  1. Meant to ask you, what are you using as the riser for your C-More in this photo?
  2. That is good info, thank you. I did not realize how much .22 was actually imported.
  3. Is that the Wiland cheek riser? For some reason a lot of the listings on their site do not have pictures right now, and the cheek riser is on of them.
  4. Oh yes, I will definitely be building the rifle I want. I have been obsessing over individual parts for about 3 weeks now...just trying figure out what chassis I want to use (leaning towards the Wiland.)
  5. So, I shoot only Steel Challenge. I have a bad knee and determined a while ago that I just cannot be even close to competitive shooting anything that requires a ton of movement. I am only 45 but have had three knee replacements on my right knee due to an old baseball injury. I cannot kneel on that knee or bend it past 90 degrees. If I am required to shoot from a knee it has to be from my left one. Shooting prone is barely an option unless they change the rules and someone can help me up! However, in SC I can be competitive, and I enjoy it immensely. Outer Limits is not an issue with my movement, so I can shoot it well. So what is the issue? Ammo. Or the lack of it. Right now I am shooting CO and RFPO. I still have primers but they are dwindling down. I can probably load enough 9mm for eight or nine more matches, plus some for live fire training. .22 is scarce but I can at least buy it, and I have no plans to pay 30 to 40 cents per primer. It just doesn't make sense. I have been following a lot of industry news, and it feels like this problem is not going away any time soon. There have always been ebbs and flows to ammo and primers, but I have never seen it this bad. I think primers are not going to be normally available for a VERY long time. Think is the operative word, but it certainly feels that way. The question I have right now is, do I sell my CO pistol? I would love to build something for RFRO, and I have this fantastic custom CZ sitting here that in a few months is going to be gathering dust. The money I make from the sale of it would finance a fantastic rifle build and a good deal of ammo to boot. But man, I love my Shadow 2. I mean I love it, it is the favorite out of any of the pistols I have ever owned, and I put a lot of money and time into it. From the upgraded internals to the Primary Machine work on the slide, it is a fantastic CO pistol. But it is replicable down the line. I can always buy another one in two years and have the work done again. Of course, if I sold it I would lose money on it, that is just the market. But it is another down side. For those who would suggest just building the rifle and keeping the CZ, that is not an option at the moment. Or at least it would be a very hard to make the sale to my wife. I am also a "buy once, cry once" kind of guy, so if I build a rifle, I want to be able to build a damn nice one. I know that if I pick up something less expensive, the urge to start tinkering and upgrading is just too strong, so better to start off that way (at least for me.) So, is this a good idea or a bad one? I am honestly not sure if I am trying to get someone to talk me into it or out of it!
  6. Thanks for all of the input everyone. I believe I am going to go the "build your own" route and have started researching what I want. One upside being that I can buy piecemeal, which will make my wife much happier. Just don't tell her I am spending more money in the long run......
  7. Sorry, wasn't sure what you meant. Probably just something that would hold 5 or more Buckmark magazines. Maybe a little tray of some sort to put the flag in? A handle of some sort would be nice. Thanks for looking into it!
  8. Nice. My brother in law has a nice 3d printer, but I don't think he designs his own stuff, just plays around with existing files. If you get around to designing one, please let me know!
  9. Striplin has a 3d printed caddy here: https://striplincustom.com/product/striplin-custom-magazine-caddy/ I wonder if anyone has seen anything like this for rimfire magazines only. I searched through Thingaverse and did not see anything, and CAD drawing is not something I am going to attempt.
  10. So, this is bound to be contentious, but I am going to throw it out there anyway. I am looking at adding a comp to my Buck Mark Vision Pro (used exclusively for SC.) I have never comped a 22, and I want to give it a try to see what it is like. They are also relatively inexpensive, so I see it as a win/win. So far I have it narrowed down to the Carolina Crusher from Wiland, the Steve Foster Falcon 22, the Game Changer Pro from Tandemkross, and the Trail-Lite by TacSol. If anyone has experience with one or more of these, I would appreciate the input. And for those of you who do not agree with comping a competition .22, go ahead and talk me out of it. Let the games begine!
  11. Hopefully this is in the right place. I just picked up a Buck Mark Plus Vision UFX . I want to swap out the rail to one without the integral rear site, but I cannot find any info on the length of the rail. Tandemkross has one that is 4.97". However, just going by photos of the Vision, it does not look that long. I believe the UFX is a non-standard model. Has anyone replaced that rail or had any experience with these? Thanks!
