking in the first few pages.  You can get JP's add-on kit or you can look at the Taccom 3-Stage with short stroke upgrade.  I am using that with the addition of a cut down reverse buffer to further shorten the stroke.  Recoil is subjective so what you are really looking for is less dot movement/ faster recovery.

Then there's hope for the few that do believe. Even if it's ever so slight.

I wouldn't exactly call three layers of tape scientific, would you?

I would. It clearly demonstrates that gas is being vented out of the comp. If gas is being vented the comp is at least reducing recoil or rise by some degree. Whether or not YOU believe it is doing anything is irrelevant or making any real difference is subjective.

I ran an uzi mag gun up until 3 months ago. No issues just easier to reload glock mags. I am looking at a sig MPX next. JP is a close second to that.

I see just as many issues with the MPX as cheap home build AR9's. Our rental MPX has broke more, gone through more mags and jammed more than our HI Point 995. The 995 has a much higher round count mostly due to the Sig always being down. MPX would be near the bottom of my list.
