  1. I am moving to the states in the next month or so., and i can tell you this.. I am definatly guna shoot in trooper class. I an definatly guna get a saiga, And when those 10 round mags become avaible.....good bye tube feed shootguns... Just gota count to 9 and slap another one in... nun of this hold open nonsence. my 2cents.
  2. it was late and i was tired.!!! and a little drunk!!! thats my excuse anyway. Nothing like a bit of late night BE.com and cold one!!!
  3. i love that rig !!! could you give us a break down of what it consistis of ?
  4. Say enough kit to do the ironman, and vest set up capable of getting you through the toughest stages there.
  5. What about chest rigs and stuff, what do you recommend/ know that works, for holding mags and ammo and stuff, whilst shooting?? and preferences?? I would love to shoot trooper class, but dont wana spend $300 plus buck on a loada gear that doesnt work.? Any ideas?
  6. Exactly... If for example you had a 3 round burts and single shot, trigger group, then at a a bunch of targets up to say 20 yards i think it would be a big advantage, then just flick back to single shot for those long shots., or anthing that requires a bit more pricesion. like a tight hostage plate or required head shot. Makes perfect sence to me.....!
  7. Hi guys, This may sound like a silly question, but why dont we see people using tuned full auto, or 3 round burst/ selectable triger groups on there AR's at 3 gun matches.???? Is it a cost issue, reliability, ???? just wondered Does anyone think this wound be an advantage??? What class wound this put you in??? or are they simple not allowed.???? Just curious???

    Glock Accesories

Hi everyone, I am going to get a new Glock 17 at the end of feb, to use in 3 gun. (Tac scope) smm3g. I dont think im guna have time to get it to a smith in the time im out there for. Can anyone recommend mag base pads, springs, mag releaces, etc that can be done by me quite quickly and cheaply. when you guys say a drop in trigger, is it litterally a drop in unit or have you got to do other stuff to it.?? This will be my first time with a Glock so be gental. Thanks.
  10. all the set ups look great!!! I love the punisher AR cool! im going to be getting my own set up this year before the SMM3G got a friend guna look after it for me in the states till i move over. Canrt wait to go on a bit of a shopin spree!!!
  11. Hello everyone. i have read all the comments and i feel that i need to say something. Firstly the obvious.... Is it not fair to say that, we as a colective of competative shooters/3 gunners are competent enough with a firarm, wether it is 1, 2 or 3 at a time to safely deal with them and not drop them or shoot anyone. ??? its fair to say that we are competing at relativly high level and should be capable of this??? That is why we have RO's. To stop us from doing stupid things on that rare occasion we are about to screw up?? Personally i have no problem carrying hot all day or on a stage. If you turn up to a rifle stage for example were there is no requirment for a pistol with an empty rifle and wait for the command LAMR you make ready the rifle and wait for the buzzer. Why does the RO even need to see your pistol at all. Unless you use it during the that cof because you decide you need to, then the RO could ask you to show clear afterwards. As for when/if you transition to your pistol, i think you should just you retain your long gun. Just keep it down range in the hand your not using you pistol with and there you go. Show then all clear when your finnished. If you need to bin the long gun right at the start due to what ever reason, then in the burm or some where where you ar not going to DQ yourself or endanger anyone else...... If called planning how you will shoot the stage.! Cover you ASS!! and think about the what ifs!! As for going prone with a pistol........well......personally, as long as its NOT drawn from a prone postion, so as no itchy triger fingers get to near anything while you draw pointing back down range. , i dont think theres any problem with it. If the troopers wana wear all that stuff let um do it, and give some benifits for it. the average shooter thinks its enough of a pain in the arse just carrying a range bag from the truck to the stage... Hats off to em. And perhaps for the average guy who works in an office all day, has no need to or carnt wear a gun all day, they go to these matches in the great out doors so they can do just that, live the dream and feel good about them selves for a few days because of it. Sorry if work in an office and this is not you, but im sure you know what i mean.!!?!!? So all in all if the whole thing slows people down and makes them think about the stage a bit differently the so what?? if it makes them think a bit more about their gun handleing then GREAT. Thanks for reading. My 2 cents. (i await the fall out.)
  12. to preclude all possibility of injury, I will be shooting nerf dart guns this year...will the one that runs on a belt of darts put me in open? Thats cool If they have little suckers on the end will effect making major power factor?? at the chrono??

Kurt, Browning golds mate, mike built it, its is a carbon copy of his. I didnt know that they dont like 65 mm shells. I do now.!!! I think it was just nerves about shootung at an unfamiler ground and not really knowing were i was going and all that kind of stuff. Im only a young pup remember, sometimes these silly little things get the better of us. I have much to learn yet obi one Guess i should clean the thing ready for the next one.

