Would the shadow 2 mag release fit in a shadow 1?

It looks like it will.  I can pull a 1 and 2 down tomorrow and try.

  2. I thought about this on my way home.   Would a 1911 be ESP legal since material is removed from the exterior of the slide for the ejection port lowering/flair?   You could make a bigger case for that then you could for the front of a Shadow.

But they don't build the Accu-Shadow from the ground up, or off a bare frame.

If they did, I'd say there was no question that it was legal.

You could make the same argument for custom 1911's coming from custom "gunmakers" who are just putting them together.

Pretty much the AC's at the matches I plan on going to have OK'ed what I'm slinging so no issues.  If your AC/MD want to not allow them then power to them.

If if you want to shoot one at a sanctioned match just send the email and get approved prior as I did.

CZ USA labeled all the guns as polycoat in description. if you look at product SKU number on right side of box, it ends with 91256 which is SKU for nitrite finish pistol.

polycoat guns will end with 91254.

That is from the original Shadow 2 thread   Stuart posted it.

The rules don't specify an acceptable amount, only that removal outside of certain explicit changes isn't allowed.

If this was a custom gun maker, then the rules would allow the gun in SSP too, as it would have come from the factory this way, and if it met the production amounts. A similar Tanfoglio would be legal if it came stock with the bushing.

If you want to go the custom gun maker route then it is legal since I am pretty sure CZC is now producing firearms...   ?

  6. I picked my 2 and was comparing between my guns.  The bottom side of the barrel on my TSO is mostly like the 2 barrel.  I was able to put the TSO barrel on the 2 and completely reassemble.  Not sure on heads pacing as I do t care to go any farther. The amount of barrel sticking out leaves plenty to thread if you choose.

Do do any of you smith's have any thoughts on this?

    I'll post a side/side in a bit.

  7. I think most are reading too much into it Rowdy.    There is very little material removed from the outside of the slide and that is to accommodate the recoil spring cap.   The bushing cuts are inside the slide with maybe a kiss if any to the face to square it up.   The Facebook discussion went all over the place about it.

Brian Ehrler said its no different than any other custom gun on my post on FB IDPA Moderated.

Dave H sent this VIA email when I asked about shooting one at the Razorback shootout in Arkansas next month.   He is the AR, OK, LA  Area Coordinator

    Good morning,

After much discussion among several AC's around the region, it has be determined that the AccuShadow is legal in ESP division.

    Have a great one,
    Dave

No official answer from HQ but someone posted they had an over the phone answer.

  8. I threw one in my last Cajun order.   I installed it in the Accu I picked up off the exchange here.   SA with a SAO trigger is pretty sweet.   The regular trigger was ok but the SAO trigger is on the next level.   I have ordered another one to convert another Shadow to SAO for a backup gun.   I did miss the part if the video about removing the disconnector.  It worked fine in testing and for an 8 stage match yesterday but I guess I need to pull it back apart and remove that to see if it changes anything.

  9. I have not gotten a response from IDPA HQ but I have from some AC's.  I would have to say if you plan on shooting one in TX, OK, LA, AR then rock on with it.  I specifically asked Mike P in a side email who then sent it to his AC then back to me with the answer.   I was going up there for the match either way but it was nice to get an answer on something like that prior to dragging it up with me because it is a 6-7 hour drive to that match.

  10. For what I paid for an SP-01 and the cajun parts I should have just went with the shadow to start.   The place I just picked up my 2 shadow oranges had a bunch of regular shadows in stock for $839ish.     I paid $675 plus $80 plus whatever the cajun kit cost.

  11. I plan on shooting one for the Silver Dollar match in Wichita Falls next month and one of the Arkansas matches.   According to our AC in a post on either the CT forum or the Facebook think tank it is IDPA legal now.

  12. Look into Collin County IDPA and Cross Timbers IDPA.   There is also a guy named Ves on the DFW shooters page on Facebook that has a USPSA match at the JCSSA range but I know nothing about it other than the post I see once a month.   Both CCIDPA and CTIDPA both have USPSA matches I think.  I know CTIDPA does for sure.

Cross Timbers does Defender outdoors on Wednesday nights, and The TSS every other monday night.

I don't know anything about the Collin County side of it.

  13. I used to use brake cleaner on everything.   As long as there wasn't any plastic, rubber, or wood involved.   I have lately switched over to rem oil in the spray can.  It cleans  what you point the straw at and usually does a good job.   My dealer had some other kind of oil in a spray can I am trying currently.  It has some rattles in it and seems to work so far but only time will really tell.

I also have a sonic cleaner.  That thing is cool but unfortunately when my wife bought it for me she got the smaller one.  It will not fit a whole gun in it but it will fit the dirty parts.

  14. I was checkin out one on some website the other day.  The youtube reviews look pretty good.    I think what got me to it though was the orange grips posted somewhere that are "airsoft"   They look legit from the photos.   I thought about ordering one for practice at the house.

  15. The shadow will still have a place in IDPA.    Doing the conversion of the 1.33kg to ounces the Shadow 2 comes in at a hair over 46.   You would have to cut 3 ounces off her to get it into IDPA or hope IDPA ups the weight in the next revision.

  16. Pretty much.  Someone pointed out it would be a shame to put such a nice gun under the mill.   I think I have found where I could get it damn close to the right weight.  Just a matter of being willing to pull the trigger.    :D

I think a DC trim, and Tri top would get it close.   May have to burn a little of the beavertail off to get the length down also.

The TSO is illegal for IDPA in virtually every way a pistol can be illegal.  You'd be way better off building out an SP01.

Not so true...  I haven't put a measuring stick on it yet since I have it in hand but dropping the FLDC rule out of the book makes things like what I am after more possible.

Alternatively I have emailed CzCustoms about just putting a Tac Sport slide on my SP-01 lower.
