  1. Shooting starts at 8 AM. I will post a schedule once we have stages to post.
  2. First, we have 12 squads - not 14. Not sure where you saw 14 squads. Basically, when I look at squadding, I see 10 places that a shooter has to be: 9 stages plus chrono. At MCRC, we added the "down time" because of our very unusual range layout. There is a bit of distance between the Pistol bays (7 total) on the west end of the range, and the two stages plus chrono which are toward the eastern area of the range. Going from bay 3 to Bay 4 in the pistol bays takes 30 seconds, if you are moving slowly. The walk from the last stage in the pistol bays to the first stage on the eastern side of the range takes 10 minutes. But that is only of you keep walking. In the 1990's we discovered that shooters stopped at the bathroom, or at their cars to pick up more ammo or drinks. It averaged 20 minutes for shooters to get to that stage when they had to cross range and the large parking lot. And it happened again when shooters moved back to the pistol bay area from the main range. By the third squad rotation on Saturday, the schedule was screwed. Remember that our squad size is 15 & squad rotation is every 45 minutes. 20 minutes late was almost half the time we had allotted for that group to shoot the stage. So every squad gets two 45 minute "breaks:" one as they leave the pistol bays, and one as they leave the main range to return to the pistol bays. So instead of 10 places to be, there are 12 places to be. That is where I get 12 squads. Linda Chico
  3. Registration for the 2017 SC State USPSA Championship opens Wednesday, January 4th at 5 PM. https://practiscore.com/2017-sc-state-uspsa-championship/register The match will be held March 30, 2017 & April 1, 2017 at Mid Carolina Rifle Club near Columbia SC. Self squadding for Saturday shooters opens in mid February. No self squadding for Friday competitors Awards will be cash payback based on placement by division & class as well as random drawings for donated prizes. Entry fee is $130 & Juniors shoot free with an adult guardian who paid full price. It is your choice to pay fees online via credit or debit cards, or mail a check. We plan 9 stages plus chrono. This is a One Day match – shoot either Friday or Saturday. The match will recognize all 6 handgun divisions plus PCC, provided the division registration numbers meet minimum requirements for a Level 2 competition. Optional match shirts may be ordered for $15 (Sm-2XL) or $18 (3XL-4XL). Shirts are cotton-poly blend T-shirts that will be custom designed for the match. As always, we are in need of CRO’s, RO’s and staff to help with the match. Staff must complete the application. Staff shoots Friday (free) and gets a free match shirt. Contact LChico@sc.rr.com for Registration questions.
  4. The 2017 Precision Tactical Alabama Sectional which will be held at Dothan Gun Clun in Dothan, AL on March 10 or March 11. You can shoot either day. There will be 10 USPSA stages. Match fee will be $140 per shooter and Juniors fee will be $70. There will be a random draw of donated prizes & checks based on match finish. Registration opens tomorrow, December 07, 2016 at 12:00 PM (Central Time). Link to registration: https://practiscore.com/2017-precision-tactical-alabama-sectional/register So that Match Director Dan Mitchell can concentrate on organizing a great match, I will be handling all the details related to registration, squadding and scoring. Please let me know if you have any questions. The best way to contact me is by email (LChico@sc.rr.com). Linda Chico 2017 Precision Tactical Alabama Sectional
  5. I just posted an updated map of the range with stage locations on the match website. Also, I have included a copy here. If you already printed a copy of the one that was previously posted, I had stage 3 & stage 8 switched. RangeMap.pdf Linda Chico

  7. The match only makes arrangements for hotel rooms for staff. I suggest you check Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, etc. View hotels in Winchester VA & look for any close to I-81. Plenty of rooms for any budget range. Linda Chico
  8. Working on a map to post separately from match booklet. Should be up by the weekend. A few new areas in use. Just posted the updated map on the website (right under the link for the Match Booklet) on the Main page. RangeMap.pdf Linda Chico

