Shot one today (Spectra) and bought it. Will arrive in 2 weeks (after permit papers okey) keep you posted. Trigger better than a tuned Shadow 2, DA amazingly smooth. Fit and finish is the best I've ever seen.
-
Ive seen and hold them at the Xtreme Slovakia, they are very well build and tight. Many pro's already used them. I loved them. They're like a better Shadow. Actually this company builds all Shadow oranges! So they know what they do!

I use the Ghost PCC pouch as my mag change pouch and the DAA PCC pouch as the 'starter' mag. Tested many, for me these are doing the job the best.
-
change the JP buffer for a blitz (5007) , huge difference.

No, there's no reason to do so.
5 seconds of 3M High Power Brake Cleaner is about all the time that's necessary for "cleaning" with another 5 seconds to dip your BCG in oil + 1 flick to remove excess.Isn't brake remover a bit ' bad' ? It removes all deep into the material? I would love to use it

Comp get more dirty than a blowback for some reason.
Cleaning the rest is just as simple.

Yeah did think about that option as well... but we're going for the Fire 4 Effect option, now.
You know, this whole 'adventure' started with me asking my gunsmith to get me a new Shadow 2 and an SRO and I didn't want the Optics Ready model, cause I wanted him to cut the SRO as low as possible into the slide, and as I saw 'everybody' in the US shooting with SRO's on their Shadows, never thought it was going to be a problem... until now...
Please let me know how it works out for you and which gunsmith you use, going to do the same if it works

Please, save me some time and give me an N320 load with 124 grain projectiles that will work for the JP5 and the P320. I just zeroed the gun again with the 70 degree LP and Blazer Brass 124s. I'd like to load something softer.
We use 4,0 4,1 grain of N320 on FMJ 124's to achieve 130 PF in a J5. It might be a bit slower in your Sig though.

Thinking of trying LO with my S2, just add a mag well and short grips. I’m running Taylor Freelance +5 mag extensions, which are Henning style, with the retainer on the back side rather bulbous compared to Springer or TTI. Any recommendations on a suitable mag well that works with these extensions? I already emailed Robin Taylor about making a mag well for the S2.
the original cz one works very well see czub.cz

so far I'm liking the JP5. It's very different from my MPX, but fortunately I havent been shooting much lately so its like relearning pcc all over again!
Try 124 FMJ with 4,5 grain VV N340
You will love it
O, with the 60 locking piece that is!

Hi, Last week finally i recieved my JP5 here in the Netherlands ( Europe ) Did some testing with it and have a question hopefully someone can help me out.
I use it for IPSC so a minimum powerfactor of 125 is required.
I tested with VVN320 powder and 124 and 115 FMJ RN bullets.
The 124 with a 4.0 gr load did 128 PF
The 115 with a 4.3 gr load did 130 PF
Using the 70 locking piece Dot movement with the 124 and 115 is about the same, but the 115 with the 4.3 load feels a bit snappier and faster. So for now i am gonna settle with that.
So far i am very happy with the gun, till 15 yards superfast splits are possible with te bulletsholes almost touching. So that is a big pro compared to my GMR15. But at 30+ yards the dot movement is still a litte more than my liking. Hopefully i can finetune that.
I could be totaly wrong. But in my thoughts, When the gun fires the bolt pushes the rollers to a locked postition, till the spring tension on the other side takes over and unlocks them. So with a lighter spring the longer the bolt stays longer locked and there is less energy left to cycle the gun.
I have read that Max uses the 70 locking piece and the heaviest SCS spring with a 115 gr bullet and a lighter spring with heavier bullets, What i still dont understand, what"s the idea behind that. Can someone please explain this to me.
Regards Reinier
Hope someone can give info on this Reinier!!! Very interesting.

