  1. From the pic's it looks like can you drill and tap a hole in the case feeder behind the wedge deflector piece and install a screw to move the deflector where you need it. Or use a self tapping screw. It would look cleaner and you wouldn't have to drink two cans of beer to get the tabs. Hey wait a second...drill the hole first then drink two cans of beer to celebrate a job well done.

This is absolutely, unequivocally WRONG.  If u even said something like this as an RO at a major match we would be having a conversation with the MD, who will correct you.  Creeping is the slow creep toward the gun while waiting for the timer, or not being still.  False start is quickly starting to draw, thinking u heard the beep, or just as a mental error.  Both are handled by the RO by simply waiting for the shooter to be still, or verbally correcting the shooter if it is a recurring problem or  the creeping seems intentional.  After this, assess penalties for noncompmiance.  If the false start occurs in a close instance with the actual beep and the shooter begins shooting, it's a reshoot.  All the same as USPSA and CLEARLY described in both sets of rules..  It's the shooters responsibility to be still while waiting for the beep. It'S the RO'S responsibility to start the beep only when the shooter is in the correct position. If something happens other than that, restart or reshoot.  Penalties are for intentionally attempting to achieve an advantage.

Going forward when the new rules are in effect I would be wrong. Still ok for about three hours or so. This is a thread about new rules so I should have stuck with that.

I never had to give a penalty for a false start or creeping nor have I witnessed anyone receiving one. It seems that when a shooter has a mental error and goes for the gun, they usually realize the error and stop before they draw, look to the RO and return to the ready position for a restart.

I would like to see the rule like this.  If the shooter moves towards the gun between stand by and the start signal, and the gun is drawn, the string should be completed with a penalty.  A restart if the gun is not drawn.

As far as the timer/RO cadence thing...well reaction to the timer is part of the challenge so I prefer random times between stand by and the beep.

  3. I have loaded and shot at least 4000 and have about 2000 left of a lighter color red Acme 125 g and 147 g bullets.  Mine are more of a satin to flat finish and the ones pictured above are more glossy and a deeper red. I have had zero issues with coating flaking or misshaped bullets with the Acme I have.

I have older copper color SNS bullets that the coating flakes easily. The newer brick red SNS with a glossy coating does not flake at all or scratch easily.

  4. The popular recipe for wet tumbling is two tablespoons of Armorall  Ultra Shine Wash and Wax and a quarter teaspoon of Lemishine. The brass could not be any cleaner and there is a night and day difference in the way the brass feels as opposed to brass being cleaned with a brass solution. I still use a spritz or two of One Shot which makes a huge difference especially when using an undersize sizing dye.

  5. "Competitors must not be permitted to commence a course of fire wearing:"  Section 5.2.7.3  " A holster with the muzzle of the handgun pointing further than 3 feet from the competitor’s feet while standing relaxed"

I interpret that to mean forward of the competitors feet. Thought being that if you are wearing a canted holster with the muzzle pointed to the rear aren't you breaking the 180 as soon as you holster your gun?

On this note, I don't believe that SCSA uses the classification system in a "participation trophy" manner at all.  Aren't all SCSA competitions "winnings" based simply off of overall winner down, along with division winners down?  There's no splitting of winners by class.  The class system is used simply to let everybody know where they stand relatively against everyone else, basing the classification off of the exact stages we shoot in competition.  This is one area where I think SCSA is head and shoulders above every other organization.

    Exactly!
