  1. Reviewed the Tac-Heavy equipment rules. Not seeing any minimum caliber or magazine capacity restrictions for the pistol. Does that mean a Glock 9mm with 140mm hi-cap mags is ok?

Also wondering if when shooting this division with a minor pistol, the 1 shot on paper to neutralize rule still applies.

Not trying to stir up a bucket... Just want to be clear.

Really looking fwd to this match.

Heavy is .45 acp pistol, .308 rifle, and 12 gauge pump shotgun.

Mag capacity depends on heavy division.

Look at 3 gun nation rules section 7.4 (heavy sport)and 7.5 ( heavy optics)

  2. There was a guy in a 3 gun match that wears what I call a suicide vest, he shot his rifle, ditched it, grabbed his shotgun, shot 8 poppers, went to reload, no vest,no more shotgun ammo, he fired his last shot with his shotgun, ditched it, leaving 12 poppers up, he shot the pistol targets and some guts from the squad yelled to use his pistol.

So he shot the remaining 12 poppers with his pistol and took 12 procedurals instead of 12 Mikes and FTE's.

Not sure how it would score in abandoned major match.

Could not have gone back to shoot with pistol because they were shotgun only targets.

  3. In a major 3-gun match this year I was shooting a stage that required all 3 guns. it was the last day (3 day shoot) and I was tired and had not had a very good match thus far. Finally had a good stage going and when I transitioned from rifle to shotgun, I started by clearing the 1st array of mixed clays and steel. No problems there, then I reached down to grab my reloads and ........ nothing! I started searching all around my belt for shotgun shells and I had none!! It was an all 3 gun stage and in the shuffle of grabbing all my gear I forgot to put my shell caddies back on my belt.

Moral of the story...........always bring ammo to the gunfight !!!!!!!!!!

  4. So I installed a Benelli M2 lifter in my Stoeger 2000 today. Dropped right in, no issues with fit. Only issue is when dry firing I noticed that when I pull the trigger it drops a shell onto the lifter as if I pushed the button. Then I cycle the bolt no problem, chambers next round and so on. Seems to function normally otherwise.

Should I be worried about this??

  5. I pull the trigger, the striker hits the primer, the bullet does not leave the barrel, the case expands and sticks in chamber. After clearing, the round has empty primer pocket.

  6. Sony AV200 ..... compare the video side by side to a GoPro and you'll understand why. As a bonus without that box on your head you won't look like one of those kids who rides the short bus to school .... :)

Do I know you, how did you know what bus I ride !!! [emoji590]

  7. Looking to get a camera to start recording my shooting to reflect back on the stages shot and critique myself. I've been looking at the Contour brand. A couple people I shoot with use them, they are waterproof and decent price for a good camera...

I've been looking at the ROAM 2. Thoughts? Would it be worth it to get the ROAM 3?

**On a side note this would also be used for skiing in the winter.

I use my GOPRO on the head band mount. I also use it on chest mount, head mount and pole mount for skiing. Gets good POV footage while shooting and is great learning tool for me.