Not sure if that is completely true, at least in my experience. I think the cycle of the bolt and buffer using a tuned load can create a situation where the dot has minimal movement even if felt recoil is heavier/harder. I.e. the muzzle returns quicker with a hotter load versus a softer load where the muzzle meanders back to original Point of Aim. I ran my GMR loads hotter which lead to harsher recoil because it made the dot move less.
What I have found similar to what you are saying is that when in less than optimal shooting positions, a lighter bolt/buffer system properly tuned can give you better groups. When you grip is not on point on the rifle with the lighter system it seems to have less felt recoil and my groups are better. In other words lighter systems create this situation more than felt recoil. I am still playing with loads for my JP5 so I do not know if the felt recoil holds true with that platform, but my GMR ran flatter with hotter loads, i.e. harsher recoil.
I find the JP5 has way better groups when my grip is not optimal in those strange positions. I attribute this to the lighter bolt/buffer system, more than the felt recoil.
At least this has been my experience.
My GMR ran flattest when shooting 140 PF (+) 115's with a blitz. The JP5 was flat with all basically but it just felt way better with the slightly hotter load, at least with the 60 locking piece. Many things to learn...

Interesting - can you give more information about why the N320 load was "too soft" to be fast, it seems counter-intuitive to me
It's like shooting 130 PF 147's out of an GMR, feels great initially (soft) but slow on the clock. If there is a bit more oomph ti.mes go down at least for me.

This is interesting. I am shooting 124 grs Sellier & Bellot factory ammo with the default 80 degree. I find it very soft, but I have only compared to direct blowback PCCs which is totally different. From the vendors recommendation, I've ordered a 70 to test with. I'm not based in the US, so it's taking time. Hopefully I will get it by the end of the month. But from your results, it seems like it might be worth it to even test with a 60?
Do you find the difference to be very noticeable with 124 factory compared to the 80 lock piece?
difference compared to 80 = HUGE, difference compared to 70 is smaller but noticeable. Factory becomes as soft as 115 PF 130 in my GMR...

Finally got my JP5! changed the grip into K2, replaced hand guard by a smoke.
Shot it today with factory 124's, N320 (4 gr) with 124's and N340 (4,5 gr).
Factory = 141 PF, N320 load = 129 PF, N340 load = 132 PF. All with the 70 locking piece.
Factory super, way softer than a GMR.
N320 load felt like a .22... maybe too 'soft' to be fast...
I liked the N340 load most! All evenly accurate by the way.
Overall: best PCC I ever owned, it feels just great.
Next outing I repeat all with the 60 locking piece... TBC
Yesterday I installed the 60 locking piece and repeated same ammo. Results:
Geco 124 factory amazingly soft, I can shoot matches with factory ammo, a relief for me when in a rush.
N320 124 load bit to soft and 2 FTE, guess here I would need the 70 to make it reliable, it was also so extremely soft that I loosened my grip/stance and groups widened up. Also bolt didn't lock. Brass was elected slowly and only 30 cm's...
N340 load 124: by far most liked by me. Enough 'spirit' to keep being aggressive, amazing groups, hardly any dot bounce. Based on expert advice from shooters who use the JP5 already for many Months and tested a lot I made this load. Seems they were spot on!
Strange thing: where with my GMR tuning the comp (to the right, I'm right-handed) was needed. This comp is strait but dot doesn't move to the right at all. Just a little up, that's all.
Splits were .16, not so fast yet, maybe I have to get used to the (great) trigger?
All brass was very dirty and left this topical marks..
All by all, looking at the weight, no more buffer tuning, relative simplicity, the bolt release on both sides (open start) I love the rifle. Had to use a riser for the 510c with the hogue stock it came with...
Very happy user!

Did it come with an 80° locking piece installed?Congratulations, by the way. I still have a month or so to go on my wait, assuming everything is still on track.
yes 80

So finally gad a long test session with the JP5, and I bought one.
Tested 115's factory Geco (130 PF out of a Shadow 2) with 70 and 60. Way softer / flatter the a GMR but still a bit jumpy (compensator not timed..) and not the best 'feel'
124 Geco (134 PF out of a Shadow 2), super with the 70, close to perfect with the 60, much better 'feel' then the 115's
124 PCC Match ammo Limit (126 PF out of a Shadow 2) wow, supersoft with the 60, still amazing with the 70
140 with 3,5 VV N320 (131 PF out of the JP5) with the 70, feels like a .22 amazing but too soft for me, felt bit slow.
All by all, I found a PCC to shoot factory ammo reliable (I am lazy) will it improve my ranking? For sure not. Do I love to shoot it? Hell yes, its amazing!

The Spectra has a longer barrel and better trigger (especially the DA) and shoots bit smoother but this was after one session didn't compare side by side. Slide to frame fit and overall feel comparable to Redback. Then you know the level!
