Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. About five years ago I bumped into a bunch of guys at a gun show in New England. They had a video running of some local USPSA matches. I had no idea the sport even existed. It was this group that held the course Rob mentioned earlier. I took the course and have been hooked ever since. I've got more than a dozen guys into it since then. Their attempt to recruit new shooters at that gun show was actually more successful than they know. Thanks for the introduction Guys!
  2. You all remember Steve Martin in "The Jerk." That was me when my name was listed in Front Sight as a new RO. I'm finally somebody!
  3. Next time, when you reach out to grab him, say "butterfingers," Then call him on his cell phone to apologize.
  4. There is an article in the Jan/Feb 2002 Front Sight titled barrel trouble. I had never given much thought about the danger of using empty barrels in a course, specifically as hard or soft cover, but after reading that article, I never use an empty barrel in a course were it can take a stray or direct hit.
  5. Had the range been clear and the RO been able to stop him quick enough, I'd have no problem giving the new shooter a break. With someone down range, no question about it, DQ. I have seen plenty of questionable calls and felt it wasn't place to say anything. Had I been the guy down range, I would have no problem voicing my concerns. If the call were to stand, I would probably change squads or go home. The RO that did not DQ him probably would have felt differently if he had been the one downrange.
