Those were my thoughts, just wanted to get some advice from those who do it. 10 rounds would also be as easier transition for me, same game plans as production.
I did think 40 was the answer, but thought 9 might be something to consider.

Currently a production Shadow shooter. Not ready to make the jump to limited, but SS does interest me. I was looking at a Trojan. What cal is common for most shooters? I was considering 40 so I could go minor for higher cap or major for the points.

Mine walks as well, but never past slightly protruding on one side. I was pushing it back in to center for a while, but I quite and it has never moved past slightly off center.
-
I thought about that, the hanger mount is to high to be able to. I have adjusted and don't notice anymore.

I use the pdr pro, no issues with the 2", can't see why anyone would with the ball joint you can set it pretty much anywhere. The one thing I wish was different would be a lower cut to expose the safety on the body side. I ride my thumb on top of the safety, and wish I could start the draw thumb on top of safety. I have no problems now, thumb hits the safety on the way out.

Sorry op to hijack, I do use the thick ones on my USPSA gun and I prefer them to VZs which I have as well.
-
Did you use the thin stuff like the kind on the cz grips or the thick cut your hands open kind. The stuff I use cuts my fingers and I have to run a metal rod over it when new to break it down a little. My hands are rough and have thick calisuses.

It's definitely better for me than the grip tape versions, but I'd be happier if there was more aggressive stippling on the front and back straps, or if the checkering was over the entire grip instead of just the middle.
Try some skate board tape on the front and back straps.

I couldn't get any good pics, but doesn't appear to have build up. That also doesn't mean there is no build up. Also, it did have some oil on the bake coming out, but I resoaked and baked until it was clean. Either way NIC recommends removing them, next time I probably will. I've done my production gun twice now as the holster wear was starting to bother me. No doubt that if I move the sights now it will mess up the paint job.
-
How is it prone to flaking and what causes a none uniform coat? I do it myself, just trying to learn. I'll never sale or change sights.
-
If the slide is being painted black consider leaving the sights on. I did black on all of my cz slides, kept sights on, looks good. It might be a little tighter but should still function normally. I paint everything on the czs except the springs and barrel. Inside the frame and slide.

I've got an 11, I noticed my brass going pretty far (10-12 feet) and the muzzle flip might be a bit high. Was thinking about trying a 13 or 14. about 128 PF with a 160 grain.

Just got one from Russ, very nice. My SP01 shadow with springer base pads, lemon graters, several pieces of heavy grip tape was 1 ounce short. His guide rod was 0.7 oz heavier than my steel guide rod, should be 0.3 short of max now.

As soon as it is approved I'll get one. Heck I'd get one as soon as they submit to NROI for approval.

The chunk missing is probably machining. Break the edges with a stone or small file. Then work up with the wet dry. I go 600, 1200, 2000 then polish if I can get the dremal in there. I use a plastic putty knife to hold the sandpaper also a paint stir stick. It will work well on the long flat piece.
-
I use red loctite and can still turn the screw. you could also use thread tape.
-
I have done three CZs with cerakote now. Paint is around $40 per color, and will probably do 6-8 pistols. If you have everything you'll save a bit doing it yourself. I had to by a toaster oven and blasting cabinet. I will use the cabinet for other stuff as well, got it from TSC I think it was around $60. Also got a badger air brush. Initial cost is a bit if you don't have everything, but every pistol I do cuts the costs. I have some others I want to do at some point and maybe my ARs.
-
Also jewelers file to break the edges.
-
I used wet dry and a paint stir stick for the flat edge.

Is it legal to change the finish and still be production legal ?
as long as it isn't something to enhance grip,
Per existing NROI ruling, cosmetically enhancing the finish of a slide is already ALLOWED in Production Division, provided that the finish provides no com-petitive advantage.
This clause is NOW interpreted to specifically ALLOW refinishing the frame, as well as the slide, subject to the existing constraints on refinishing (cos-metic only, no competitive advantage).
Special Notes/Clarifications:
• Any finish which provides a non-cosmetic function will be deemed PROHIBITED. For example, a gun finish which provides a roughened texture in an area where grip tape is not allowed (Appendix E4) is a PROHIBITED modification.

The compact slide is thinner (except on the safety and slide release, and I will fix that). My RAMI is still in jail, few more days.
