I did this exact same thing to my Walther PPQ's. It gives a much better feel in the hand.
-
The Walther PPQ/Q5 has a the best out of the box trigger I've ever felt. Feels good in the hand too.

I have a friend that owns one. He told me it does use the Walther PPQ mags. The EDC is a very nice pistol!

I think I would choose a 9mm over 38 Super due to the availability of ammunition.

Some have rusted, there was a period four or five years ago I read of a number. I have one from the time that "blooms" rust from what I assume are small defects in the treatment if not oiled, the spots have turned to small pits . Supposedly Glock will refinish or replace, varying reports on charging for it or not, I haven't bothered.
Never knew of this. I would send it back to Glock.

I was SO a IDPA stage. There was a stage malfunction. I told the shooter to stand easy while two people reset the stage. I was standing in front/facing the shooter talking with him and mentioned he will need to top off the pistol. He proceeded to draw the pistol and pointed it at my midsection. Worst I've seen and up close to boot. I will say I should have worded the statement to the shooter differently.

All I used to shoot was my .45 1911. For about five years I've been shooting mostly polymer pistols. This year I wend back to my 1911. Love the feel of the pistol and nothing else comes close to a good 1911 trigger.

My Kimbers in .45 have run great. Fair price with good options.

I've never seen a rusted Glock slide. Perhaps Glock sees no need for this reason.

I've tried a few of the big name full kits but have gone back to the TTI GM connector kit in my Gen 4's and now 5's. In the end it's all personal preference.
I've also tried a few others and the TTI also feels the best for me.

1911 slides in full profile are heavy and slow as stated above. Whats funny is with either major or minor in a 1911 I run about a .14 split on open 7yd targets, so while compared to the relatively light slides on your CZs the impression is they are slow and you are waiting for them the reality is they are not that slow and if you are waiting for something its not the gun.
I haven't shot my 1911 for a while. Was shooting a Walther. Until reading this I thread I couldn't figure why I felt I was waiting for the 1911 to cycle.

I know two friends that have the 9mm RIA and they both like them. One had to go back to the factory for a feeding issue. It was taken care of and my friend loves this pistol. For the price you can't beat this pistol.

Ok. I ordered a new trigger from Apex. Lets see if this makes a difference.

Good that STI took care of this. I have a barrel link kit on hand from EGW just in case this happens.

The frame is easy, JEM Guns. If still available, JEM Guns for the slide. If you buy both from JEM, Ed will machine fit the slide and frame to an interference fit for $30. If you want it burnished in to final fit, another $30. Barrels would be Kart or Barsto. If you will be shooting lead, the Kart is the best. Barsto barrels are broached, so you have to run at least 500 jacketed through them first.
Caspian slide if you can't get a JEM.
I agree. JEM make the best frame

Nice pistol. Leave it original.

Ask Jem if they will do this for you. They make amazing frames

The problem in a match setting is that emptying your mind and focusing like this is very difficult for many people to do on command. The alternative most people settle on is giving your conscious mind a single task to focus on and letting everything else happen subconsciously.
Lanny Bassham does a good job explaining this in With Winning in Mind, and Steve Anderson has translated it for USPSA (and similar sports) in his books.
I think you correct. In a match setting it is not always possible to do this. I was likening this to a form of relaxation.

I do 50 10 yard sprints for a speed workout. The first 10 are with a rolling start. 10 with left foot forward. 10 with right foot forward. 10 facing up range turning right. And 10 facing up range turning left.

Was shooting with some friends last night. I commented on how much better I feel/ that my mind is more relaxed during the shooting session and immediately after. While shooting I am very focused on the task at hand. One of my friends said it is because we are focused on the moment. All other things are not in your mind. Never thought of it in these terms before. I think this is much like meditation. Clearing your mind of all other things.

Hammer follow is very often fixed by increasing the pressure applied against the sear by the leaf spring.
Agree with this. Have you tried doing this yet? What is the result?

I find that I am a bit slower with a 2011/1911 that does not have a pinned safety. My limited gun does have the safety pinned. All my other 1911's do not.
M&P 2.0 in production division?
in S&W (M&P, etc)

I agree with Kurusty. If you like the M&P shoot it in Production. Why spend the money on a new pistol. Unless you are looking for a reason to buy a new pistol. Aren't we all:)
