  1. hey Guys,

been idle for a while, just did not have any stuff to share.

Well now I bought an older Limited Custom for IPSC Standard (Large Frame) in 40 cal and 9*19 second slide. Got a great deal for 450 euros and included a speed holster, a rig and 9 magazines in both 40cal and 9MM.

Now I already have a Small frame Limited Custom in 9*19 wich has mounting holes. I also got a second hand thumbrest from DAA wich i would like to mount on it so my 2 gus are alike.

Maybe the resident Tanfo doctors can tell if it is possible to drill and tap 2/3 holes for the thumbrest in the leftside of the frame?

Which M-diameter is used and what drill can be used? I know I need to buy a 3-step (pre-middle-finish) for the threading.

  2. I have had this happen also they seem put out that you dont know your SN I am not sure why they need your SN to begin with. They can be very rude there and is frustrating when you are trying to get answers and they seem to not have time for you.

In their defense: they ask for the serial number so they can identify exactly what pistol you have in front of you and make sure the parts you're ordering will fit. I'm sure they've had plenty of upset customers return parts which didn't end up working, but unfortunately I think I, as well as some of the others here on this forum know more about Tanfo cross compatibility than the ladies at EAA.

That being said, there is no excuse for the rush. I feel the same way when I call, it's like I'm really hassling them when I want to buy something; they can't get me off the phone fast enough.

Dude you must be their nr 1 client ;)

  3. I've been debating with some clubmembers to start a bowlingpin + plate local cup.

I would like a red-dot to mount on my limited for fun stuff, but i am just blown away on the option out there.

Im leaning to wards a (micro)-dot on a mount (as i have the option on my limited frame and keep it legal for IPSC when I remove it)

Also i can run a .22 conversion with the same mount as it does not ride on the slide (not convinced on these gadgets for competition use) and keep my iron sights untouched (right?).

But i would like to have the option to use the mount if ever i want to run a match in open.

Soo.... what's the verdict for a mount, horizontal. Should i buy a weaver or picatinny?

Option 2, I could fabricate a mock-up mount from some steel and run it for these fun matches?

Lots of question I know but I'm sure you guys can chime in!

  4. Got an Elite Limited payed about 800 USD (599 in euros), dropped about 250 euros in Xtreme parts (some are spares) and havent looked back yet!

It runs and runs (2.5K rounds now) im updating the front sight now (thin, and green fiber) and just tuning the trigger a bit.

Sure the parts are spare, but we in EU can't go to the corner store anyway, I order straight in Italy of from Eric in France and have the parts the same week.

I bet you can't just go in the store for CZ custom parts also, also sometimes fitting is mandatory anyway.

Don't be scared by the unicorn stories. They are value, damn sexy and shoot straight!

I got all the help and more from these guys here on BE and will do my fair bit myself!
