  1. Can you practice slide lock reloads with SIRT? The picture shows a flat/fake slide lock button, which implies there won't be any slide lock mechanism.
  2. Here is the pic. The top 3 are from RCBS single stage. The bottom 3 are from SDB. Same batch of brass, same powder, and same bullets. The picture does not 100% reflect the "curve" I mentioned. The real rounds show more curves than the picture does.
  3. I just recently switched from RCBS single stage to SDB for 9mm reloading. What I noticed is the rounds coming out of RCBS (with Lee 4-die set) have very straight walls, while SDB would always produce rounds that resembles bowling pens. What I meant is the bullet seems to expand the case to form a bulge on the top half, then the middle section of the brass would seem thinner. From the middle downwards to the base, you can see it gradually bulges back to the same diameter as the top section. It is not very obvious but I can feel the curve with a touch or see the curve under right lighting condition. Is this normal?
  4. I have a handful of rounds fully seated, then I noticed the case mouth cracks. Is it safe to shoot those rounds? What do you guys usually do? Pull the bullets out and toss the cases?
  5. The brass are mixture of once fired commercial, previously loaded (2-3 times) and bulk bought range brass. I have not tried to actually use my barrel to test - I shoot MP9 Pro, no Glock. All the failures are against the case gauge that I have been using for the past year or so. It is possible these failed rounds will still fit in my barrel. I am just curious what would cause them to fail the case gauge. Is it something to do with the special dies in SDB? Too bad there is no adjustment to the sizing die on SDB.
  6. I just bought Squre Deal B to replace my single stage RCBS for loading 9mm. It works great so far. However, one problem I noticed for the first 200 rounds I loaded is that about 5 of them failed the chamber gauge. I am pretty sure I did every press/pull consistently. The headstamps of those failed rounds vary, some FC some PMC and some Blazer. I am curious what could be the cause of this issue, given that all brass run through the same dies with the same amount of force applied. How could I prevent this? I have not had a single chamber gauge failure when using single stage RCBS for about 3000 round I loaded before. Any help is appreciated.
  7. Can you please link me to the "iMarksman" IR module for SIRT? I looked around on their web sites for their products, and could not find it. Thanks.
  8. I have been on the fence buying SIRT or LaserLyte for dry fire practices, considering the potential of forming bad habit, e.g. focusing on the laser dot instead of my front sight. I wonder if there are SIRT or LaserLyte equivalent products on the market that would use IR ray instead of laser? Of course, the target will need to be able to record the hits if using IR, and there won't be instant feedback. However, I feel IR resembles live fire more closely. I did some google research and did not find anything. Does anyone have any pointers? Thanks.
