  1. What about that 25-2 from DNR at GB? I know some of you guys love those older 25s. It looks like a beautiful one for a new project. New hammer, new trigger, an action job, maybe inserting a gold bead on the FS? What do you think?
  2. Although they look similar is like comparing apples and oranges. Glocks are SSP and XD belong to ESP; therefore, you'll be shooting against heavily tinkered SA guns. Which division do you want to be at? Just my 2 cents!!
  3. Nontactical: I really don't know! It had to do with being crosseyed and the way a gripped the gun. I even changed safety to the memory grooved Ed Brown's one and still had problems with it. I must say that accuracy was supreme, for me anyway. Maybe 1911 are not for me....
  4. Spoke to Vic and ordered a set. He'll ship it today despite not having received payment. Trust or what?
  5. If they give 6lb trigger pull consistently on my 625 I'll be very happy for now. Anything else you guys recommend doing other than have it polished internals? I can see sending it to Randy in the future but for now it will do it. Won't it? Cheers, Julio
  6. I'm not giving up my wheelies at all. Just an addition. The only thing that frustrates me is competing against myself with revos. That happens way to often in IDPA. Once in awhile (just to feel at home) I like to be called a bottom feeder. Now seriously, a different caliber would put me in ESP. How is that an advantage in USPSA. There is a nice Trojan .40 in GB with magwell and everything for $850. Is that a good price? What else should I consider?
  7. I'm considering the above pistols. My first gun was a Kimber Team Match which I coludn't shoot fast enough. It had to do with the grip safety, I think. I'm crossed eyed (righty with left eye dominant) and had problems engaging grip safety mechanism. I want to stay under $1000 to start this new project and willing to listen to other options. These guns I mentioned seem to be pretty well equipped. I would like to listen to your experience with either model. Cheers, Julio
  8. Mike: You've got it, WWB all the way !!! As I posted the other day, I'm in the market for a 627. If anybody like Randy Lee could do the conversion for me I'll strongly consider the 38 Super version. In case Randy does not accept, who should I check with. Cheers, Julio
  9. Is a loan you take from the IRS until you get audited and pay it back in 5 years. Thanks for the advise. I spoke to Randy today.
  10. What should I buy next? Needless to say I love shooting revolvers. I currently own an M-13 3in. HB and a model 66 4 in. I've shot them both in IDPA. When I got tired of picking up empty brass I decided to purchase a 625 4 in. What's left? I figure if I wanna try IPSC I could use the 625 for awhile. Should I look for a nice 627 in 357/38 Super and use it in a steel/ICORE match. A friend of mine reloads for me, so a new caliber will not help the cause. Any suggestions? I really haven't gotten into seriously customized guns. I'd prefer staying as pure and simple as possible (That's probably why I enjoy revos to start with) Cheers, Julio
  11. Is the .360/.300 combo also good for a 4in. 625? Julio
  12. How are Vic's spring different than let say Wolff's ? Contacted Vic, he's asking for $40 for the kit.
  13. Again, would anybody know where to look for Vic Picket's springs? Julio
  14. Where can I look for Vic Picket's spring kit? Julio
  15. I've been shooting my 686 in IDPA with WOLFF reduced power mainspring and 13lb. rebound spring. The trigger pull is light enough for me, just fine. The question is: changing rebound spring to 14 or 15 lbs. will harden the trigger pull or will simply reset trigger quicker ??? The reason why I'm asking is that sometimes while practicing (and granting my technique is not the prettiest) and trying to shoot faster I skip a chamber. Another thing: do you really think than an extended firing pin makes a difference in a non moonclip gun? Ideas? Julio
  16. Ted: I will indeed !!! You know what happened the last time. I bought a 646 which is now somewhere in MO. Part of the fun of this hobby is thinking what's next. That's all !!! Besides that I have run out of permits, and here in NJ it will take over a month to get new ones. I went to Blue Ridge a couple of weeks ago hoping to meet you but it seems like you did not make it. If you don't mind I'll give you a call one of this days, so you can guide me on a couple of issues. Cheers !!! Julio
  17. I'm considering purchasing a moonclip revo for IDPA and eventually USPSA. I've narrowed my choices to the two guns above. I currently do not reload (a friend of mine does it for me) Cost of ammo is a factor, so I'm leaning towards the 610 in which I can use white box 180 gr. 40 S&W. What PF do you get out of a 4 inch 610 with this load? If closer to 165 than any factory 45 ACP then the 610 would be more appealing over all. I'm also pretty sensitive to felt recoil, so I think the extra weight of the 610 will not hurt. I'll appreciate you opinions on this matter. What would you choose? Cheers! Julio
