  1. Interestingly enough I remembered that bag and checked it out about an hour after I made this post. Probably going to go in that direction.
  2. At the moment I am using the medium size DAA backpack with their range cart, but I am looking for a little more room, so I am ordering on of the RangeRunner carts. With that one I want a non-backpack bag. There are soooo many options out there. I was thinking about the DAA XL bag, but I figured I would ask around. I am not a fan of that bag from an aesthetic standpoint, for whatever that is worth. I want something that will last forever (one thing I do really like about the DAA backpack, it is 5 years old and still looks almost new.) Since I am buying to last, I am fine with spending the extra dough for something very high quality. As it is going to be on a cart, weight isn't really an issue. If I am going to the indoor range I will still be using the backpack. Some sort of magazine storage is, of course, imperative. Not sure where I land on the "pull out" internal tote that a lot of bags have. I know that they are very popular, but I am not a fan of the Midway USA competition bag. I have owned one, they just don't do it for me. So, let the arguments over what is the better bag begin!
  3. Ugh, that 4-8 week wait does sting....
  4. Did you have a notebook specifically printed up for you? At the moment I am primarily dryfiring with a CoolFire, and I am doing it ALOT. I think I would run out of pages pretty darn quick. I love the idea, though, would definitely be interested in trying it. I think the only real downside with paper is being able to quickly pull up comparative data on whatever you want to see.
  5. I randomly found the manual for the older version of the CED7000 Pro timer when doing a search for some Steel Challenge info. It looks like this older model had a SC mode and you could export the data for tracking. From what I can tell the newer model CED7000 does not support export (at least not in the same way.) So, are there any timers out there that would integrally support SC?
  6. So, I suck at Excel. I could figure it out if I had enough time, but has anyone out there put together any kind of a spreadsheet for keeping track of practice times? I know there are a couple of phone apps that do this, but I would prefer doing it on the computer. Something that maybe tracks average strings for a practice session, that sort of thing...
  7. I am actually shooting CO, my issue is with astigmatism. I took my slide and optic in with me when I got my prescription. So not a focus distance issue for me.
  8. So there are TONS of options out there, so I was hoping to get some opinions. I definitely want something impact rated, but maybe not as expensive as something like the HD Golds. I have had in the past the type of glasses with a prescription insert behind interchangeable lenses, but I want to go the one lens route this time. The other is just too bulky and hard to clean. Likely something yellow tinted as that seems to be the best all around option. If I can find a good deal I am not opposed to buying a couple of complete frames for different situations. Also would be nice to find a company that would allow me to use my vision insurance benefits. I went to the eye doc today for an updated prescription, so I am ready to order something. Seems like none of the eye care stores carry anything, at least no local to me.
  9. I thought I would follow up on my original post. I was originally looking for N320, but it ain't out there. I did end up going with Clean Shot, and I have been super impressed. I really don't notice much of a difference in cleanliness compared to Titegroup. It is better, but I wet tumble and never had an issue with Titegroup. Gun seems a little cleaner, but not really anything to write home about. The biggest difference I have noticed is the metering. I am spot on time after time, where as there was always some minor deviation with Titegroup. I am definitely enjoying the spherical powder!
  10. Hell, you are right. Major brain fart on my part. Thanks!
  11. So I know from looking at the rules that there is 9mm minimum on the cartridge for centerfire pistols. However, when looking through older articles online I see a lot of mention of shooting 38 super or super comp. Did the rules change at some point?
  12. Did you find that you needed to have any trigger work done?
  13. Sorry, meant I was vague, not you.
  14. Yeah, that was vague. Was referring to my other post where we were talking about putting a comp on my S2.
  15. Also, there is the whole DA/SA thing. Would be very nice in SC to have my first trigger pull be SA.
  16. I actually thought about that. I already have an optic (shoot CO with it.) I have never shot open before, so the one reason I was hesitating on that option was that I always assumed it was preferable to have your optic frame mounted as opposed to the slide so that the optic was not reciprocating.
  17. So I am looking to pick up an open gun in 9mm. I have owned and shopped many 2011s (but all limited.) Because of price and the fact that I have a line on being able to pick one up, I am considering a Czechmate. I already shoot a S2 in CO, so sticking with the CZ grip also makes sense to me. Also, this will likely be used mostly in Steel Challenge. If I decide to get something for SC only, I will probably look into a 1911 9mm build. I am curious if anyone has opinions on the pros and cons of the CZ and 2011 when compared to each other?
  18. Once you add the optic it isn't much of a difference weight-wise. I ended up with a net weight savings of .4 oz, so not much. Basically, by having the lightening done you are not adding any weight with the optic. It feels a touch faster, but not a lot. I would imagine it would be a noticeable difference if you had the cuts done without adding the optic.
  19. Damn, that's close. Is yours the battleworn finish? Same grips and everything...
  20. Load data I am using is essentially the same at Titegroup. Have only loaded 124gr so far at 2.8gr. Honestly, it is cleaner, but not a whole lot cleaner, at least from what I have seen. There are a lot of comparison photos out there, and the differences on those is pretty shocking. However, from what I have seen, it is maybe 25% cleaner than Titegroup. Still, it's cheap, and cleaner is still cleaner.
  21. Finally getting back to follow up on this. Ended up with Clean Shot, definitely liking it so far.
  22. I just tried to add another photo for you, but Imgur is having an issue. If you message me your email address I can send it to you direct.
  23. I know this is a long shot, but is anyone out there making the stenciled base pad grip tape similar to what Dawson does, but for CZ? I was planning on just buying some grip tape and cutting out, but it would be nice to have the numbered ones. I had them on my 2011 mags and really liked them. I am currently using the Henning +5/+6 base pads. Currently I number my mags with a white paint pen. I am sure I will need to just cut some of my own, but you never know....
  24. No problem, I just added six more photos of the slide cuts to that album. I can tell you that where they cut the lightening holes in the middle of the serrations, the serrations are very sharp! I took it to the range today, it is shooting super flat and fast. I am shooting 124gr flat points on top of 3.8gr of Clean Shot, makes around 130 PF. For what it is worth, I was shooting just under 1" groups at 15 yards from a rest. Plenty tight for my needs. I would imagine that you will get better than that since the Orange has the bushing.
  25. Anyone have any experience with these? It seems to work in the same way as the Sprinco systems. I had a Sprinco recoil management system in a Canik, and I thought it was a great addition. There is a sale right now where you can get the DPM for the same price as the Sprinco, and the DPM adds different length (so weight) springs.
