When I wanna practice everything but draws I just tie down my hammer to the beaver tail with a straightened out paper clip. Seems to work well for me and, I'm not for sure but, I don't think it'll hurt the gun. I think it feels almost the same as SA.
Tried this over the weekend... I like it. Thanks for the idea.

Tracks with my info nicely - it stacks to 7lbs at the back of the DA pull, but hits fussy CCI primers like a mother.
I'm running the 13lb Wolff for now and have shot two matches without issue. Time to tear it apart to clean and do another round of polishing. I have been using CCI SPPs.

It's nice to hear what others do to get / stay motivated. It ebbs and flows, so getting exercise into the routine is imperative.
It needs to be as normal as showering & brushing your teeth. It doesn't need to be much either. Something every day is better than nothing!!
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI've been eating good again and surprisingly have had no trouble with it. I was on a really strict diet during my collegiate triathlon days and that all but broke me of dieting. I have yet to find the motivation to get back in the gym but I've started with a healthy dose of calisthenics and dusted off the spin bike. It has actually been enjoyable and I know it will only help my shooting.

This thread has been a big help in getting me eating right and working out again for the sake of shooting better. Been wanting to do it for a while now but haven't been able to make it happen until 2 weeks ago. Thanks for sharing.

I do a lot of 1 shot draws, I think that it is useful for checking if your grip is consistent, and making sure that you are pushing hard on the draws. I like doing 1 shot draws to a 20 yard plate rack, it is both an accuracy test and speed.
This is the only practice I have done with my new Tanfo Stock 2. I feel like it has helped quite a bit with the mental aspect of shooting a DA/SA for the first time. The level of effectiveness of any drill is not going to be even across the board person to person.

For limited is it worth having the race masters over the racers? Thanks
That depends on what you need the pouch to do. The only advantage to the race master over the Racer is the ball joint mounting system that allows you to cant the pouch away from your body. If you're a thin person this will be useless to you. There are several top DAA pros that choose the Racer pouches over the race masters.

I've never felt even the least bit burned out with shooting of any kind. I honestly think I would play with guns all day everyday if my budget/schedule allowed.

I agree. His "smith" messed probably it up.
For reference, I've used the pd10 spring and got 3 1/2 pound da WITH 100% da reliability using federal match primers. But i couldn't handle the sub 1 sa.
If only I could get my hands on a truckload of fed SPPs...

I've been wondering the same thing but didn't want to ask in fear I got a lemon.

I am right handed and run the extended single side safety WHO with no issues.

Factory they are ok guns. They just have a high ceiling. When you start working on them they really become great guns.
Ain't that the damn truth! I still can't figure out how it is legal to compete against a Glock, M&P, XD, etc. with a hopped up Tanfo.

Thanks again
Yes sir. Enjoy it, working on these thing is a slippery slope. My plan started out much like yours then morphed into a month long process where I changed out everything I legally could before ever shooting the gun. Any time you put into the gun is worth it for sure. I came from a Glock and still can't seem to get over the wow factor. These are great guns but they need a good bit of finishing work

Legionshooter, here is the info you want.

Johnbu started a thread that covers exactly what you're wanting to know. It is titled "New Lim Pro - polish and PD springs only." I will leave a comment to bump it to the top.

1.86 seconds is my fastest. I need to get to work

Have a Vanek Classic Grandmaster in my 34. It's the best production legal trigger I've felt and I've tried just about everything on the market.

Track the target like you would a clay target with a shotgun. Aim into the A zone and move with the target.
Bob Vogel has a video on YouTube that describes this method. He says being able to track the swinger and put hits in the A zone while it is moving is paramount.

I'll try it out in a couple of hours. I'm hoping mine will not require fitting I'm thinking it may. I had some issues with DA light strikes with a brand new gun and a 12lb PD spring. I pulled the FPB and put in a 13lb Wolff spring I had and the gun has run 100% since. I'm hoping the light spring/new gun/good but not great polish job was to blame and not the FPB.
-
Thanks for the info. I currently have the FPB out of the gun. Will re-install and do some dry fire tonight and check it out.

I guess I am the odd man out. I prefer the shape of the stock trigger over the xtreme.

Anyone have a good holster for the edge? The finish on my gun is going to hell with the Ghost Holster.
DAA Racer, Racemaster, Alpha X or any other "race holster" should do the trick.

I'm going to order the medium and if it's too small I'll pass it on to the girlfriend and get the pro. Thanks for the info.

My right side Scale grip fits pretty loose even with the screw fully tightened. Anyone ever seen this? Blue loctite has held the screw in place so far but that's only about 300 rounds.

Awesome work. I took some 120 grit sand paper to mine when I was working it over and smoothed out some of the rough machining. More of a radius like you've done may be in order.

Extraction/ejection with mine is great compared to the Glock I was shooting. All I have done is polish the extractor and add the XP spring that came with the BSPS upgrade kit. It has been flawless thus far.
