You are right. I forgot about the ejector. Thanks.

I'm building an STI 2011 in 45acp planning to shoot USPSA Limited 10 and IDPA CDP. However, I might want to shoot Limited major. Has anybody tried having a slide set up for 45acp and another slide set up for 40 on the same frame? I'll appreciate your feedback.

I just finished installing an APEX FSS trigger on my M&P Pro 9mm and it is not resetting. At the range I can fire two rounds if I don't let go of the trigger. If I let go, it will fire if I press the trigger again. Any suggestions?

Anyone shooting in CCP using Wilson Combat? What model?

Can someone suggest the best and easiest grip safety to install on a SR 1911 Government model? I'm replacing all factory parts with Stainless Steel ones but I'm having a difficult time finding the right grip safety. Most of the parts already replaced have required a little bit of fitting with no problem. However, the grip safety has been my nemesis. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback, guys!!! Sorry it took me a while, 5 months, to reply. I've been shooting 9mm so much that I kind of forgot about 45acp, I want to get back to it. These loads seem too hot, On the low side that is about a 190PF, way over the 165PF that I need for IDPA. I guess I will stick with Titegroup and maybe trade the pound of N340. Thanks again,

Tuning a Dan Wesson PM 9 for IDPA competition
opensol replied to opensol's topic in 1911-style Pistols
Thanks to all for your responses. Unfortunately, I will have to wait a bit to try your suggestions. I got my PM9 and after 3 rounds it locked up, galling. After a few hits with a rubber mallet I was able to unlock the slide. I field stripped it and re-lubed it but I couldn't get the slide back into the frame. So, my PM9 is at CZ-USA getting fixed and hopefully I'll get it back soon. I will post an AAR. -
Tuning a Dan Wesson PM 9 for IDPA competition
opensol replied to opensol's topic in 1911-style Pistols
^^^ This is exactly what I did. Local smith took out some of the creep, improved reset and made the trigger break at 3# instead of 4+#. Used all the same internals - I think DW uses pretty high quality parts. 10# spring made it shoot a little flatter and an no-gap Ice Magwell makes reloads super smooth. JayDee, on the DP no-gap Ice Magwell, do you have to buy the mainspring housing also? -
Thanks a lot, everyone! I'll post AAR once I get my PM9.

I started using Titegroup once I ran out of N320. Same load on Bayou 147gr. 3.2gr, performs the same on my G34 and M&P Pro. Titegroup just a tad hotter.

I'm getting a Dan Wesson Pointman 9 in a couple of weeks. Been reading on a few forums it could be very finicky on what you feed it. I shoot 147gr Bayou Bullets, flat point. Any special OAL , crimp, etc? My standard load is 3.2gr of Titegroup with OAL=~1.135, enough PF for IDPA. All suggestions welcomed! Thanks.

I just chronoed 147 Bayou on top of 3.2 Titegroup through my M&P Shield. Six rounds 850fps/125pf-866fps/127pf. I've been running it on BUG. Hope it helps.

Any suggestions on what kind of tuning job on a PM9 to make it humming in IDPA? Thanks.

Diffuser rods for Caldwell Chronograph
opensol replied to opensol's topic in Chronograph Equipment & Techniques
OK, so I call Battenfeld and order 4 rods, $1.25 each. Not a bad deal. I got them and I used today. Thanks for all your suggestions. -
I have a pound of N340 that I bought to compare but I have no good loading data. I would like to load 45acp with Bayou Bullets 230 gr. Any good recipe out there? Thanks.

Diffuser rods for Caldwell Chronograph
opensol replied to opensol's topic in Chronograph Equipment & Techniques
Great ideas! Thanks. -
OK, so I'm a new member of the "I Shot My Chrono" club. Luckily I hit one of the rear diffuser rods. Where can I buy just the rods? I've been searching but no luck. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Bayou Bullets, 147 gr. is my choice. Soft recoil with 3.2 of N320 or Titegroup. Makes PF all the time with Glock 34, M&P Pro, and Glock 19.
-
Very good and clean powder. Great powder if you shoot Bayou Bullets. 147 gr, sitting on top of 3.2 gr gives you good PF.
-
Thanks, guys. Reuse them it is. Saves me money!!

RDA is correct. These are live primers that fall off into the chute and then a plastic tube attachments I bought on eBay.
-
Is anyone reusing the primers that fall off the primer dispenser? In other words, I have an attachment that catches the primer that for whatever reason was never set in the casing so it falls into this little tube. I want to reuse those primers. Any reason why not?

Need Help- Replace 650 Ring Indexer
opensol replied to opensol's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Thanks to all of you that replied with your help. So I took everything apart and replaced the ring indexer. WHAT A PITA!!! BTW, after I figured out from where to where and how the spring was supposed to go, I hooked the end that goes on the ring indexer and then I threaded the other end with a toothpick and stretched along the cam until I was able to hook it to the other post. Thanks again. -
I don't know how but the ring indexer cracked and broke. Where can I find instruction how to replace it? I have the spare parts bag and have the necessary parts. I need help on the installation. Feel free to chime in. Thanks.

Mont1120 was correct. I ran all the misfired rounds through my 1911 and worked flawless. I went back and swapped the firing pin spring back to factory. I'll do more testing. Thanks.
