  1. The thing is the Timmy's buy more and shoot less, this is actually probably a winning strategy for STI weather we like it or not. My holster maker shifted their focus from competition to le and tacticool and doubled their business. Again bigger market, less demanding.

  2. Need to know ammo specs, Is this a new problem on an old gun or new gun? Which gen mpx? Any modifications? How far does brass eject if it is ejecting at all? If the gun isn't cycling its either binding from being too dry new and stiff new stiff mags or its not making gas due to ammo or gas system problems, or its not extracting due to ammo or extractor issue. Need a little more info to help.

  3. May not be helpfull but on my SBRs I always run the brake that attaches the applicable suppressor or precision armament afab or efab. I would propose those are top of line SBR muzzle devices, but not for 3 gun they are focused on balanced performance. Most effective but also most concussion devices will be rear vented, hypertap, the answer, sjc extreme. Noticed you said longer, some of the suppressor mount models are longish.

  4. Some mixed advice here. Your reticle probably has an intended zero distance based on the subtensions so I suggest you determine that first and zero at that distance. Looks like Leo had couple reticle offered in that scope so depends on which one. 99% of the time you 2 choices are 100 or 50/200, manipulating your zero to match loads is advanced stuff for later. Once you have a solid zero correct for your scope you need to shoot targets at as many different distances as you can with the same ammo you will use in a match using exact velocity from a chronograph and any decent ballistic app with 100% correct data inputs. This will verify your hits to the data and then you will know your load scope and app are good to go, test as many distances as you can out to as far as you will shoot in a match. For me if my dope is good at 300 & 500 I'm confident its tight anywhere else. If it's not right figure out why period until you can hit 3moa targets at several distances. Once this is done the match is easy. The target is 250 so I have to hold right here on my reticle and I know its right because I tested at the range. If I miss i know its me and then I can work on positions marksmanship etc. But if you aren't 100% sure where the bullet is going to hit you won't be able to progress well.

  5. Tested the new TF +20 functioned without any issues in a few hundred rounds of practice. Getting the last 2 in by hand may be difficult without a lula, but it will probably break in with some use as well. So as best I can tell both the new Taccom and the new TF have no obvious issues either in loading or feeding.

  6. I know it's not financially feasible for everyone but there are also some pretty advanced lightweight barrels from say Proof or Dracos that handle shorter than they shoot if you have a light brake. Meaning a proof 16" handles like a sbr and a 18" handles at least as well as a traditional steel 16. You see plenty of top tier shooters going that direction.

  7. I have or have owned a couple thousand $ of top end AR triggers and have come to the conclusion once you pass $200 you need to figure out what style matches you not which we say is best. Examples include say AR gold, hyperfire ecl, and a timney calvin, all awesome top tier triggers, all feel completely different shooting. Only way I know to be sure is buy a lot of triggers or get people to let you live fire theirs and think hard about the pull and reset dynamics that match your shooting style.

  8. 18 weeks for me today. I should have one of the first black Friday orders if your in that group or after. I just think we should all agree not to blow up PT with calls and emails that can only hurt each other. We need them on the phone with the coater or whatever the issue is. If your coming up on 14 please be patient were probably looking at 20 weeks right now so 6 weeks of emails is not helpful. Am I a little frustrated? Sure, A bit concerned about spending thousands on a proprietary pistol from a company having some challenges delivering? Yep, But nothing I can do now but be a patient and hope they get it sorted.

It happens. Some guns just prefer the geometry or surfaces of only certain bullets and COL's

Um or, and I know this is a crazy idea, you shouldn't shoot coated bullets through a mpx, cause it's a gas gun with a gas port in the barrel.

@2011BLDR I think I have verified what is going on, the Clean Shot just does not generate enough gas, even though PF is about 143-145, which unto itself is very interesting.

I tried the single round in mag test to see if it would lock the bolt open. My 3.7gr and 4.0gr of CS did not lock the mag back using a good 30 rnd mag.  I then did the same with PMC, Winchester, and WWB, and all 3 locked the bolt back.

I then ran about 40 rounds of PMC and Winchester with no issues. I ran about 15 rounds of my 4.0 CS thru, and it jammed on the 12th round, with the empty case sticking out of the chamber. Enough proof right here!!!

Another interesting item, the ejected brass from my CS loads were about 6-8' away, where the factory ammo was 12-14' away!! Further proof the CS isnt producing enough gas.

I have some Everglades 124 plated and Shooters World Auto Pistol (supposed to be close to N340) on the way.  This combo should easily produce the gas needed.

    Thanks!!!!

Or your still shooting coated bullets through a gas gun. At some point you will find enough powder to overcome this by powering the coating through the gas system but that's not a real solution. My gen 2 runs 100% with 3.5g of n320 which is sub minor but a 125g jacketed bullet, my 3rd gen will run with even less. Try a different powder yes but you dont need open gun gas to run this gun. I got 3.1 of n310 to run but didn't like the pressure signs so stuck with 320.

He's probably talking about milling the receiver face square and wrapping the barrel extension in shim stock for the tightest fit possible. It's not a bad idea and won't hurt anything but 99 in 100 shooters won't be able to tell the difference unless his particular barrel or upper is horribly out of spec.

The weird thing is that the gunsmith wants to fit everything for accuracy but recommends a piston system. Pistons are not synonymous with accuracy.

Lap and shim good for accuracy, piston system opposite effect. I would look elsewhere like quality factory built rifle.