  12. I did check TI a while ago and they do have the left handed in stock. Funny you should mention glasses. On Friday I sent back the demo lenses that Hunters sent me to mark my pupils. So that process has started, thankfully. I have been using a set of ESS for years with the prescription insert, and they are a pain in the rear. Almost not worth bringing all the lenses because it takes so long to change them out. And then, as soon as you do, the lighting changes again! I do like the Decot. If I had the money I would order a set with the different lenses all prescription. I did price that out for the ultimate package and it came out to $1064 bucks, and that is without adding the anti-glare. Pretty steep invenstment. By the way, I was only half joking when I asked if you would sell me a rifle.
  13. Here is another question for everyone. Optics. I see that you are running C-Mores on all of your setups. I happen to like Holosuns, with my astigmatism, the circle works the best for me. Would you recommend a reflex type sight that runs lower on the rail, or something that sits up higher like a traditional AR? I guess it it hard for me to tell because I don't know what the height difference of the rail on a 10/22 and an AR would be. Those C-Mores look like they are riding pretty high up, almost like what a lower 1/3 would look like. I do know that on my last AR I had one of the Unity Tactical Fast mounts, the taller optic was just more comfortable for me. Because of that I am thinking about that mount with a Holosun red dot like I used to have. I really wish I could use a straight dot so I could use something like a slide ride, but it just doesn't work that well for me. I have even taken red dots to the optician, and we just can't get that nice, crisp dot. Just the way my eyes work, I guess. But for some reason, that circle is nice and crisp with a good outline. Has something to do with the refraction, I think.
  14. And down the rabbit hole we go, lol. Any chance you want to sell one?!?!? Thanks for all of the info, I really appreciate it.
  15. So are you basically buying the receiver from Tactical Innovations and everything else from Wiland?
  16. Are there any good resources out there as far as build guides go?
  17. I am thinking about getting a 22 for RFRO (assuming I could even find one.) Other than Tactical Solutions and Magnum Research, is there anywhere else I should be considering? I have always been a pistol guy, never owned a 22 in my life, so this is very new territory for me. Also considering RFPO, but keeping this post to the rifle category. Any input would be appreciated!
  18. I got my tracking earlier today, should be here tomorrow. Advantage to being only one state away.
  19. I did not realize there is no back light, so thanks for that heads up.
  20. Hmmm, that’s a little annoying because I have not gotten my tracking yet. Yours was probably auto sent because you made your purchase through the online store. I just emailed them with a gentle reminder. Hopefully will get mine pretty fast since I am in Virginia.
  21. Ahh, that Tilley. I did not make the connection. Must be nice to have a shooter like that associated with your business. Free sponsorship!
  22. Not familiar with the Tilley family. Weirdly enough, that buy it now button was not there before. They must have edited the site after I spoke with them. For what it is worth, I was talking with a guy named Mario, and he said he was looking right at the timers while we were speaking, so I had no problem ordering one.
  23. I posted this earlier, but it was buried in another thread. Goshoot.com, a store in NC, has several of these available. On the website they are listed as in store only, I found out about it because someone mentioned that you could get one if you went to the retail store in Raleigh. People were assuming you could not order one to be shipped, but I took a flyer and called them anyway. They had no problem with shipping one out, and I asked them if it would be ok to post about it here because I knew a lot of people were trying to get their hands on one. They will ship USPS or UPS (I would recommend UPS considering how late USPS is with deliveries at the moment.) They are selling them with the silicone case and lanyard for $168.95, and they have them in black, blue, red, and green. So, if you have been debating picking one of these up, here is your chance to do it without the wait. I know that these have become very popular, especially with SC shooters like myself. I wanted one but buying direct is a 4-8 week wait, although some have reported waiting longer than that. I do not know how many they have in stock, but I got the impression that they had a few of each color. So here is the link to the product page, their phone number is (919)779-6880. http://goshoot.com/product.amg-lab-commander-shot-timer-black-silicone-case Enjoy!!
  24. Well, just for giggles I called the fine folks at goshoot.com to see if they would ship. On the site they are listed as "Available in store." I believe everyone was assuming that there was no chance they would ship. Well, they will. I also got permission to post here and let you guys know about it. The shipping I was quoted was $9 for USPS and $15 for UPS. Considering the current state of the postal service, I chose UPS. I am still waiting on some items that were shipped Priority Mail over three weeks ago, and apparently that is par for the course these days. They are selling them with the silicone case and lanyard for $168.95, and they have them in black, blue, red, and green. So, if you have been debating picking one of these up, here is your chance to do it without the wait! And in case you were wondering, I am not getting any kind of kickback posting this. Wish I was, then I could afford primers!!!