Ok, Just to let you all know how it went... Badly Very Badly.!!! Monster jam on the very first shot of the match. And only had one stage of the 12 when i didnt have to clear at least 2 james per stage. Im talking 15 to 25 second jams here. turns out that my shells unbenown to me where 2mm too short to work the action reliably. You live and learn. never guna shoot that ammo again. So by the second stage i kinda new it was guna be a waste of a day, so i just consentrated on my planning and tactics, and my mental game. Put some particualy violent tunes in the ipod. Stuck to my planes and ignored everyone else this part went very well, started to see it as a serious of target sequences rather than a whole load of plates al over the place. and because of this when the gun decided to function, i was smokin!!!, but then bam... a jam. But i can pull some positive things from the day, like my planning and mental stuff. Im guna take this to my next big match in 2 weeks and and try and kick some ass. With proper ammo this time. Thanks for all the advice

Just that thinks wont go to plan./ Jams will happen, My loading wont go to plan, Hit no shoots. It is a Shotgun match. Saying that though i have felt alittle better about it today, not really sure why? It is being held somewhere i have never shot before, perhaps that has something to do with it. Perhaps when i get squadded i will just ipod up, and and really focus on what i have got to do and nothing else. Focus on maintaining that zone like feeling for as long as possible. Just try to igone all the stupid banter that you always get at a match. I do shoot with some pretty good shooters. British and european champions current and past. So i tend to compare my times to them and always seem disapointed. But i must remember that they are in a different leauge to me. I supose you could call it performance peer presure. Feel like i dissapoint them a little bit if i dont do as well as i should/ know that i can.

I really think that the whole zen thing and the mind game and metal approach is a big part of the shooting prosess. espesally at a competition Well it is for me anyway. Thing is, ive got a match coming up this weekend, and well its not a nerves thing, i dont get nervous before a match, but for some reason ive just got this feeling that its going to be a bad one. Im one of these guys, that never wins a match, never gets a trophy, which is fair enough but always give my best effort, and i really enjoy matches regardless of weather and the drive and everything. But just got a feeling. Do any of you guys and gals get this? What do you try to do to eleviate it.?
  19. Hi everyone, i think the chap at rockin H tactitical is probably the man to ask, but does anyone know if the bolt can be lightened on a 3" Bronwning gold hunter. Will it mess up the auto load feature? What is actually involved in lightening a bolt.? What is removed? What benifits does lightening the bolt have anyway.?? Less Recoil? Faster rate of fire.?? And help would be much appriated.
  20. Hi all, Just wanted to post something somewhere to say a heart felt thank you to Mark Buchanan of 3 Gun Gear .com for all his help, advice and time on the range, in getting me ready for the Rocky mountain 3 gun competion. Marks training was absolutly first class It was a great trip and great to meet up with him. Also thanks for a the use of the thousands of dollers worth of equipment. I could not have done aswell as i did without marks help. In am in your debt. Thanks also to Roger, David, Gary and Joe for welcoming me in to your squad. Carnt waint for the next trip. (Apolagies if this is in the wrong bit.)
  21. Lots of cool points LOTS and LOTS....!!!!! I thought the POF ar's looked the business, but this HK thing is off the chain. Cool V.Cool.
  22. Thanks guys for all you help, it has all been taken on board.
  23. Correct me if im wrong, but surly the double action first shot problem isnt that much of a problem. If its in condition 1 locked and cocked, (which they normally are, then it wouldnt be a problem... Obviously,.... But even if you had to start in condition 2 then it is only the first shot that could be a problem every shot after that is guna have the hammer back anyway. And you could always just cock the hammer when you bring it up to fire??? i havent bought one yet but a glock was my next choice, i just think the sig is so much more better looking , a glock just looks a bit bileemic. I always thought 2 quick C's is better than 1 slow A Hence the 9mm desire.
  24. Bronco Thanks. you obviouly get the idea of what i was trying to say. Yes the sig would be a starter pistol for me, and maybe in a few years progress on to a nice sti in .40 Got to get an AR and a shotgun in there yet aswell. Im in the process of trying to emigrate over to the usa. So it would be nice to have my own pistol at least, for the SMM3g. I think the 9mm and 38 supers are over looked in 3 gun. Everyone seems to think its .40 or bigger. All the open guys seem to shoot .38 super. The 9mm can still do the job and its cheaper for us young pups and newbees to keep in the game with. Just my oppinion.