  16. Let me apologize for not being clear. I keep forgetting that sarcasm does not come across well on forums. When I said: Hmm. Someone forgot to tell me. Maybe if you contacted a match official, we could have helped clarify that "rumor." - I was being sarcastic. Because I AM a match official. And I was trying to clarify, but clearly I failed to make my point. There has been NO cut in staff compared to previous years. There are NO plans to only place 3 RO's on a stage. During the main match, there are no plans to have competitors paste or reset stages. We are still talking to potential sponsors (updated lists are on the match website) and are planning on having a comparable prize table to previous years, but that is still a work in progress. At the $300 entry fee, we are comparable in price to most major 3-Gun matches. We are traditionally the best staffed and have a great prize table. But if you are worried about insufficient fun or value for your dollars to "cross the country," or even to cross the street, just let me know. There are more than 50 shooters on a waiting list & you will make someone happy. Linda Chico
  17. Hmm. Someone forgot to tell me. Maybe if you contacted a match official, we could have helped clarify that "rumor." First, we have had 55 to 65 staff members every previous year. We have NEVER had 100. Someone may have looked at the approximately 100 shooters who compete during the staff match & assumed all those were staff. Team FN & some FN employees shoot with staff. Also, a number of sponsored shooters compete during the staff match, as well as a few paid competitors who had schedule conflicts during the main match. Second, not sure how many 3-Gun matches you have organized, or attended, but 50 staff for 10 stages is about the most generous staffing pattern you will find. Period. Finally, if you are terribly disappointed with anything we plan to do at this match, you are not permanently locked in. Just send me an email message (LChico@sc.rr.com) requesting to withdraw from the match. There are a large number of people on the waiting list who are eager to mail you a check for entry fees. Linda Chico
  18. Every year so far that has been true. PM-AM-PM always fills up faster. Last year, by noon on April 3rd, the PM-AM-PM option was already full & I had started a waiting list. The AM-PM-AM option did not fill until sometime on April 4th. This year, 12 hours after registration opened, the PM-AM-PM option is 80% full & the AM-PM-AM option is 68% full. Please note that every year, 10% to 15% of the shooters were first time shooters at our match. Also, let me say a quick word about waiting lists. EVERY YEAR, people who got onto a waiting list during the first 2 weeks were all offered slots in the match. Linda Chico
  19. If you gave Howard Thompson a paper application to be an RO at the match, please do not complete the Practiscore online application until late April. If Howard told you that you are part of the staff, you have a guaranteed slot in the match with staff. There is no need to rush on April 1 to complete an application. So please wait until late April to complete the online application. I do not need another paper application, but EVERYONE who plans to shoot the match must complete an online application, because that is how your name gets into the Practiscore scoring tablets. Linda Chico
  20. Yes - that will be one option out of 3. Option 1 - shoot Thursday morning, Friday afternoon, and Saturday morning. Option 2 - shoot Thursday afternoon, Friday morning, and Saturday afternoon Option 3 - Shoot Tuesday and Wednesday with staff (note that this is only for a very limited number and requires special permission) See the match website: http://www.lchico5u.com/FNH3G.html Also - sent out hundreds of email messages to past competitors with the following information: The 2016 FN 3-Gun Championship will be held September 1 - 3 in Glengary WV at the Peacemaker National Training Center range. Staff will shoot on August 30-31. Applications for the match will be available April 1 starting at noon Eastern time. Link to the application: https://practiscore.com/2016-fn-3-gun-championship/register. Again this year - from April 1 at noon until April 3 at noon, I will only accept applications from previous competitors. There is a space on the application to indicate the last year you shot the FNH USA 3 Gun. After I look up your name on my list to verify your previous participation, I will approve the application & you will get payment instructions sent by the Practiscore application. First time shooters at FN 3-Gun can submit applications after noon on April 3. Any new applications submitted earlier will be deleted. NO PAPER APPLICATIONS this year. You will still have to use a stamp to mail your payment (check or money order) and a copy of your "approval" email. Please remember that payment is to “FN America, LLC”, with “2016 FN3G entry” in the Memo field. Every year I need to return checks made payable to me. I am a volunteer – not an FN employee. Cost is $300 entry fee ($150 for juniors), plus optional costs like $20 or $25 per match shirt and/or $25 for guest banquet tickets. Payments must be postmarked by April 15. After that, approval will be withdrawn & the application moves to the back of the waiting list. Contact me individually for "special exceptions: deployed military personnel, out of USA applicants, etc. When I say contact - I mean by email to LChico@sc.rr.com. Please do not send me messages regarding the match on social media or online forums. 