HOCKEY PUCK! Plate racks and poppers are calibrated with a 9mm. As pointed out above the spinner requires a BIG power factor to make it spin. They are interesting but have no place in a major match. If someone wants to practice the doggone thing, then go ahead. but I side with Trapr on this one.

+10 on the 'seeing the targets'. I used to shoot an M1A with irons and have shot a couple of matches with an M1 Garand; however, the targets were painted and did not go out past 400 yards. Makes a big difference.

I now use the Vickers sling as I can tighten or loosen it more easily.

Here are my two shotguns. The M2 is for NRA Tactical matches as they have an overall length limitation. The 870 is for He-Man and has a 10 round Nordic Tube.

Brian, I have seen matches where the staff had a separate prize table. Surely that would remove any whining?

Sierra 135 gr. match kings BTHP, flies great past 600 yards.

I checked the floor plates. They are different. completely backwards from the 20 rounds mags. Sheesh!

PMAG has come out with a 25 round .308 mag. Any way you guys would consider changing the Heavy Tactical rules to allow those 25 round mags?

I have changed out the flash hider on my M1A with an adapter threaded standard threads for muzzle brakes, etc. What are the pros and cons of using a suppressor on the M1A?

Less than 6 weeks to go! The long range weather forecast is warm and windy. What's new? Can't wait. I been going to the gym, so the lack of oxygen won't be a big factor. (I hope.) Right Mike?

Mike, I think you have hit the nail on the head. It seems to me that has been the case. I know I quit irons when the targets got hard to find. Most were "out there". I also got to where my eyes weren't so good. The cataracts are gone now and I would like to try irons again. I just might at a match where the targets can be seen at distance. Might even use the old M1 Garand. I do like shooting that thing.

I do believe he is saying they look alike.
Since I have both, I took a good look at them. the side ports on the hell gate are bigger, taller.
they should let more gas out. I shot mine Tuesday and it was very nice. I shot off the bench and off hand.
Very good muzzle control.
