  1. What is it and where can I get another. Thanks!
  2. Open1215. I shoot .38 super open but was gonna help a friend load some steel challenge rounds
  3. No. Factory stock. I've loaded 9mm with hs-6 for major but wasn't sure where to start with light loads. Not sure the minimum pf that will cycle a Steelmaster.
  4. I've been shooting .38 super and going to try a STI Steelmaster for steel challenge. Will my current mags run 9's without spacers and different followers? I know there cheap but would postpone ordering if my current mags would work. Thanks, Tony
  5. Can anyone recommend a good load for the Steelmaster? I have hs-6 and autocomp on hand. I would prefer to save the hs-s for .38 super and use the autocomp for the 9's. I was guessing around 4.8-5.0 grains with 124 extreme round nose. Coal @ 1.12 Thanks for any input!
  6. FIXED!!! Extended firing pin and adjusted the extractor. Shot a match Sunday (bout 150 rounds) with no malfunctions. Thanks again for the help!

We are on a very stringent time frame and pre registration helps us save a lot of time on match day. For this match we are capping the shooter number to 75 pre registers and 25 walk on's. Invite a friend to try out the Steel Challenge. Explain that we are beginner friendly and we are trying to grow the sport. Tons of fun for everyone. (.22, 9mm, .40, .45) No high powered rifles allowed in the Steel Challenge. There will be 5 stages. You will need a minimum of 125 rounds to complete the match but I recommend 175 to be safe. Double that number if you are shooting two guns. All competitors, visitors and spectators must stop at the main Club House, which is directly in front when you pull in. NO GUNS are allowed in the Clubhouse. CMP will be collecting the entry fee for the match and handling registration where you will sign the CMP Liability Agreement. 9. Mr postman! I believe you hit the nail buddy. The extractor tension was extremely tight. I could have thrown the slide onto the concrete without releasing the round. Thanks man! Testing tomorrow
  10. Half were Atlanta arms 124 hollow point major factor. All of the Atlanta arms chronoed 170-172 pf. The others are my powder puff steel loads. 8 gr. of hs-6 124 extremes, sm. pistol primers. Atlanta arms major ammo uses sm rifle primers. Doesn't matter the load. Same results coal 1.260
  11. This is how I shoot. It's working so I'm not gonna change. My draw and hit factor is better but my muscles memory is si engrained I'm almost afraid at this point to change. I shoot open also and that would even become a bigger problem with the elusive disappearing dot
  12. I swapped the firing pin and spring from a stock Sa 1911 9mm. Did the same thing. I replaced the mainspring with a heavier one and shot it about 10 rounds without misfiring. Ran out of ammo for the day and haven't tested anymore since. The primer dimple is flat and has a smeared look to it. Does the same thing with major or minor loads
  13. The spent primers still have a smeared look to them and are flat but appears to fire now.
  14. Swapped the firing pin and spring with one from my Sa 1911 9mm and tried it. Same exact results. Then I replaced the mainspring with a heavier one and it seems to be igniting the primers. Ran it about 10 rounds with no issues then ran out of ammo. Looks like it's hitting the primer harder. Hopefully problem solved
  15. Anyone know what powder Atlanta arms uses in their pistol calibers?
  16. I have cleaned and inspected. I will swap pin and spring and check. Thank you!
  17. It feeds and extracts great. It seems there's not enough firing pin inertia.
  18. And also the Steel Challenge match director at the new CMP range in Talladega if your ever down this way
