Your gun should feed and run when it bump fires.....  AR's don't have "limp wristing" issues...... Its not a polyframed short barrel semi-auto handgun.  You should be able to float that thing upside down off your pinky while drinking a tuna salad sunday smoothy on the angry biting pony ride at the fair.... and it still run.

My vote, toss that one mag....  Pmags are great, but like everything they do eventually break.  Double feed in an AR, 99.7354671 to the cagilianth % of the time is a mag issue.  Use a different mag, tell us if you have the same problem.

absolutely correct.  first thing to suspect is the mag.  not all ammo is loaded to consistency.  I would bet dollars to donuts it is the mag.

Now that RM3G is over and everybody has had a chance to decompress is there any word on this one. Check and written app went in the mail weeks ago.

It's going to happen in about 48 days.

I'm signed up for Tac Heavy but if there won't be enough shooters to make a division I'll jump to Tac Lite or Limited Lite. My buddy is shooting He-man and the same goes for him. It would be good to get a heads up and start making plans.

When can we sign up to be on a squad? Geez, Per Practiscore, I'm not even approved to shoot yet.

I am in the same boat as you. Tac -Heavy, but not approved to squad.  I have been assigned a shooter number, tho.

Not necessarily. We do still use clays in moderation, but the 2-Gun WSB simply omits listing them as an available target... when setting the stage, we do not set the clay targets (statics, movers or launchers), so the 2-gunners have a couple fewer shots. Another option is to present alternate targets (e.g. ringing plates that are color-coded to distinguish them - not as confusing as you might think). Neither approach presents a competitive equity problem as the divisions compete separately.

I have seen the color choice targets (for want of a better name) and like the set up.  there are an equal number of different color targets so as to keep it equal.  makes the shooter think.

I'm confused as to why the Heavy Metal division is .45 only. I have heard some people mention that it is actually .45 or larger but that actually seems worse since I see people shooting their .45 that has less recoil than my .40 !

Why not just state that Heavy Metal means that the round you shoot has to be either a certain power factor or must be able to knock over a specific target at a specific distance.

I shoot a hot .357sig that has more power than a .45 and my 10mm has way more power, yet I can't shoot either one in Heavy Metal? How does that make sense?

you will have to ask Eddie Rhodes.  but sadly you cannot.  it is what it is.  either do or do not.  it is not going to change.

New to this game, looking at traveling to rock castle for the blue Ridge championship in october...I've only shot paper and poppers 100 yds and under so far in matches (used to shooting 200-300+ hunting) and noticed there will be flasher targets from 200-350 down there. Is 55gr ammo at 3000fps good enough to show hits on those targets or should I take some heavier loads along like 69gr SMK?

.308 works way better.  I have seen ROs not call hits on distant targets with poodle gun shooters.

    jus' sayin'

  6. I run a 300 yard zero, so the first cross hair is on no matter what distance or what power.  On targets further than 200 I use the highest power setting so the follow up hash marks match and the targets are easier to see.

Daughter likes to shoot heavy some of the time. I would like to upgrade her DPMS 16  rifle. I was wondering if anyone has experience with the Seekins rifle. She has a $700 discount coupon which would put  it around $1800 .  Thanks Kelly

I have an 18" SP10, 308.  It shoots great.  It is light (for a 308) and very accurate.  The trigger is light enough to be an asset .  I have a Swarovski Z6 1-6X on mine.  I really like this rifle.  I shoot both the 155 gr. Palmas and 135 Mks.

It does well with both.  I say go for it.

Well, I don't know about steels. In general steels are much harder than pigs so it might not be a good choice for those either! :D

I do know that they fail spectacularly in the penetration of non "shooting game" targets. Saw one ? get a 20 round mag dump at about 15 yards and it was still running just fine. It was finally anchored with a 308 165 grain Game King hollow point. (Best pig bullet ever!) Not one of the tipped 77 grain bullets had penetrated past the rib cage, just dimpled him up a bit!

I bet that was last night.

Is it necessary to lube  any place else  on the rifle, besides the BCG ?

I lube the buffer tube spring.  I also put never seize grease on the sear engagement surfaces of the trigger.  It smoothes it up.

    Good afternoon shooters.
This is the day you've all been asking for… It's time to pay your entry fees to the 2017 Fallen Brethren 3Gun challenge. Please send your checks made out to FB3Gun. The mailing address is:

    FB3Gun / Spartan Tactical
    PO Box 1319
    Keller, TX 76244

The match is still $295 this year unless you have talked with Jim about an active duty discount.

I'll be sending additional information about nearby lodging, restaurants and exact range location in direct emails from Practiscore. We've had near record rainfall this spring and the range looks amazing. Jim and the staff (minions) are meeting this Friday to begin stage layout. Three month until the match may sound like a lot of time but we'll need it to make sure THIS FB3Gun is the best match yet!

As a reminder, the match has shifted 1 week to the right (Oct 6-8) from the original posted dates but I'm sure the word is already out.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there again this year.
