  1. A lot has been reviewed here on the forum section.

our resident expert can tell you all about it, but I think it come down to personal preference.

Also what gun you are running and what ammo (esp. primers) in combination with your hammer and hammerspring make a difference.

    It's a balancing act.

I run (in a Limited Custom 9MM) a Eric Grauffel Extreme LIGHT FP sping, with the Extreme FP and a LIGHT Hammer SPRING and have very reliable ignition 99,9% on factory loads!

  2. Not trying to hack this tread, but would it be nice to have some sticky post regarding standard impovements per type of Tanfoglio? Stock 2, stock 3 and the SAO limiteds?

I have already documented most of my own tinkering on a limited.

  3. Well it so worked out that Tanfoglio emailed me with the fact that they give out 15% discount on online shop for the Easter!

I ordered 3 Xtreme basepads and Blue Xtreme grips!

I could order the Xtreme pad in combination with a Limited Custom(elite) and looking on pics online with Xtreme models, I can see the factory Mag-well and the Eric Xtreme pads...soo a little fitting on the mag-well is not something I'm afraid of. I guess my Limited gun is now "Xtreamed up"

    Will keep you guys posted.

BTW this im referring to, even though the well is not fitted well, seems a little to the back.

The description stated the mags come with extreme-pads and it looks like the rounded bottom is indeed the Eric Grauffel Xtreme base-pad.

Unfortunately Blue is only available in Eric's shop and Ill take the discount then on the silver one' s (for now :)

  4. yeah maybe i could have been a little more informative:

Standard(limited) division, gun is a Limited Custom and it has to fit the "box" 225mm x 150mm x 45mm.

Currently i'm running 17-rounders with a added tanfoglio red bumper, trimmed to clear the mag-well.

This set-up just woprks well, i practice indoors on concrete so this keep my mags from splitting up on that floor.

it just looks so home-brewed and I was thinking how cool those blue aluminium pad from eric look, maybe i could trim those to work with the mag-well and add some rubber on the bottom?

edit: my main goal is to clean up the looks and add some rounds would be nice, but not the essence!

  5. I actually received a package by air-shipment from Mr. Tanfoglio in April first (no joke)!

It included all Extreme parts that I had ordered only 3 days before!

The postal guy actually called me on work to say that I was not at home and some-one had to sign for the package and if I would be ok with it delivered at a shop in my street.

I have no idea why you guys are so bummed with the customersupport :)

  6. right, it was my understanding that the firingpin block would act as a safety for a hammer drop without a depressed trigger. (not that i have one in my Limited :) )

Other that the thumb safety I do not believe in safety stuff on a competition gun. You load and make ready in a SAFE direction and use the safety before you holster.

  7. I probably going to get flamed for this as the Stock 2's seems to get harder and harder to get, even here in Europe.

but... I made a calculation that my cost for running my Limited custom for IPSC are running bit high.

As my only gun I really want to have some spare parts to fix issue's on-site. I got a spare guide-rod ( henning's coned) some spare spring, heavy extractor and a new bushing.

But I stil need 2 more magazine's (so i have 5 in total), spare supersight, flat trigger etc.

My question could I order an stock 2 for donorparts, is everything swappable?

This would solve the magazines and spare parts, I could run it for production matches should I whish so.

Hell, I coul probally swap the whole slide from frame to frame if needed to.

I have already ordered the Ben Stoegger BOSS holster because i dont really like race holsters en believe the kydex would do just fine for starting out in my first year. This also i can run in production.

I'm toying with the idea to have the slide of the limited lightened like the new extreme hmm..options!

  8. Well thanks guys! It would be logical that mine is small framed as my mags have no rib. The dessignation on the mag is 9MM.

Maybe ill just sent Tanfoglio an email requesting info on my serial number.

I have now fully cleaned the gun and have ran around 150 rounds with no failure in a DIRTY gun. I have also since my first post griptaped and thinking of buying an extreme flat trigger. Ill make a nice picture and post it to the Tanfoglio porn threat!

  9. So, I have been busy this week-end with my new Limited.

The reseller claimed the gun was cleaned, but it was nowhere clean the way I clean. I've broken the gun down to the frame and while I was at it changed the following things:

    - Polished feedramp

    - Polished triggerbar and triggerbar plunger

    - Cleaned up the magwell and improved fit to frame

    - Cut one coil on the mag release spring

    - Cleaned up the nasty cuts on the magazine basepad that the previous owner cut so they fit in the magwell. The magazines are 16? round with a rubber bumper.

The gun now runs smoothly with a real nice pull and crisp break. I have no gauge so I can say what the trigger pull does. But im guestimating around the metric kilo.

I even started making a mock-up red-dot holder. What I am trying to see if a red-dot on the front of the slide would would work.

I will post some pics when I'm at home for the starting question of thge frame size.

One other thing; what is the size of the gripscrews? they are not matching and a bit ugly.

  10. Soo...i've been reading up here on all things Tanfoglio. Thanks for the great info!

I understand that in the US the name is Witness and some things are a bit different than on the continental Europe (i'm Dutch).

Soo after a LOT of paperwork and legal hoops It looks like I can pick up my secondhand Limited Custom on thursday.

My Limited is in 9MM ( .40 -.45 is not that common I also believe our PF for major is different, plus ammo cost is not fun) My question is how can i figure out what the fame size is (do I even have the opportunity to convert to .45 if I want to. We are restricted in amount of guns and a conversion is a legal loophole that does not count as an extra firearm.

Also what do I need to look for to asses the state of the gun, Im concentrating on the kidney lugg and small cracks

I've added a pic of the firearm (pre- cut slide version) and Serial N is N99143**
