  1. How can you tell from a spent 45acp casing if it is for small or large pistol primer? Thanks.
  2. Mont1120, I will try rerunning one of the rounds through and will let you know. Thanks to all for your suggestions. I just took out the primer seating spring and reinstalled it and locked it in tight, I think it was a little loose.
  3. Yesterday I shot a match with my G41 and 230gr factory loads. My performance was atrocious but I had no issues with the ammo. Afterwards I wanted to chromo some of my reloads. Bayou Bullets, 230gr, on top of 4.8 gr N320, Winchester Large Pistol Primers. I got light strikes on 3 out of 10 rounds. My OAL is ~ 1.126-1.127. Could this be the problem and I had to come down to ~1.125? I don't think is my striker spring, it is #14. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  4. All good suggestions, taken, and all worked. Thanks guys!!
  5. i just finished a caliber conversion from 9mm to 45acp. Now the casefeed arm is not lining up with the casefeed bushing (medium) so cases are not falling. Looks like the slide cam is not pushing the casefeed arm enough to make the alignment. What adjustments should be made to fix it? Thanks.
  6. So, after pulling my hair for a couple of hours I finally got the rounds to pass the plunk test. Crimp is set at .471 and OAL is 1.250. I figured out you have to combined a small flare and the crimp die so it only touches the case mouth. But you all knew that. The rest should be easier. Thanks to all for your help!!
  7. So I went back and re-calibrated the dies. Crimping is now set at .378, OAL is 1.135, Powder charge is 3.5 of N320. All systems are go!! With 135 gr Bayou Bullets I'm getting PF= 130, with 147 gr Bayou Bullets I'm getting PF=140. Holes are nice and round. Not touching it. On to 45 ACP!! Thanks to all.
  8. Thanks PatJones. Does the Dillon dies do taper crimp?
  9. Can you taper crimp on the Dillon 650?
  10. Thanks everyone, very helpful!!!
  11. aandabooks, that was fast!!! Thanks for the info. Enjoy your holidays!!
  12. So I'm loading Bayou Bullets 230 grn on top of 4.8 grains on N320. What is the recommended OAL and crimp? Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
  13. I apologize for the misinformation. I meant to say OAL is 1.135.
  14. Thanks to all for your replies and suggestions. I guess I have some homework for this weekend.
  15. Thanks GrumpyOne!!! Excuse my ignorance, could you elaborate?
  16. This is my first experience reloading. I just finished loading about 40 rounds of 9mm Bayou Bullets, 135 gr, 3.5 N320, OAL 1.35 ~ .05 on a Dillon 650. Got back from shooting them. Everything worked fine with the exception of one FTF and one primer that didn't ignite. I can take care of that. However, I realized that my target was ragged at point of impact like if the bullet was tumbling towards the target, not a perfect hole. Any suggestions? Thanks
