Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I need to replace some springs and followers in my tubes. I prefer to go to slide lock on an empty chamber. I think Im sticking with STI guts because of my slide lock preference. Ive reached out to some vendors and was told pretty much all after market followers will require modification to go to slide lock on an empty chamber. If there is an option, please share. Also by chance are gen 1 and gen 2 followers for 9mm inter changeable between different gen tubes? Wouldnt expect it, but you never know. Thanks.
  2. Anyone have personal experience with holsters for sti 2011 hex tac 5.0? Looking for a holster that won't require any modification if at all possible, but have positive retention. In a perfect world I would like to utilize the same holster for idpa, uspsa, steel, the range and 3 gun.
  3. Just found the thread, bash feat for sure
  4. Same reason why I picked one up, to have something different.
  5. Anyone run an ACR? If so what load, optic, etc do you like for tac rifle/3G? Ergonomics seem to be an easy transition from an ar so far, just haven't reached out to any distances yet. If anyone one has used the Geisel trigger is it worth the price tag? Mainly looking for over all experiences, tips, etc of this platform
  6. Sticking with 1911 style has helped a lot with "it's the same one"
  7. I have one 1911 with the scratch, can't stand it. A guy working on a pistol and leaving an idiot scratch... Scary combo. Buddy or not, he should step up.
  8. Good and semi reviews. Give her a whirl for summer I suppose
  9. From experience any 9mm mags 10rds plus worth salt, any available? Love single stack, sa and recoil. Thinking 3G options if any?
  10. New to the forum, I'm Alex. Just would like to share my start in competitor shooting. Spent five years in the Corps and recently moved back to Maine. Have three uspsa matches under my belt and the first one couldn't have been a more humbling, welcoming entrance. Picked up another pistol, a kimber target ii in 9. Of course being the dead of winter I opted to compete with a new pistol with little live fire function tests. Gambled and lost, failure to extract every one to three rounds. Turns out many shooters are welcoming and more than helpful. One shooter lent me his 1911, rounds and found more from another shooter so we could both compete. Quality guys by definition. Continued to compete and continue to be humbled. The Marine Corps taught me to shoot and qualify. Multiple award expert qualifications were just that, qualifications. I know safety and fundamentals. The stages, course of fire etc are all new. Looking forward to the new learning experience and competition. Future plans are more matches, reloading and 3G if schedule permits. The forum has been a wealth of info, glad to have found it.