803-629-7095 from noon to midnight (voice only). I have a VERY old-fashioned phone that works for voice only – no text messages or email messages go to my phone. I cannot stress enough that the email address you put on that application must be correct. Any information I try to send you will get lost if you provide the wrong email information. Double check the application before you hit submit. If you gave Howard Thompson an application to be an RO at the match, please do not complete this application until late April. The Practiscore program automatically adds a link to your application information on most ‘program generated email messages’ and automatically prompts you to use it to squad. Note: SQUADDING IS NOT AVAILABLE YET. Self squadding will open up in late May. You will get specific instructions about how & when to squad about 2 weeks before it opens. Please do not send me squad requests. Linda Chico FN 3-Gun Statistician LChico@sc.rr.com
  21. How to pay for your shirts: Pro match. Use this link to return to the application https://practiscore.com/pro-match-brownells-rockcastle-3gun-2016/register Note that this forum truncates the link. If clicking the link does not take you to the application, copy the following and paste it into your internet browser address bar: https://practiscore.com/pro-match-brownells-rockcastle-3gun-2016/register See the red arrow in the picture that points to the link to the store so that you can order & pay for shirts. Am match. Use this link to return to the application https://practiscore.com/am-match-brownells-rockcastle-3gun-clone/register Note that this forum truncates the link. If clicking the link does not take you to the application, copy the following and paste it into your internet browser address bar: https://practiscore.com/am-match-brownells-rockcastle-3gun-clone/register See the red arrow in the picture that points to the link to the store so that you can order & pay for shirts. I am real sure this works, because over 50 shooters have already paid for shirts, & I personally ordered & paid for one shirt in the Pro match & one shirt in the Am match. You get email receipts to indicate the payment is complete. Linda Chico
  22. There is no time that is great for everyone. This is our traditional date & has been posted for months on the website. 1. The application will be less than 20 questions online. Over half the questions are 'pick from a list,' so it is really quick to complete. Depending on break times and mobile access, you could probably complete the application at the range on a smart phone. 2. There will be 48 hours for previous competitors to apply, before it is open to first time competitors. When you are done shooting for the day - fill out the application (can be filled out from any smart phone or hotel computer). 3. If you prefer, you can have someone else (spouse, relatives or close friends) fill it out, as long as they know your mailing address and email address. You will have the link to the application 14 days in advance & 14 days after you apply to get the payment in the mail. No payment required to complete the actual application. No squadding until late June. So get someone else to complete it for you. 4. Hardship cases (deployed military personnel who are out of the country, people undergoing surgery, etc) please contact me individually after March 15 at LChico@sc.rr.com Linda Chico
  23. From the email you received with a Registration Code & link to the application (relevant portion in red): There is a link that will return you to your “Personal Management page.” You will use that link to return to Practiscore to pay your match fees. You will also need it again in June when self squadding opens up. SAVE THAT EMAIL MESSAGE. Linda Chico
  24. When your application was approved, you got the link to your Personal Management page so that you could pay match fees. In that same email message from Practiscore, I included instructions on how to pay for shirts. That message is copied below: Match fees $250 plus cost of shirts (optional). Return to your personal page to pay match fees. The cost of shirts is not included in the match fees. If you requested shirts on the application, Return to https://practiscore.com/pro-match-brownells-rockcastle-3gun-2016/register & select "View Our Online Store" at the top of the application Linda Chico
