It’s a bit strange, the TS2 came out without and hype from what I remember.
great gun but it just showed up.
    this gun was marketed differently
a bunch of hype, prototypes released for  review.
idk just seems weird Like maybe there’s no interest overseas for This design.

Whole Europe is also waiting, dealers placed orders, nobody knows anything.

F, that looks like you are bouncing around a lot.  You may be holding the gun too loosely.  Grip and stance are quite important, doubly so if your load is not hot enough to drive the gun straight back.

both factory first 115 gn. with 150PF out of an MPX 2nd 124 gn at 148PF at 20 yards... target = 15cm square... actually I am pretty happy with 1st card! 20 shots and most within 2 inch...

Splits are important, but less critical than transitions. Trying to improve, i.e. decrease, your time on target and position transitions will improve your hit factor faster, better and more consistent, than trying to achieve faster splits.

yes, but it says a lot about your gun set-up compare underneath at 20 yards...

I have no problems with the standard buffer and that ammo.  As I mentioned earlier I added the shorter of the two MBX short stroke adapters to the previous setup.  So it's the 5007, weight/spacer, spring and the MBX adapter.  So it is actually short stroked in the A5 tube.  Without the adapter the slide locks back on empty.  It is soft, but slow.  Short stroking brings the speed back, and it is still a little softer than the carbine tube setup.

I only run that ammo in falling steel shoots.  Most of the time I shoot 109PF for SCSA and some 134PF for knock down steel outlaw matches.

    tnx

    Correction.

Leadstar Arms Prime PCC with Wiland 9mm shrouded barrel Leadstar 16.1" barrel, BCG with weight, a Blitzkrieg Standard hydraulic buffer and short stroke adapter slug with a JP polished 308 spring.  The dot doesn't move with the 556 spring either, but I think I like the recoil impulse of the 308 better.  BTW, if I use anything other than that exact load I get dot movement with this setup.

I've subsequently gone to an A5 buffer tube with all the same stuff plus the shorter of MBX short stroke adapters.  I got a tip in this forum that the A5 softened the recoil.  It really does, but I have no idea why.  Everything just feels smoother.

    2 questions:

your ammo is quite 'hot' for the standard buffer 5007... no problems then? (it survives it?)

the A5 buffer tube is a bit longer then the carbine buffer, do you use anything to 'fill it up', or only the 5007+the weight spacer???

    THANKS!!

Everyone that's shot a GMR side by side with the JP-5 with any ammo, theirs or mine, has immediately understood. It's lower recoil and substantially less. With the JP-5 you keep that 100% reliability.

A bunch of shooters have historically run gas operated PCC's because they like the lighter recoil impulse than blowback systems. The trade off has been significantly increased cleaning times, parts replacements and limited load selection for operation. You don't have to make those trade offs with the roller to have lighter recoil anymore.

This might not be everyone's cup of tea. That's totally fine. The GMR is a proven, reliable and solid platform. I ordered a 2nd JP-5 😉

Don't care so much about recoil but more about sight recovery. And indeed an MPX is hell to clean 🙂

Yeah, I have but you wont believe me until you shoot it. Brian at Hunters HD has one as well if you are going to any of the matches he's at.

Then I have to believe the JP5 is softer... That would be amazing!

I have a CZ Shadow 2 and replaced the main spring with an 11lb one, a reduced power TRS, and the Extended FP and Spring combo.

I enjoy the lighter and smoother DA, which I have about down to 6.5lbs, but I find the SA too light at 1.5lbs using a Wheeler Gauge. I miss having a "wall", since I don't generally ride the reset and just release and get on the "wall", like on my defensive pistols. So I end up doing a lot of inadvertent double taps on practice, or even worse, press the trigger on presentation if I am not conscious.

Is my option just to increase the main spring weight still, which of course will bump up the DA pull also? I was thinking of putting in an increase power TRS just to get a "wall" again, but I frankly do not know if that's how it works, as far as what affects SA pull best. Maybe a stronger sear spring?

That or I guess, just a matter of retraining technique not to get on the "wall" too hard on follow up shots or even presentation.

I would first go back to the original TRS then see what it does. It should increase SA a bit.

    1. I didn't ask if I could say anything as it isn't my gun. 2. As it is pre-production and not truly representative of how one will come new it doesn't seem fair to write a ton, good or bad.

But I will say some things, as someone who has owned a dedicated colt mag CMMG and Rock River, a Scorpion, a MPX and a GMR15 and shot all of those in some competition or another over the years. (PCC M in steel challenge and 9th overall idpa pcc nationals for highlights)

If feels like a JP. Unless you are very familiar with HK guns and how this was adapted you won't notice the differences on the exterior. It does have a different feel than my GMR15, and I spent a fair bit of time with springs and weights getting it, my 15, to feel and track exactly how I wanted. This was very close to that instantly as it was, and I was shooting the unpopular PCC load of a 147 through it.

Prices on consumer goods is rising. Availability is tightening. If you have the scratch, like what makes a JP a JP, and want this gun you should order it.

Tnx Rowdy! Eagerly awaiting real reviews!

I don't get it, for that price, why not just get an MPX, and a few magazines, and a red dot, and a reloading press ?

Is it that much better than an MPX ?

We all hope so 🙂 nobody knows at this stage... Let's see.

  11. It's expensive but looking at the current commodity pricing in Europe (and World) inflation is here. Then it is not so bad. In Europe you can do the US price times 2 by the way.... and we have to wait one more year most probably. Still they will sell shiploads since it is the new toy to have. And we like toys. I do 🙂 and will buy with confidence when available in Europe!

I run my 510c with the Holosun spacer to raise the dot to a more comfortable height.  You might want to give it a try.

Finally been able to shoot again (thank you not covid) and installed the riser. Amazing what a small increase in height can bring. Much more comfortable and seems faster to me (on a JP). This and a new Bravo systems stock changed the 'feel' completely. Only want to try a SRO... once... Tnx!

Sorry, but I'm unable to find the spacer you mean, do you have a link?

Holosun.eu has them but if you're in the USA then Holosun.com. It's listed under accessories. B.t.w., I mounted it 2 weeks ago and feels much better now on a JP...
